After their lectures Kabir and Misha directly head towards Piya and Abhay's direction outside during recess. Kabir comes out in sweats. He had the apology planned out in his head but all of it went out the window as soon as he was face to face with Piya. Something about her always made him feel uneasy. He had butterflies in his stomach doing somersaults. Kabir looked past Piya and noticed Abhay's arm around her in a protective hold. This guy was always around her like a rash. Kabir could feel himself grow angrier but then he saw the LOOK. He knew the LOOK. Piya and Abhay were in LOVE. Kabir felt sick inside but as much as it hurt him he wanted to see Piya happy even if it was with Abhay Raichand his biggest rival. Kabir couldn't force Piya to love him. Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. Kabir knew he had to accept this sooner than later but it wasn't going to be easy to bury his feelings for Piya. Piya wanted Abhay. Any fool could see it but then why did it take him a few day? Misha started clicking her fingers in Kabir's face to get his attention back. Kabir gave a sheepish smile suddenly feeling embarrassed.
Misha-"Have U come back to planet Earth now? I don't have all day dude?"
Kabir-"Misha i'm sure U have things to do but for me this isn't easy U know."
Misha-"Whatever bro. It was your idea i come as your shield or have U forgotten already."
Abhay-"Piya, I'll leave U guys to sort out your differences. (To Kabir in his menacing mode pointing his finger at him) U better not upset her. Come on Misha lets go." Abhay let go of Piya trying to walk off but Piya caught Abha's hand.
Piya-"Abhay whatever Kabir has to say he can say it to te both of us. Don't go."
Kabir-"Look Piya about last night. I er. U know? I um. How do i put it? I. I er. I behaved like a prat. I couldn't see clearly. I saw Misha in a drunken state and jumped the gun. I thought Abhay was going to U know. So i confronted him. It wasn't my one of my brightest moments i admit that."
Piya-"Kabir. I'm so mad at U right now. Mad at U for being such a jerk. I don't care what U thought Abhay was doing. U should have tried to listen to his side of the story. I'm mad at U for attacking my boyfriend when he did nothing to you. He didn't once lay a finger on U yet U kept charging at him. It's not me U should be apologizing to. I will only accept your apology if Abhay does. He was the innocent party in this."
Kabir looks at Abhay. Damn she was right. He was so busy trying to patch things up with Piya he never even thought about Abhay. Kabir felt really guilty now. Drat he wanted to run but had to man up. Abhay looked back at Kabir. Abhay knew this was hard for Kabir. It was a matter of pride. Guys didn't want to do the whole apology thing in front of an audience. It was a rep thing.
Kabir-"Abhay I er. Sorry Man. U know for the...."
Abhay-"Its Ok. All water under the bridge now."
Kabir-"I am honestly sorry for the way I behaved. Its not like me. I don't know what came over me."
Abhay-"Kabir it's fine. U are only human. We are slaves to our emotions. Forget it ever happened."
Piya-"Forget it ever happened. I am still reliving it in my head."
Misha-"Meri Maa. U will trun me into an old women by the time this is over. Kabir said he is sorry. Abhay accepted case closed."
Abhay-"Piya he's done his part. He's suffered enough now put him out of his misery."
Piya-"Fine. Kabir U are forgiven. Next time please no fist fights. Ok. Talk it out. I don't want to see my favourite guys at war with each other."
Kabir-"Ok."
Misha-"Now that we're all friend why don't we all PARTY!!!! U know a real get together. Show Abhay how we really rock the joint."
Kabir-"Mish is right. After ruining yesyerday i wanna make it up to you guys. Party at my place. Minus the alcohol."
Misha-"Party pooper."
Piya-"I don't know i have a lot to catch up on."
Misha-"U can study hard later Piya. Seriously dude. Chill. Its only the first week. Put your hair down. Party hard then U can study hard. Trust me after a few weeks U won't have the chance. Abhay bro tell her to loosen up a little."
Abhay-"Piya U might as well give in. Studying can wait. If U fall behind i can always help U catch up."
Kabir felt a tinge of jealousy. He knew all this would take time. Its not like he stopped caring for Piya but for their friendship he wasn't going to let his feelings ruin anything. He'd adjust. He had to for his own sanity.
Pia gave in- "This is a one off ok. I'll bite."
Abhay-"U guys go. I need to talk to Kabir." Pia and Misha leave the guys alone.
Abhay and Kabir walk towards the Uni entrance.
Abhay-"Kabir i know this isn't easy for U.Seeing Piya and I together is hard but we are a couple. I will do anything for her. Piya feels the same. I also know U have feeling for Piya and thats ok by me. I get what Yesterday was about and the rivalry between us. I get it. I don't hold a grudge against U. Kabir U are Piya's friend and any friend of Piya is my friend. U have been there for her when she needed somebody. She really likes U as a friend. I can never hate anyone she loves. I wanted to get this talk out of the way. For a fresh start we need to open up our feelings and build a new foundation."
Kabir-"How do U do that? Not want to punch my lights out despite knowing that i have feelings for Piya. I'm not going to deny anything. Don't tell Piya. Ok."
Abhay-"This is the way i see it. I am wise beyond my years. Its a waste living in the past. We need to move past it and look towards the present. I would rather have U as a friend than an enemy Kabir. Piya has this effect on people. People are drawn towards her. U are a good guy Kabir. I'm not a guy that befriends people easily yet Piya has allowed me to do this. As for telling Piya don't worry your secret is safe between U and I and obviously Misha."
Kabir-"Thanks bro. To new friendships" They shook hands on it and leave.
After University ends Piya heads off toher dorm room. She gets the Journal out and starts reading it. There wasn't much to read judging by the thickness of the book.
Journal
July 1400
I held Maithali in my arms rocking back and forth finding not solace in holding her lifeless body. Her face was drained of blood. I did this to her. I killed her. I killed her people. I was a real monster. A Beast in every way. I repeated her name over and over as if she'd miraculously awaken from this nightmare. It was the hard truth. My Soul was taken away from me. My reason for existing all because of my rage. My hunger. Her words still rang in my ears. "I forgive U. Do not harm yourself." I didn't even hear a fellow demon enter this land filled with dead bodies.
Chander-"What have U done? This is going to create a riot. Clues to what U did. About us."
Abhimanyu-"Us? Do i look like i care? Get the hell out of my way!!!!!!!"
Chander-"Night walkers. We need to hide all these bodies. Or better yet burn them."
Abhimanyu-"I don't care. Do what U want."
A woman came from behind. Her eyes black like the night.
"He loves this girl. I can feel his emotions. He killed her. Her death troubles him. We can help U son."
Abimanyu-"I don't need your help and i am not your son."
Chander-"Truth is we need each other. We can help U adjust."
With that I took Maithali with me and zoom off. My bloodied face. Tears neverending. My emotions overrode my reasoning for doing the impossible. I went to Hecate his witch wife. Only she could do the unthinkable. I called out to her mentally using everything I had in me. To my amazement she heard my call. Hecate had changed over the 6 months. She was glowing. Her stomach protruding out. She was with child. What? But how? I couldn't think!!!!!! It hit me with a tonne of bricks.
Hecate-"Is this really U? Abhi!!!!" in disbelief.
She saw the dead girl. Me in this state. She held her arms out and stopped me in my tracks. She shielded herself from me. I knew she cast a spell around the house. She put one protective hand over her stomach.
Hecate-"U are a demon now. Abhi. We buried U. We've mourned for U. This can't be how? I don't understand."
I replied-"Maya."
Hecate used one hand over her face. She saw me looking at Maithali.
Hecate-"Why that little......? She did it. She found her goal. She's not human and neither are U? She did this to spite me and to take U away from me. Only U were never mine were U Abhi? Or Maya's? Will never be ours? U belong to her." Hecate uses her eyes to show she means Maithali. "Oh my goddess U killed her i can sense the residual effects."
I-"I'm sorry for all the pain i've caused U. Truely but i could never come back not after i died. I could've killed U. I tried to stay away from her. Maithali but she was like a magnet. The more i tried the more she lured me in. I know U will never forgive me Hecate for the way i've treated U but i must try. For Maithali. I killed her and for that i can never forgive myself even if she has forgiven me. There must be something U can do for her. Bring her back. Use magic. I beg U Hecate please help me. I cannot exist without her. I would rather die but her last words to me was to live not die."
Hecate hurt by my words let out a big sigh. She looked at me for a little too long than i expected but not with disgust or hatred but admiration.
Hecate-"Part of me wants no part in this. U have bombarded me with all of this now. When i am in no fit state to think. Abhi I can never hate U. I love U too much for that. I don't blame U. I knew U never loved me not in that way. U even told me this and i know U tried but our destiny isn't to be together. U were meant for Maithali. I see that now. I hold no ill feelings Abhi for U have given me the best gift i could ever ask for. Maithali was the one U were suppose to be with not me. Your soulmate. For all lifetimes. I can't do anything Abhi my powers have a limitation right now." Hecate shows me what she meant.
I pleaded-"Please there must be something. Anything. I'm desperate."
Hecate-"U have damaged her soul Abhi. She has been hurt by everyone around her. Maithali is an old soul. She is unique in a way that most humans aren't aware of this. See witches are drawn to these people for knowledge and power. She will suffer a lot Abhi. There is a dark figure that will cause her harm. Lurking. They will haunt U guys till the end of time. They won't stop until they get what they want? Maithali will live again but not in this body. She will come back for U. She will keep coming back until she has U. She will remember everything through dreams the bad things but only when her spirit is stronger will she be able to see U in a good light fully. I will try to ease her suffering Abhi but after that U must leave us forever. U are a risk to Us all."
Hecate uses magic to clean out Maithalis spirit which lingers away. I watch frantically. Then my sister Parvara makes an appearance.
Hecate-"Get back in Parvara."
Parvara-"No. He's my brother. Demon or no demon. I can see he will not harm me."
Parvara hugs her brother tightly. I hug her back. I try to look away to hide my face but she holds my face with her little hands.
Parvara-"I'm not scared. I can see U are hurting a lot. I heard everything. Maya will pay. U will see. Bhabhie will help U. I know she is hurting but she will help U and Mets get together."
I get to say what i've longed to say-"I LOVE U. Little sister."
Parvara-"So do i big brother."
Hecate-"Done! Maithali will come back to U Abhi. But U must wait for her. I will cast a spell for U to sleep for that duration until her birth approaches U will awaken with a clearer picture. It will give U time to heal while mending U along the process."
Parvara-"Give me your hand." I give it to her. She cuts it with a little knife then her own hand with Hecates. She mixes it together and casts a spell.
I ask-"Whats this ?"
Hecate-"Its a spell to keep us witches safe from your kind."
Parvara-"Maya. Immortality has made her demented so she is looking for U and will try to hurt those U love."
I hug her again.
Hecate-"One more thing during the time U are in hibernation U will be healing from thirst. U will feel hunger but it will help U rein all your emotions in. Control it. Unfortunately U will feel it more around Maithalis old spirit as her blood is potent."
I hug Hecate as she lets her guard down. "Thank U so much. I wish i could've hung around for this little one. I will never get to know it."
Hecate-"Don't be too sure! I bid U goodbye my love."
Maya enters. "So this is where the party is at? Abhi I've searched for U everywhere but this discretion has ticked me off. I should have known you'd come back here. I left thinking you would be here not following my instincts."
Hecate-"Leave him Maya I will deal with U myself."
Maya-"Leave it sister. U are no match for me. Not in your state. I got bigger fish to fry." Maya watches my reaction as i try to sheild Maithali away.
Maya-"So U finally became a killer. I am proud of U but U show love for this dead piece of trash."
I lash out "MAYA" then lunge at her as we fly off into the tree. Parvara cast a sleeping spell on my parents. While Hecate soon joined by Parvara work together to pull us apart sending Maya away.
Maya-"I will take the one thing U love Abhimanyu. Show U what pain is. I won't stop until i finish U both."
Hecate-"She's gone. U must go to the cemetary where i will try to help U rest with Maithali. Parvar U wanna come."
Parvara-"Yes"
We arrive at the site and thats that. I didn't realize Chander was there to help me. He really meant it.
