hey guys..so i'm back..thank you for the lovely comments..hope u like this part..
Part 7

Geet went to sleep as soon as she got home
and did not wake up till dinner time. On the other end, Maan was having dinner
with dadi who was asking her grandson about work.

Dadi: How is your new venture going beta?

Maan: Extremely well dadi. It will be
complete in a few months and will give a boost to our already prestigious reputation.

Dadi: I have full confidence in you. How is
everyone at work doing, I mean are you satisfied with all your employees?
She asked slyly, setting up the base to question him about Geet.

Maan: Of course dadi, Maan Singh Khurana
runs a tight ship. Everyone performs their work well. Well everyone except Geet that is. Dadi that girl will drive me crazy one day. Do you know what happened
today? She came in this morning so tired and sleepy that she fell asleep during lunch break.

Dadi found this piece of new very
interesting. Her grandson actually paid enough attention to notice that someone was tired and sleepy. She decided to probe him a bit.

Dadi: Really beta? I wonder what she was
doing that made her so tired. I hope you are not over working the poor girl.

Maan: No actually she moved out of Pinky's
house and in with another friend over the weekend. I asked Pinky about it and she was telling me about it. I sent both of them home to rest. They looked
wiped out.
Dadi stared at Maan in amazement. He sent them home instead of screaming at them or worse dismissing them. Her grandson was changing and all
because of that wonderful girl Geet.

Meanwhile Maan was thinking along similar
lines. He questioned himself for the umpteenth time as to why he sent the girl home instead of firing them or yelling at them. But Geet's tired face flashed before
his eyes and he remembered the look of gratitude she had given him when Pinky told her about his decision.

Maan (thinking): Geet is changing me. I don't know why but I can't see her down or sad. I need to distance myself from her before I fall in love with her (too late :P). What do I do? I'll go away. Yes that would be the perfect solution. Main 3 maheenay ke liye London chala jaon ga to manage out international merger. With his mind made up, he informed dadi of his decision.

Dadi (thinking): Main jaanti hun aap aisa
kyun kar rahe hain Maan. You are scared of the feelings you are developing for Geet but main bhi app ki dadi hun. I will not let you run away from your happiness. Just wait and watch, you may pack your bags but you won't be going anywhere, not for a long time.
She grinned to herself and then went off to set some wheels in motion.

Geet paced up and down her cabin, waiting
for Maan to come in, every few minutes, she would peek over into his cabin to check if he had arrived or not. Every passing second increased her apprehension. Mr Always on Time Singh Khurana was exactly 30 minutes late. What if something had happened?

What if he was sick or worse in an accident? Her heart started pounding and her anxiety increased. Meanwhile Maan checked in at the airport and realized he had not informed Geet that he would be out of town for a few
months. His heart immediately had a heated argument with his brain on whether he should let her know or not.

Heart: You should tell her, she must be waiting for you to show up at the office

Head: So what? Let her wait! Who meri biwi
thodi hai k main use inform karun k main kya karta hon aur kya nahi.
while Maan was fighting an internal battle, dadi was putting her scheme into place. Her operation get Maan and Geet together had officially begun. Dadi called her long time friend who was also a cardiologist and came up with a foo proof plan.

Maan was still contemplating on whether he should inform Geet or not and in the end his heart answered for him. He switched his phone on and dialed Geet's office
number.

Geet: Hello! Her tone was subdued and she
sounded worried. Maan's heart was filled with happiness. She was concerned for him! His heart leapt with joy and his face immediately broke out into a smile.

Maan: Woh Geet!

Geet: Oh God Maan sir where are you? Why didn't you call? Do you have any idea how worried I've been? Waise din main you call me a million times for tiny inconsequential things and today you didn't call me even once to let me know if you're running late or not coming in… While Maan was listening to her tirade his phone beeped to let him know that someone else was on the other line.

Maan: Geet hold on for a minute. He answered the phone.

Maan: Hello!

Doctor: Hello Maan beta, I've been trying
to reach you for quite some time now. Your dadi is not feeling well and I think you should get home as soon as possible.
With this cryptic message, the doctor
cut the phone leaving Maan anxious and extremely worried. He quickly went on the other line and informed Geet that he would not be coming in today and ran
towards the exit.

Dadi was sitting up in bed playing cards
with her friend when the servants alerted her to the arrival of Maan. She quickly shoved the cards under her pillow and laid down in a reclined position with her eyes closed. Maan rushed inside and was frightened to see tubes attached to his dadi (all for show of course)

Maan: What happened?

Doctor: Maan she had a mild heart attack.
She is fine now but she needs to be closely monitored. I advise you to stay close to her at all times. Try not to stress her out and please make sure that she does not take too many things on at once.

Maan sat down and ran a hand through his
head. He was tired and had just received a severe blow. The one person that he was close to was sick and if the doctor hadn't called him he would have been on a flight halfway to London. He needed someone to talk to, he neeeded...Geet

so guys this it it..let me know what you think..most of you have been concerned about Armaan being all alone but no worries i'm going to bring Riddhima in soon!!

Recap

Maan sat down and ran a hand through his head. He was tired and had just received a severe blow. The one person that he was close to was sick and if the doctor hadn't called him he would have been on a flight halfway to London. He needed someone to talk to, he needed,…Geet.
Part 8

Geet: Hello

Maan: Geet

Geet: Sir is everything ok? You sound upset. Where are you sir?

Maan: Geet, woh dadi, she is sick. She had a mild heart attack and I wasn't even here. I wasn't at home with her when she needed me.

Geet: Maan… sir, please don't balme yourself. How were you to know that she would get ill. The important thing now is to give her your utmost care and attention. I suggest you take a few days off. I will take care of things here. Please don't worry about the office. Rather you stay with your dadi, and if you need anything, I'm here na.

Maan smiled as he heard her ramble on and on. She was one of a kind, his Geet. Always putting others before herself. He said bye to her and decided to go check on his dadi. He found her sitting up in bed watching her Indian soaps and beat a retreart before she roped him in as well. If there was one thing he hated more than anything in the world, it was those stupid saas bahu dramas his dadi enjoyed so much.

He needed to make arrangements to cover his meeting in London as well. Maan immediately called Sasha and instructed her to pack her bags and go instead of him. Sasha was both elated and angry. Happy that she got to go to London but angry because Miss Hoshiarpur might take advantage of her absence and try to get closer to Maan. She called up her sidekick aka Tasha and left strict instructions to keep Geet away from Maan at all times.

With that done Maan now made arrangements to bring his work to him. So what if he could not go in, all his employees could come to him instead. He convereted his outhouse into a mini KC and sent a memo to all his employees to report to the outhouse instead.

Geet smiled when she got the memo. He was one of a kind, Maan sir, he always had to get his way. And God forbid if he missed work one day. No he would rather work from home than not work at all.

She sighed as she packed her bag to leave for the day. She was supposed to meet Armaan at the mall in an hour. That guy was worse than a kid, he was stubborn, childish and utterly adoreable. He had taken charge of Geet and would not let her do anything by herself.

Sometimes she felt as if he was more excited for the baby than she was. He had asked, no oredered her to meet him at the mall so that they could begin buying stuff for the baby's nursery.

Geet made her way to the mall and found Armaan waiting for her in the food court. The two had a great time laughing and pigging out. Geet had discovered that she had developed at taste for food that she never even eaten before.

Food that Armaan had introduced her to and food that she could no longer live without. She chuckled to herself and sent a prayer of gratitude to babaji for sending Armaan as her guardian angel.

On the other side of the food court sat a girl with tears streaming down her cheek. She watched as the love of her life laughed and smiled with a beautiful girl and her heart broke in two. The pain of losing him had nearly killed him but she had survuved but now she felt as if she would die any second.

She could see that her "Armaan" had moved on with his life. Heck he was probably married now too and had forgotten all about her. Unable to bear the site before her any longer, she got up and ran towards the bathroom. At the same time, Geet got up to go to the bathroom as well.

Geet walked inside the bathroom to wash her hands and heard the sound of quite sobs. She was surprised and a little concerned. She looked around to find who was crying but did not see anyone. She walked past the stalls looking for the person who was in so much pain that they could not suppress their grief. She stopped before the last stall from where the sound originated. She stopped outside and cautiously knocked on the door.

Geet: Umm, hello. She stood outside waiting for a response but heard none. She pushed the door and to her surprise it opened up. She saw a beautiful woman sitting inside crying her heart out.

Riddhima looked up and saw the same girl who had been with Armaan. She wanted to laugh at the irony of the situation. The same girl who was th e source of her tears was here to offer her support. She saw the look of concern on the girls face and tried her level best to hate her but found that she could not. She looked like a sweet young thing, with her plain dressing and the innocence shining in her eyes.

Riddhima: I'm ok, she said offering her a watery smile.

Geet: Of course you are. That's why you're sitting here crying your eyes out. Now stop lying and tell me whats wrong. You will find that I am a good listener. She smiled at Riddhima who sensing the sincerity in her voice could not help but smile back.

Geet: You know what… I've seen you somewhere. But where. Geet pondered over this whie Riddhima tried to think of a plausible story that would allow her to eascape. All of a sudden Geet let out a little scream and looked at Riddhima in astonishement.

Geet: OMG OMG! You are Riddhima! You're Armaan's basket! She jumped up and down in joy doing a little victory dance.

Riddhima: Umm how do you know?

Geet: Are you kidding. All he does is talk about you. Basket this and basket that. I probably know you better than anyone else in the world. Everyone other than Armaan that is. He will simply die when he sees you. Come on lets go! He's right here with me.

Riddhima: But…what..I mean. Riddhima was bewildered. The girl was obviously close to Armaan but she could not understand how she knew him. Given by her reaction, she could not understand her relationship with Armaan.

Riddhima: But I thought you and Armaan. I mean I saw you two outside and…

Geet: You thought me and Armaan were together? Hahahaha. No way! He loves you too much to even look at another girl, she said softly and a wide smile spread across Riddhima's face.

Armaan is my best friend, my brother, my guardian angel and my entire family all wrapped in one. He also happens to be my flat mate and my support system.

Riddhima: I can't face him. Not today. Please don't take me to him. I need time, time to process everything, time to gather my thoughts.

Geet: I understand, she whispered softly. Give me 10 minutes. Let me get rid of Armaan and then we will talk. There is so much I want to tell you. Riddhima nodded and smiled at Geet. She gave her a hug and whispered thank you, a small word but with a wealth of meaning behind it.

Geet exchanged numbers with Riddhima and promised to call her as soon as Armaan left. She then went outside and bumped into Armaan who was pacing up and down in concern.

Armaan: What took you so long?

Geet: Uff oh, now I can't even go to the bathroom without you getting concerned? I'm fine Armaan. I had a long and tiring day at work so I'm totally exhausted. Why don't you go ahead with the shopping and I will wait for you. Once you're done just call me and I'll meet you outside.

Armaan: What? Pehle kyun nahi bataya Geet. We will go home right away! We can always shop another day.

Geet: Nahi Armaan: Waise bhi later on either you will be busy or I will be busy. You go shop. I trust your choice. I am going to sit right here and read. Just call me when you are done and I will meet you at the exit.

Armaan: You sure?

Geet: Haan baba! Now go! Armaan left excited at the prospect of shopping without any interference from Geet. Geet took out her cell phone and called Riddhima, asking her to meet her by the coffee shop. She was soon joined by Riddhima and both of them settled down for a heart to heart chat.

Geet: You start first. Tell me how you got here. And why were you crying in the bathroom. Suddenly a tube light flashed in her head. OMG! You thought me and Armaan… Armaan and me were married didn't you? Is that why you were crying?

Riddhima: Yes, she replied.

Geet: Itna bharosa bhi nahi apne pyaar pe? She asked sadly.

Riddhima: Bharosa hai! Per main kya samajhti Geet? The Armaan who could not live without seeing me, talking to me atleast 5 time a day did not contact me even once in months.

He left me without a word and I've died a thousand deaths each day thinking about him, about us. Wondering if he was safe, if he was still alive. Riddhima broke down again and was comforted by Geet.

Geet: I understand your pain Riddhima. But believe me Armaan is in as much pain as you are. The first time I met him was at the beach where he was sitting talking to your picture. He does that a lot, talk to your picture that is. When he left, he thought he was doing what was best for y ou. I think he failed to realize that just like he can't live without you, you won't be able to live without him.

Riddhima: Please tell me about him. How has he been? He looks thinner to me. I've missed him so much.

Geet: He is fine. He is a great friend to me. He befriended me and accepted me and my faults. A guy like him is hard to find. Please don't let him go.

Riddhima: Never! Both friends exchanged a smile.

Geet: Waise tum dono ki meeting should be dhamake dar. Itna intezar kiya hai tum dono ne, eek din aur kar lo. I want to make a few arrangements first. Saying this she leaned forward to whisper her plan in Riddhima's ear who grinned widely.

Geet and Riddhima parted ways with the promise to talk to each other later that night. Geet purchased a few she needed to put her plan into action. She was brimming with excitement which was noted by Armaan.

He had gone overboard by buying a crib, a high chair, baby clothes. He was having so much fun that had Geet not called him, he would have bought the entire store.

Armaan: You look happy.

Geet: I am happy. They went home and Geet locked herself inside her room and called Riddhima immediately. Outside Armaan could hear Geet talking to someone in hushed tones accompanied by the occasional giggling. He smiled and put the stuff away then went to bed.

The next day Geet reported to work at Maan's outhouse. He noticed that she looked distracted and was constantly texting. He found that highly irritating. Here he could hardly concentrate on his work with his attention constantly on her and she had not even acknowledge his presence.

Maan: GEET! He yelled and suppressed a smile when he saw her jump.

Geet: Jee Sir?

Maan: You've been on your phone for the past 2 hours. What is so important that it can't wait? Do you come to the office to work or to text?

Geet: Na nahi Sir, woh sir, meri puppy beemar hai

Maan: You have a puppy?

Geet: Jee Sir

Maan: If your dog is sick who are you texting? Your dog? She started to nod but then quickly shook her head.

Geet: No Sir. I'm texting my friend. She is looking after my Jaanu.

Maan: Jaanu?!

Geet: Jee Sir my lovely puppy Jaanu. Maan shook his head and Geet heard him mumble something about women, dogs and silly names and smiled to herself. That was a close call, she put her phone down and started working, with a few occasional breaks to check on how Riddhima was doing.
