Recap :''OH NO!!!Yeh maine kya keh diya!''thought the innocent soul,covering her face.
This was one of the million times Geet wished the ground would crack open and swallow her.She had never been this embarrassed,never ever in her life of 26 years - not even when she had her great fall on Prom Night in high school when she was declared the Prom Queen, not even when her clothes tore on the first day of college when she was being ragged,not even when she entered the wrong wedding hall and gave a long speech to the groom for ditching Geet's friend,Pinky and marrying another woman,only to see another idiot behind the sehra.
There was pin-drop silence in the hall for,till NT broke the silence with her laughter. Everyone looked at NT as though she was an alien,especially Maan.He wasn't just looking at him.He was staring at her,to be exact,he was staring daggers at her.''Sorry,bro!Main..khud ko...rok nahi saki!''said NT,laughing.
Dadi too joined in.Soon,everyone was laughing,of course except Maan.Geet released a sigh of relief,''Thank you babaji!!!Tussi sach mein great ho!!!I love you!!Bach gayi!''. Everyone else was back to what they were doing.
Dadi beckoned Geet to sit next to her but Geet was reluctant as Dadi indicated her to sit between her and Maan.She couldn't muster the courage to sit next to the man who was apparently red in anger,staring at her.
She thought to herself,''Isse kya hua?Sunayi nahi deta kya isse?Maine thodi na kaha tha woh sab,woh toh Rajji ne kaha tha!Whatever..mujhe dadi ne bolaya hai,main unke side mein baith rahi hoon in dono ke beech mein nahi...''
So,she speeded her pace and sat next to dadima. Maan received a call so he excused himself and went to the balcony to attend the call.
Dadi - Toh beta,aapka naam kya hai?
Geet - Ji mera naam Geet hai,dadi.
Dadi felt very good upon hearing the word 'dadi' from Geet. She was again grinning and at once Maan recognised from the balcony as he turned around coz he felt as though someone calling him.He beckoned dadi not to do it as he knew what was bubbling in her mind.
Dadi - Aapki umar kya hai,aap karti kya hain? Padhai?
Geet - Meri umar 26 hai.(Dadi mentally said 'Check'.Jee nahi,meri padhai khatam ho gayi. Maine Architecture kiya tha(Again dadima did another 'Check' mentally - I know most of you must be thinking what is this 'Check' business about),lekin main kaam nahi karti hoon kyunki...(She was cut off by Dev who was eavesdropping on their conversation)
Dev - Di,aapne dadi ko kuch khilaya nahi?Arre,woh rasmalai toh try karaiye..bohot acchi hai!(trying to change the topic) He serves dadi some rasmalai and excuses Geet from there.Dev drags Geet to the balcony,not realising Maan's presence,who was attending another call.
Dev - Di,aap pagal ho?Aap dadima ko kya batne wale the?Aapko pata bhi hai kya hojata?
Maan turned around and saw Dev shouting at Geet,however none of them noticed him eavesdropping on them as he immediately hid behind one of the broad pillars.
Geet - Kya Dev?Kya hojata?Tumhari shaadi toot jaati?Nahi na?Toh tum itna kyun gussa ho rahe ho?Unhone poocha toh maine bhi batane lagi.Isme burayi kya hai?Main iss sach ko maan chuki hoon,tum bhi maan lo!Aur waise bhi yeh mere bare mein hain,tumhe isse koi farq nahi padhna chahiye.
Dev was hurt.
Dev- Di,ek hi pal mein mujhe paraya kar diya!Aapne aisa kaise soch liya ki main aapka kuch nahi.Maanta hoon main ki main aapka chota bhai hoon,toh kya iska yeh matlab hai ki mera aappe koi haq nahi?
Geet realised that he was hurt.She hugged her brother and told him,''Nahi beta..aisa kuch nahi hai..Main bas thodi hyper ho jaati hoon jab Pari ki baat aati hai!Main uske khilaaf kuch nahi sun sakti hoon..Sorry baby...ab maan bhi ja..Chal tu jaldi wapas chal nahi toh sab kya sochenge?Chal(she dragged her brother back to the hall)
Maan was shocked.Who was Pari?
