Adil: Jab kaam thik se hota nahi….then why do u even try it?? Ab lag gayi na chot??

Ashna: (stares at him for sum tym….and then speaks up) Do u realize….ur cut is much much deeper than mine!!

At this Adil looks up and gazes deep into her eyes…..and their eyes lock for a while…..as they both seek answers in them!! But after sumtym Ashna looks away…..not being able to stand 'those' eyes anymore….which were again filled wid 'emptiness'!!

However Adil stands up abruptly from the bed….and begins to leave the room….when Ashna calls from behind….

Ashna: I think tumhe ek band-aid laga lena chahiye…..lao main….(and she is abt to proceed towards him but he stops her wid a hand)

Adil: Main baad me kar lunga…..

Saying this he leaves the room….while she was standing there confused. And then her eyes fall on the photo which was broken……she notices now that it was their wedding pic…..that he was holding!!

She bends down and takes the frame in hand…..she cud still find a piece of glass wid a droplet of his blood……She kept staring at it for a while….and then she felt sum droplets of tears on the pic…..She was crying!! But she doesn't knw wat brought those droplets in her eyes!!

Next day…….at office….

Adil seems to be in a hurry…since morning…..he was being hasty in everything…..It was only when he had left to fetch Rashi from the station…..every1 had got an opportunity to sigh in relief!!

However…..in the evening…

Ashna: (is a lil irritated becoz she did a huge amount of work today) Mera aaj ka kaam pura hua…..I'm leaving….tum to baad me aaoge na….main car bhej….

Adil: (cutting her) Excuse me…..u don't tell me u r leaving….I am the one to tell u "U can leave"….which I'm not gonna say as of now….(giving her a file) Ye file lo….aur isse check karo…..

Ashna: Abhi karne ki kya zarurat hai? Kal aa kar kar dungi…waise bhi parso meeting hai na….

Adil: Kal nahi hoga…..

Ashna: Kyun nahi hoga??

Adil: Kyunki maine kaha hai……now pls don't argue….aur jitna kaha hai utna karo…..zyada waqt nahi lagega…..and by then mera kaam bhi khatam ho jayega…..then we can leave together…..waise bhi driver nahi hai….

Ashna: Nahi hai matlab?? Kaha gaya??

Adil: Wud u pls start doing wat u r supposed do…..and pls sawal poochhna bandh karo….mera sir dukhta hai….and again….tumhare saath saath mujhe bhi bahut kaam hai…..so will u pls?

At this Ashna gets extremely irritated….firstly she was very tired and sleepy….and secondly….this was the first tym Adil had answered her bak….he never really does so!! But however she leaves his cabin being perfectly angry……and as soon as she leaves…Shekhar enters his cabin….

Shekhar: Isse kya hua? Aisa lag raha tha jaise Tsunami guzri mere samne se…..(at this Adil looks at him in a manner that says 'Shut up') Achha sorry…..main to kuch zaruri discuss karne aya tha….

Adil: Hmm….do that fast…..kyunki mujhe tumse ek behadh zaruri kaam hai….

After a while…Ashna storms in Adil's cabin…..and both Adil n Shekhar look up in shock…..

Ashna: Ye lo tumhara file…..(she keeps the file on his table)

Adil: U r done wid it?

Ashna: Haan….and ye bilkul perfectly kiya hai maine……becoz I knw my job well…samjhe? So rest assured….filhaal tumhe barbaad karne ka koi plan nahi hai mera……..but then kehne ka kya fayda….tum waise bhi isse double check karoge….however that's surely not my concern…..mujhe bas itna batao…tumhara kaam khatam hua ya nahi?

Adil: (too shocked to react properly….so just answers her question) Nahi…..

Ashna: Gr8!! Tum yehi baithe raho….main jaa rahi hu….Taxi se….tumhari car tumhi ko Mubarak…..(and she turns to leave)

Adil: Jaa rahi ho matlab?

Ashna: Hindi samajh me nahi ati?? Jaa rahi hu…..means I am leaving!! And this tym I am just not gonna stop……(murmurs to herself) Uff….sir me dard ho raha hai…..

Adil: Achha ruko….let me wind up my work……am coming wid u….

Ashna: Maine kaha na….main chali jaungi…huh!! (and she leaves in a huff)

Adil: Aaj isse achanak kya hua?? Aisa to kabhi nahi karti….

Shekhar: Aap khud aisa kabhi nahi karte Sir….

Adil: Matlab?

Shekhar: Arre subah se tum 'bossy' behave kar rahe ho yaar…..saare employees aaj darr darr ke kaam kar rahe the…..aur itne me agar aap apni biwi ko employee ki tarah treat karoge….to wo aise hi react karegi na?

Adil: Simply meaningless!! But anyways….I am leaving…..pls tum sab kuch….

Shekhar: Yeah yeah….I will do everything…..

And even before he cud finish…..Adil storms out of his cabin…..and rushes to the parking lot and gets the car!! He was pretty much positive Ashna wud not hav got a taxi yet….firstly becoz getting a taxi….was always a tough job…..and secondly becoz.....Ashna was too agitated ryt then to get a taxi……

As he gets to the street….he cud see Ashna walking along the right side of the road…..her strides said she was too angry…..and Adil doubted if she had even tried to get a taxi…..However he takes the car by her side….being on the left side…..

Adil: Get in the car….

Ashna: Samajhte kya ho tum? Gulaam hu tumhari jo tumhare kehne se car me aa jaungi?

Adil: Maine aisa nahi kaha….pls ye sab bachkani harkat chhoro….aur car me baith jao….waise bhi tumhe koi taxi nahi milegi….

Ashna: Tumhe kaise pata?? Future predict kar sakte ho kya?? Nahi na….then just shut up…

Adil just murmurs to himself "Isse aaj hua kya hai??"

Just then a car zooms by her side in full speed….and Adil's heart skips a beat……Being extremely angry he gets out of the car…..but as soon as he turns towards her……he finds her standing in shock…..becoz her saree was now all muddy!! She was having a cute angry expression on her face….which made him SMILE!! No matter how hard he tried……he cudnt stop that curving of his lips…..and god knws how….it fitted the definition of Smile!!

But however that lasted for abt a fraction of a second….and then again he had composed himself…..he crossed the road and went to her in full anger……while she backed off a bit….

Adil: Wat is all this Ashna? U never behave like that!! U r a sensible smart girl ryt? U do understand its not a very wise idea to keep standing here and w8 for a dam taxi…..u knw this is India…..and getting a transport is not a piece of cake out here…….u realize that well….dont u? (Ashna just makes faces at his words instead of replying) Achha….I knw tum mujhse naraz ho…….and I am sorry!! (Ashna just looks away at this while Adil just sighs) Pls car me jaa kar baitho…..ghar chalte hai….phir main aapko band baaje ke sath 'sorry' bolta hu….thik hai? (he said getting absolutely pissed off)

Ashna: (smirks) Kis kis baat ke liye sorry bologe Mr. Adil Raichand? Aur tumhare sorry bolne se kya kya thik ho jayega?

At this Adil looks at her…..while she stares into his eyes in a challenging way……But after sumtym it was Adil who averted his gaze……becoz he cudnt stand those questions and helplessness of HER eyes!! However Ashna walks towards the car…..and after a second….Adil gets in as well….and drives away!!

Inside the car…..it was perfect silence obviously…..but Adil was taking glances at her in intervals…..she did look extremely exhausted…..and was resting her head behind!!

Main bhi na!!…..Usse sach me itna kaam ek din me karne ki adaat nahi hai…….she does look tired…..

Uff mera sir kitna dukh raha hai….dekha Papa….apka Adil mujhse kitna kaam karwata hai….dil kar raha hai…..iske sir pe zor se ek hathora maaru…..phir pata chalega sir dard hone se kaisa lagta hai…..upar se poochhta hai…. "aise kyun behave kar rahi ho"…..huh!!

Reaching home….Ashna changes quickly and crushes on the bed…..she was too tired to even think of Rashi…….let alone meet her……who was bak today!!

Here Adil sits on the bed….watching her as she had dug her face into the pillow…..to enjoy a sound sleep…..But as he keeps staring at her face…..which was glowing in the dark room……he gets lost….

Adil closes his eyes gently…..and leans bak on the head-rest…….

There was a stint of pain in his chest……he had felt this pain after so long……but this was never meant to happen…….the droplets of tears that thereaten to fall from his eyes…..are never meant to be shed…..never!!

[Movie: LAMHAA]

After a while Adil opens his eyes….and looks outside……it was almost dawn……the sun was abt to rise…..and the day was abt to begin…..He gets up from the bed and spares a glance towards Ashna who was asleep till then. Wid sum thoughts playing over his mind….he averts his gaze away from her…..and leaves the room.

At abt 8:30 in the morning….Ashna wakes up….and thinks that she is already late for office….and now Adil is gonna shower her wid his lectures!! However…..she goes out of the room….to find sum arrangements being done. And then…..she comes to knw that there is going to be a 'puja' for Mr. Raichand's death anniversary.

Oh….tab to aaj office nahi jana hai…… (after a thought) kya wo isliye kal itna zor de raha tha? Hmm…yehi reason hoga….lekin wo mujhe bata sakta tha na…..agar bata deta to aaj itni der tak nahi so rahi hoti….aur naa hi….kal se usse itna curse karti……

Just then Ashna notices Rashi…and realizes she is bak…..and she also understands why Adil was so eager to bring her bak by yesterday!!

Rashi: Hello Bhabhi…

Ashna: (smiles) Gud to see you bak….kal shyam ko ayi?

Rashi: Nahi….dopahar ko….AB hi to gaye the pick karne!!

Ashna: Oh…actually kal main kuch zyada hi busy thi…..maine dhyan nahi diya hoga….

After sumtym….all is set for the 'puja' but Adil is still not here. So Ashna keeps looking at the doorway to see if he is coming…..but there was no sign of him…..Later on Rashi notices her looking at the entrance in intervals….

Rashi: Kya hua Bhabhi? Aap bahar kya dekh rahi hai?

Ashna: Wo…puja ka waqt ho raha hai na….Adil nahi aya?

Rashi: Bhabhi….AB kabhi iss puja me shaamil nahi hote….Dadi ko pasand nahi hai na…..(she gives a sad smile while Ashna is shocked) Chaliye…hum chalte hai….

So finally Adil doesn't come for the 'puja'……nor does he return home the whole day!! Ashna was really confused….and a bit worried as well…..becoz he wasn't answering calls too. Finally Ashna goes to Rashi….

Ashna: Rashi….Adil kab tak lautega pata hai?

Rashi: AB to waise bhi der se ate hai na Bhabhi….

Ashna: Haan….lekin tab to wo office me hota hai….aaj to office nahi gaya….abhi tak nahi aya…..itni der se kaha hoga?

Rashi: Don't worry Bhabhi….wo thik honge….har saal aisa hi hota hai…..he will be bak….aaj ke din to Mom bhi unka w8 karte karte so jati hai…..But AB gets bak really late…..wo aaj kisise baat bhi nahi karte hai…..he spends this day wid himself only!! Aap bhi tension mat lijiye Bhabhi…..kyunki w8 karne ka koi fayda nahi hoga…..

Ashna: Lekin aisa kyun hai Rashi? Adil apne hi father ke 'barsi' par nahi hai……Dadi usse jitna bhi gussa ho….ye haq kaise chin sakhti hai wo? Adil ka haq banta hai iss puja me shaamil hona…hai na? To phir kyun?

Rashi: Iss 'kyun' ka jawab maine bhi kayi saal dhunda hai Bhabhi…..par koi fayda nahi hua….AB iss bare me bilkul baat nahi karte……aur Dadi to bas ek hi baat liye baithi hai….

Ashna: Kaunsi baat?

Rashi: Wo Papa ke accident k liye AB ko zimmedaar manti hai……actually as far as I knw…..AB ko bachate hue Papa ki accident hui thi…..to ussi wajah se Dadi…..AB se baat nahi karti…..aur unse itni kati kati rehti hai……Papa Dadi ke ek laute bete the na…..shayad isliye wo aaj tak uss dhakke se bahar nahi ayi hai….

Ashna: Lekin ye to ghalat hai na….Adil ke saath….!!

Rashi: AB ki to baat hi mat kijiye Bhabhi…..unhe iss bare me kuch kahu to kehte hai….. "Agar Dadi ko mujhse yu khafa rehna achha lagta hai……agar unhe isse shanti milti hai…..to aisa hi sahi"…..I just don't understand his point…….in fact unki kuch baatein main kabhi samajh nahi pati…..

Ashna: (lost in her thoughts) Main to uski koi bhi baat samajh nahi pati….

Rashi: Kya?

Ashna: Nahi….kuch nahi!! Tum kuch keh rahi thi na?

Rashi: Bas…yehi ki AB ko ek hadh ke baad samajhna mumkin nahi hota…..lekin chahe job hi ho…..mujhe itna yakeen hai wo jo bhi kar rahe hai….jo bhi karenge….wo hamesha sahi hoga……so I just let it be….. (Ashna just smiles at her words) Aap bhi pareshan mat hoiye Bhabhi…...aap jaa kar so jaiye….u look tired….

Ashna: Tired main nahi….tum ho….isliye tum so jao….main chalti hu….(Rashi nods her head and Ashna stands up….but taking a few steps ahead she turns bak again) Rashi….u r sure na….wo thik hoga?

Rashi: (smiles at her concern) Jee Bhabhi….sab thik hi hoga….har saal AB aisa hi karte hai….tension wali baat nahi hai….

Ashna: Okay…..then tum so jao……gud night!!

But no matter wat….Ashna was a lil worried….the fact that he was away since morning….and none knew where he was…….didnt really please her much!! Yet there was nothing she cud do…..so she tried to get sum sleep…..though slightest sound wud wake her up….anticipating Adil was bak!!

Here Adil was sitting inside a 'mandir'……he was leaning bak on a pillar…stretching out one leg to the front…….while drawing the other leg closer to himself……to rest his arm on the knee!! He just closes his eyes a bit….and that's when the priest calls him…

Priest: Beta…..phir aaj ke din der se lautoge?

Adil just manages a small smile……and getting the ans the priest leaves. And now Adil turns his gaze towards the sky…….staring at it wud make him feel much closer to his 'baba'……that's why whenever he is confused or tensed…..he tends to stare at the sky. This might not help him to take decisions….but this wud definitely soothe his weary self!!

Kitna waqt guzar gaya hai Baba……..kehne ko kitna kuch badal gaya hai…..lekin phir bhi kuch nahi badla……itne saalon se main kuch nahi kar paya. Log kehte hai….mujhe haarna nahi ata……par jeet bhi kaha naseeb hui hai mujhe? In fact kabhi kabhi to har taraf haar hoti hai…..….sirf haar…..

And Adil looks down at his palm…….closely observing the lines drawn on it……and trying to make out wat it held for him. But as usual there was no ans for him….and he slowly formed a fist……defining his helplessness!!
