"You didn't have to do this to us Mayank really"Gunjan said exasperatedly.The sudden appearance of Nupur back into their lives was not comfortable for either of Gunjan or Samrat with the result that Samrat refused even to show up ."She didn't care Mayank'I don't know what to'you are just impossible'do you remember anything"Gunjan was now on the verge of tears with her emotions taking over her anger .Mayank opened his mouth slightly but was cut off again "No I won't understand or I do not want to understand at all"Gunjan said striking her hair off her face"Now Gunjan calm down please relax okay !!!Mayanak said keeping one of her hands on her shoulder and trying to look at her face comprehending her emotions.Gunjan truly loved Nupur and Mayank knew that,he has seen them over the years they actually were more closer to each other than sisters tend to be due to the fact that they lost their mother early in their life and their father being away for work.Their bond had grown stronger then ever so only it was natural for Gunjan to react this way when her sister decided to leave all of a sudden.He had seen her luring for her ideal life where her sister should always have been besides her during her marriage,her daily life,the day when Roshni came to their lives but unfortunately it was all empty,all the wonderful moments spent without her presence.Mayank knew Gunjan was desperate to get her sister back in her not so perfect life but it would take some time for her to come around."Mayank I'll talk to you later since Samrat is alone at home with Roshni and I don't want to go back home to a heap of mess but we are not finished and you have got to explain"Gunjan said hurriedly while shooting daggers at Mayank.Mayank thought better not to argue and hugged her saying "Okay I will definitely" bidding her goodbye.He had not expected Gunjan to turn up suddenly in his office.He himself needed sometime to explain everything to Gunjan,Samrat and Dadi.

"Stop doing that"Nupur said amused yet trying to act serious"What?"Adhiraj said smiling.He was continuously deranging the files that Nupur was trying to arrange from the past 20 minutes.Nupur giggled saying"Your day is incomplete without annoying me right?"."And you day is incomplete without ignoring me right?"Adhiraj said blocking her way smiling.Working with Adhiraj for seven months,Nupur became friends with him over the time and was quite used to his little pranks and some more jokes.He was someone fun to be with,despite the fact that he was Mayank's closest friend Nupur felt comfortable and more of herself around him.Being at the office for so long she was used to the kind of work she had to deal with at Mayank's office,her studies were going smoothly as never before and she decided not to intermingle her office work with her studies and engage herself in chores she was being paid for.Adhiraj was great help in all this time,he helped her through everything.

"Can you go to the caf with me after you are done with the meeting thingy?I need to have a coffee,I am having a serious headache have been working all night on this stupid project"Adhiraj said setting his file on the desk and seating himself."Oh okay ! I will"Nupur said smiling while moving towards the door.She was happy with life,thanks to Adhiraj that Mayank could not tease her all the time due to his presence but still they were under the same roof and she certainly couldn't avoid him all the time.Mayank knows how to find his way to her and after all these months she was kinda used to this.

"You knew this too Dadi?Why is everyone doing this to me?"Gunjan said sulkily looking away,the idea of she being the last to know of her own sister seemed too horrible and she was hell angry with everyone."Guni baby I seriously didn't know what to do.I was surprised too but don't know what's on Mayank's mind and I don't want to mess up with him after all that happened in the past.I want him to make his decisions himself,do whatever he want to"Dadi said comforting Gunjan while keeping one of her hands on hers."Do you think they want to be together yet again"Gunjan said wide eyed inferring the statement."I have no idea.I was suspicious of that but nothing happened till now and I guess it isn't something like that.They're just trying to make up for the horrible mistakes they both made"Dadi said thoughtfully.

"Side"Nupur said calmly looking here and there trying to avoid Mayank's eyes "But you have not yet answered my question"Mayank said smiling and blocking her away across the desk,the conference room now empy with bits of parchments spread on the desk haphazardly."Mayank I do not think I had to answer the question you come up with every now and then.How can you expect me to go out with you,you'you seriously have lost your mind,you want to start that relationship again which both of us abandoned long ago?Nupur said looking straight into his eyes.Mayank was finally doing what he intended to do from long enough and was continuously asking her out from quite sometime now and which to some extent Nupur has foreseen and was waiting for him to take the move but she never thought what her answer would be,at that time she was confused whether or not to return back to him since she now agrees that a part of her really wanted to get back to the person she desired more than anything in her life.Situation changed overtime,now she was apprehensive about their relationship.Will it really work out now?they failed previously and nothing has changed since than except for the superiors ,their heart remains the same so that means Mayank would still prefer the worldly pleasures on her and that's what made her came to her decision "No Mayank ..its a big fat NO"Nupur said silencing him by motioning her hand."You know better I am not taking that answer"Mayank said pushing her on the desk which made Nupur jerk with his sudden move and she tried to balance herself keeping both of her hands on the desk."You and I both know well that we love each other'please Nupur don't let all this resentment come between us"Mayank said desperately trying to make Nupur convince keeping both his hands on her shoulder."Here you are..the same stubborn,arrogant yourself"Nupur said heatedly when suddenly they heard noises,someone was coming this way."We cannot be seen together like this 'all alone'"Nupur said nervously "I cannot let another problem erupt in my life" with that she tugged at the front of his suit and made him bow down to hide beneath the desk.Oh God please don't let them see us she was thinking nervously when Mayank tugged at her chiffon purple veil which made her fall.."What the he'" "..sshhh".They both laid there when the door creaked open and certain voices could be heard,they were looking for some papers.Nupur's heart beat raised,standing there was one thing but what if they saw them in this situation,this was worst than she imagined.She looked at Mayank miserably and all he can do was expect them to go,there was no other way.They were too close as they stared into each others eyes,close enough so that Mayank can hear Nupur's fastened heart beat.These few seconds seemed like ages when they kept looking at each other unaware of the world around them.Their love had always been superior to every other decision in their lives,all they though was about eac hothers happiness and benefits and that was a pure truth that cannot change despite the ongoing situations.Nupur slowly raised her hand and cupped one of Mayank's cheeks out of impulse,she didn't knew what made her do that but it seemed perfect at that moment just he and herself while he kept staring at her,slightly shocked by her move he saw her hand by the corner of his eyes,her tender touch was something he missed all these years,her warmth,the love he once received.He too raised one of his hands slowly to cover her hand on his cheeks while looking at her with pure love when they heard laughter and Nupur broke the eye lock and started looking for the people from the corner of eyes while Mayank was still looking intently at her,his heart surging with love and affection for the girl lying just close to him.It was becoming impossible for him to keep his feelings locked and he was trying with everything he can do to make Nupur understand how he felt about her but she was neither budging nor responding to his silent affection exhibition.He heard the door close aloud above them and he knew they were gone now.Nupur slightly removed his hands from her waist and sat ignoring Mayank's stare,she felt highly uncomfortable being this close to him and it occurred to her what had she just done when she was determined not to let him make his way through her.Fidgeting with her veil she tried standing up but Mayank pulled her slightly to face her and panick went through her"You love me and you know that..then why pretend?"Mayank said with a straight face while Nupur stared at him.He was right somehow there was a part of her which told her that she really loves him and life would be somehow impossible without him being in life but she remained rooted to her decision no matter how much her heart was trying to persuade her she would not surrender.Standing slowly she moved out of the room while Mayank sat there still ,covering his face with his hands.

"Ananya ! Oh yes why did it took this long to dawn this upon me"Dadi said excitedly clapping her hands together.Gunjan was utterly confused and slightly taken aback "This cannot happen"she said hurriedly."Why not Guni baby'you were planning this me"Dadi said astonished to why was she backing away from what she herself started."I didn't'I mean'I didn't want to'."Gunjan said fighting with her words."Ah come on'stick to your statement,the idea was what I was trying to put into action for long now but I guess its time now"Dadi said gleaming at Gunjan.On the other hand Gunjan was lost in her thoughts and her inwards were constricting.This wasn't what she had intented to say,panick took over her.Was she ruining everything for Mayank?

"You are late"Adhiraj said straight faced sitting in the office caf with his arms folded across his chest.Nupur was still lost in her thoughts,she was utterly confused and was angry with her own self for acting stupid'Why in the world can't she get a grip on herself?"Hellooo'."Adhiraj said waving his hand in front of her face breaking her revery"I am sorry Adhiraj 'just got caught up you know"Nupur said making a puppy face which made Adhiraj skip a heart beat.It were these little gestures that made him feel always being with her.The caf was full of colleagues as it was lunch time and Adhiraj and Nupur sat somewhere off the middle."Are you okay?"Adhiraj asked Nupur out of concern his face wrinkled and Nupur then realized that she was showing a little too much of inside of her"Oh yes completely fine"Nupur said smiling.They chatted along smilingly,joking about everything yet nothing and Nupur laughed as she had never before and thought that Adhiraj really can take her mind off things'things she was determined to avoid,to stop thinking about the fuss that her heart was so enthusiastic to create."You know I didn't meet Suhaani past weekend because of this stupid conference'and I am sure she'll kill me the next time I show up at her door"Nupur said both groaning and laughing slightly.After going through certain papers from the past half and hour,Mayank finally signed them and moved out of the office keeping the file at assistants desk he moved his way towards the caf to get himself something to drink.The caf was loaded with people with the lunch hour still going on,after smiling back at few people he got himself a coffee and was about to leave when he spotted Nupur a few tables aside laughing heartily,he smiled seeing her and tried to look at the person with whom she was chatting.Moving a bit forward he was surprised to the scene infront of him,Adhiraj was teasing Nupur about something and Nupur was hitting him on the shoulder still laughing."You stupid idiot,you kept that dreadful letter on my table that almost took half the life out of me"Nupur said hitting him but still laughing while Adhiraj was trying to shield himself.Mayank felt as if he was going to lose his temper anytime soon,his fists close tightly around the cup he was carrying.He wanted to smack Adhiraj in his face right now but he knew he musn't."It was not that difficult you know'.."He said shrugging off to annoy Nupur all the more."Adiii''.."Nupur said smacking him now annoyed more as intented by him.Mayank felt a surge of anger and hatred crossing through him while Adhiraj and Nupur still struggled infront of his eyes.Keeping hold of both of her wrists Adhiraj stopped her and looked into her eyes intently while Nupur frowned at him while he said his laughter replaced by a smile"Because you are too adorable and too innocent".A monster roared inside of Mayank somewhere he was trying to control from the past few minutes and he rushed out of the caf throwing his cup in the near bin ignoring everyone on his way.Nupur felt gush of uncomfort and took her wrists back sitting straight without looking back at Adhiraj while Adhiraj was smiling still gazing at her affectionately.

Mayank's head was now pounding with anger and frustration,he wanted to strangle Adhiraj there and then no matter how much close he was as a friend.He just could not imagine the fact that both of them were really drewing closer together that they were actually that close friends.Apprehension now took over Mayank do Adhiraj really like Nupur?or were they already seeing each other?When Nupur said she was dating someone,was that supposed to be the truth?No no that cannot be true Nupur really loves me.Yes Mayank you saw that yourself in her eyes,in her incomprehensible gestures'may be Adhiraj was fascinated by here and she has no clue about all this.His head was still pounding and he wanted to hit someone badly to take off all the irritation and hatred inside of him.Nupur was trying to avoid him after that small incident in the conference room and Mayank had made his mind that he was going to talk this out with Nupur.

Mayank pulled Nupur to the nearest empty cabin when he finally caught hold of her and closed the door behind them.The cabin was small with a small shelf,a desk and a chair infront of a wide window and several parchments sticked to the wall."What do you think you are doing?"Nupur struggled her way past him to open the door and Mayank pushed her back"Who do you think you are palying at huh?"Mayank asked his fury out of bounds."Mayank get straight to the point and leave me..you're hurting me"Nupur said tugging at her arm."Are you dating someone"Mayank said furiously his gaze piercing through Nupur which made her realize that she better not play this time."No'."Nupur said suddenly"but I am free to do so and you are no one to ask me that question bossing around me.I will date whomever I want to and that certainly can't be you Mayank why don't you understand this simple point"she said looking back at him,her temper rising too."If you think I am bossing around then yes I am and you better not eye anyone.."He said intently while Nupur stared at him amazed at why in the world was he so angry.What has happened to annoy him to this extent?"..or you''ll face the circumstances'"Mayank said moving closer to her face and pointing finger at her"'and only you shall be responsible for all the results then"He said with finality retreating and moving out of the cabin shutting the door with bang behind him.Nupur stood there frozen at her place,she had not seen Mayank angry since they've met after that long break and his attitude seemed so different just now,he was so loving just a few hours ago,showering her with affection and almost making her rethink her decision and it was like upside down now. Was he venting someone else's anger on her or was he really curious about her status and what made him think so seriously that I am dating someone Nupur thought.
