UPDATE 21

Since Sid had worked a double shift the night before and had a shift this morning he got off work earlier than Ridz. So on his way home he stopped by her cabin to ask if she wanted him to come by and pick her up when she was done. He walked up to her cabin door and as he was about to knock on the door he saw that his wife was indeed busy, but not with the things he thought she would be with. His dear wife was sitting at her desk with a giant 1000 watt smile on her face the tip of her pen sitting at the corner of her lovely lips and her eyes lost in thoughts somewhere. Sid knew exactly what his wife was thinking about and he was even gladder he had the next few hours free so that he could pull one over on her. He gently knocked on her door and she totally ignored it, so he tried again. After the third miss he just walked in and even then she was not broken from her reverie. So Sid walked up next to her and leaned in to kiss her cheek. It wasn't until his lips made contact with her cheek that she jumped back in surprise, "What the??? Oh Sid! You scared me." Sid smiled and said smugly, "Sorry, I couldn't resist. You looked too cute lost in thoughts of me." Riddhima blushed at being caught and tried to deny, "I was soooo not thinking of you. I was thinking about...about seeing Di after so long, you know it will be nice to be able to talk without having to hear static or worry about batteries dying." She felt proud of the save she had made, but of course Sid knew her better than anyone else, "I am sure that's whom you were thinking about with that dreamy look in your eyes. You forget I grew up with a little sister and the look you had on your face was reserved only for crushes and boyfriends. NOT sisters."

Ridz gave Sid an innocent look and replied, "Okay, busted. You are right I was thinking about my boyfriend, I was devising a plan on how to get away with him". Sid pretended to look offended, "And here I came to ask my dear wife if she wanted her personal chauffeur to drive her home and what do find out instead? That she wants to ditch me to see her boyfriend?" He turned a sullen looking face away from her. Ridz got up out of her chair and stood in front of him and tried to get him to make eye contact with her. He wouldn't so she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek as she whispered to him, "I'm sorry baba. I was just joking." Sid simply turned his head in the opposite direction both to pretend he was upset and to hide the slight smile forming on his lips. Ridz leaned up to kiss Sid on his other cheek where she continued, "I am a married woman, and soon to be remarried so I have no need for other men. Besides you should be happy I am thinking of my boyfriend."

Sid scoffed and turned to look at her in shock. Before he could get a response out she continued, "You see he is the only one I can think about especially since he said yes to my proposal last night." It was then when Sid got that the "boyfriend" Ridz was talking about was him. He immediately got a grin on his face and he placed his hands on her hips as he asked, "Hmmm so YOU asked HIM." Ridz hit him on the shoulder and said, "Shut up budhu." Sid retorted with, "Make me." So instead of hitting him like he expected her to she leaned forward, and mumbled, "Oh I will" just before she kissed him square on the lips. After Sid got over the surprise he pulled Ridz closer and deepened the kiss. After a few minutes Ridz was the one to break their kiss apart and as she stepped back with a sigh she said, "I have been dreaming about that all afternoon. Now maybe I can focus on my work." Sid was still at a loss of words so he pulled her back to him and initiated the kiss again. They once again lost themselves in each other. Finally Sid pulled back and has he licked his lips he said, "Mmmm now that's the apologize I deserve." Ridz was still trying to catch her breath as Sid got up he gently pushed her down so that she would sit in her chair, he then leaned down to kiss her on her cheek and whispered, "Goodbye sweetheart I will be back to pick you up after your shift is done." As Sid walked to the door all Ridz could do was nod her head in agreement and watch him leave.

Sid walked out to his car with a grin on his face. He had simply gone to let Ridz know that he was leaving, but that he would be back to pick her up and instead he got a delicious treat instead. He got in his car and headed to work on his real surprise for his wife. On his way home he got a call and he picked up to hear, "Hello my soon to be Jiju again. I hear congratulations are in order." Sid smiled upon hearing his sister-in-laws voice, "Hello, Angie-Jee how are you? So nice of you to remember your brother finally." Angie laughed at the nickname Sid always called her with to show his respect and the fact that they had clicked faster than Ridz and him had, "Oh shut up, my dear Jee-Ju I just talked to you last week. In fact I have talked to you more in the past month than my own sister. So you should feel blessed. By the way when Ridzy found out about that yesterday she got so upset that I had to promise her I would come home a whole two weeks early for your re-shaadi." Sid laughed at the stubbornness of his wife, "Well I told you saali-ji that if you wanted to be my aadhi ghar wali you had better be able to keep it our secret otherwise my malkin will kick not just your butt but mine as well."

Angie laughed at Sid's comment and then said, "So since I will be arriving two weeks early I figured I would come a day before I told Ridzy and surprise her, I could always use extra brownie points. Plus I'd love to be around for all the shopping and preparations." Sid smiled and responded, "Is this your round about way of asking if I would be a part of your surprise and pick you up from the airport? All you have to do is ask my sweet and spicy saali." Angie scoffed initially and then cracked up at yet another random nickname Sid had come up with, "All right, yes Jeej that is exactly what I was trying to ask, so you in?" Sid replied, "Of course I am, I love springing surprises, especially on Riddhima. In fact you called me just as I was about to set up my next surprise for Riddhima." Angie replied with, "Ooooo what are you up to brother in law, spill it to me, I love dirt." Sid laughed, "Of course I'm up to something after that whopper of a surprise Ridz threw on me, now I need to top her. And since you are my favorite big sister I will tell you." Sid proceeded to fill Angie in on his surprise for Ridz as he drove home.

Ridz picked up her last file and glanced up at the clock and saw that it was already 8pm. After Sid had left it had taken her another half hour to refocus, but once she had she had found that those two kisses she had gotten were definitely the thing she needed. They helped get her thorough all her paper work. As she began her last write up she decided to call Sid to let him know she was close to done so that she could leave immediately and get home and eat dinner. She picked up the phone and dialed but the phone came back busy, so she left him a voicemail letting him know why she'd called and to call her back as soon as he got it. Ten minutes later Sid called back, "Hey Riddhima, you almost done? I am on my way to the hospital I should be there in fifteen." Ridz confirmed that she was done and told him to just park out front and that she would meet him at the car. Sid asked how hungry she was and if she could hold off for another thirty minutes or so cause he wanted to go out to eat. Ridz told him, "I guess I could suck it up for you, but I definitely need something small to hold me over for the trip." Sid responded with, "But of course love, and don't worry I have already thought of it, would some chocolate subside your hunger for a bit." Upon hearing the words chocolate Ridz quickly signed her note, closed her file and grabbed her things and was out the door as she demanded from Sid, "Are you outside right now? Because you said the magic word and I need to satisfy my craving...NOW." Sid chuckled as he pulled up in front of the hospital and got out of the car and walked to her side of it to open the door. She ran up to the car and held her hand out with demand shining in her eyes. Sid stood strong though, "Nope no chocolate for you until you satisfy my craving." His eyes twinkled and he turned his cheek towards her. Ridz quickly calculated in her head the benefits and risks of slapping him instead of giving him what he wanted. She realized that the quickest way to get the chocolate was to just give in so she leaned forward gave him a quick peck and then stood back with one arm crossed across her chest and the other held out. Sid smiled and handed Ridz her chocolate and then stepped aside to open her door and let her in. They both got in the car and headed towards their destination.
