Part 20 Page - 137

Recap - After leap of 15 years in the story ; Mayank tells Agastya truth about their relation . Nupur was in dilema but decided that he couldnt let her son curse his father , when he is no lnger the same person . She made Agastya read Mayank's letter and asked Agastya to follow his heart , if he wanted to call Mayank back . Mayank came back but Nupur couldnt bring herself to face him . Agastya realised the turmoil between his parents and he feels guilty.

PART - 21

Nupur sneaked to Agastya's room as silently as she could only to find both Mayank and Agastya sleeping comfortably ..she decided to take her steps back but then she went against it.
She moved foward and kneeled down next to Agastya ..she lovingly stroked his forehead to ease out the frown he had .. and slowly it was replaced with a content face. Nupur kissed him lightly and turned to go but she felt a tug in her arm .

She turned and saw Mayank holding her wrist ..
''We need to talk '' he practically whispered ..and Nupur nodded to him . Mayank left her hand and she moved out of the room with her fingers rubbing her wrist ...It surprised her that she could recognise his touch after span of so many years and she is still not able to let it go ..

Maybe this is what she wanted as the last answer to all her questions .

Mayank and Nupur were both standing at the terrace ..it was calm out there , quite contrary to the condition of both .
''Nupur'' Mayank said finally takig in some courage ..
She turned to face him wih hardky any fear of him anymore ..

''We are not helping Agastya '' he stated as clearly as he could ''why did u allow Agastya to call me over here ?''
He couldnt possibly be sure that Nupur will brighten up the flicker of hope in his heart but that didnt mean , he wont try .
Nupur was surprised as the things came direct on her face while she didnt expect Mayank to be so straight-foward ..first time she saw him asking her without the power of owing her or wanting her .. it just to know her !

''I dont know Mayank '' Mayank was glad that she addressed him by his name and not by sirname '' I just couldnt see Agastya in a turmoil ..He needed you '' she stated calmly.

''But the way things are going , it will lead to Agastya feeling guilty ..''
''I know what you are trying to say but..'' Nupur tried to come out with her thoughts but she couldnt put them ''..i dont know '' she murmured

''Nupur ..'' Mayank sighed '' cant you give me a chance ?''
Nupur looked at his eyes , which used to haunt her for years but now they dint seem scary ..she was fine with him

'' Mayank i have forgiven you long before ''
Mayank's joy had no bounds ..he waited all these years to hear those words from Nupur and when it came , he didnt know what to do .
''Thanx Nupur.. U dont know how much less burdened i feel now .'' Mayank said while Nupur just smiled weakly ''I think we should start fresh ..everything..''

''Mayank ''
Nupur interrupted him '' I am sorry if i hurt u ..but Forgiving didnt mean that i Forgot everything..i cant Mayank '' Nupur said trying to control the lump
''Nupur ..how much time.. ? I am changed ..what else ?'' Mayank said with desperation and bit irritation
'' Mayank i never gave u any hope and I know you are a changed person but i cant forget anything Mayank ..Its not possible ''
''But why ?'' Mayank said it aloud and immideately regretting those words '' Nupur ..i didnt mean ''

She leaned against the wall and looked at the moon above ..
''Its ok ..but I cant . I never wanted you to come back in my life , i always wanted to take Agastya back from your arms , whenever you came to visit him ... I always wanted to shove you off by telling that u are his dad.. I knew once i tell him , he'll never talk to you again but i just couldnt come myself to do that ... Somehow deep down , i cherished your relation with Agastya and thats why i never told him the truth . But when you did ..things changed and Agastya was torn between us ..U did no wrong to him and i am no one to snatch you away from him , when you are a changed person... ''
Mayank interrupted
''What do you want then ? Everything cant happen like you want ! I have been throu this guilt for so many years and still you cant trust me '' Mayank shouted while clenching her shoulders
'' U went throu pain ! U went throu guilt !..what about me Mayank ? what about me ? '' Nupur shouted back and shoved his hands away
''Everyday i saw Agastya looking at his friend's father and silently wishing for his ...everyday i saw Agastya looking for answers in my eyes ...everyday i saw Agastya cry to himself , just to not let me go throu pain ...Did you realise how helpless i was ? how torn i was in situation where i wanted to shout to him that his Uncle sharma is no other but his father , then i never wanted him to feel himself as a result of a mistake committed by his father . Do you realise this Mr.Sharma ?'' tears streaming down her eyes

Mayank felt like digging a hole and vanishing inside it ..he was speechless
'' Thats it Mayank , i cant forget what you did to me and will never ..''
With this Nupur stormed away from terrace , leaving guilt-striken Mayank standing alone

Next morning ..

Agastya woke up to find Mayank sleeping peacefully , he smiled but it soon vanished as he thought about Nupur.. without waiting even for a second , he stormed to Nupur's room . He was about to knock but it opened and was welcomed by his smiling mother . Agastya hugged her ..
''I missed you Mom '' he said slowly ..
Nupur stroked his hairs ..'' Love you '' he kissed her cheeks
''waise how is Shreya doing ? '' Nupur asked playfully while Agastya felt heat rising up his cheeks
''Omg ! My son blushing ?'' Nupur laughed
''Mom .. I am gonna get late !'' he said and turned to leave
''shreya must be waiting for you !'' Nupur said aloud for him to listen
'' She is a friend '' he replied equally loud and ran to his room
Nupur smiled at her son ...and realised how small moments give immense pleasure

After Agastya went to school , Mayank took some courage and went to Nupur's room where she was picking up her files
''Can disturb you ?'' Mayank asked hesitantly , Nupur looked at him and nodded
''About yesterday , i am sorry ..I really am ''
Nupur didnt say anything , wel..she didnt know what exactly to say
''Nupur..hmm.. can we be friends '' Nupur raised an eyebrow to him '' just friends ..nothing more than that,,not for me , but for Agastya ''
Nupur smiled , she cant be so stubborn ..its 15 years now
''Sure ''
They shook hands ..marking new friendship

Epilogue

''Daddu ...yeh kya hai ?'' Agastya said annoyed
Rishabh laughed ..''tumhare Mom-Dad ki choice hai ''
Agastya made a face and looked at the sherwani he was wearing . ''Shreya is gonna run away !'' he stated , followed by laughing of his mom
''there is nothing to laugh about it ...I look stupid '' he looked at his mother..who looked old but had the same gorgeous smile
''U are looking extremely handsome .. trust me !''
''exactly ..'' Agastya turned to find Samrat standing there with Mayank
''Dad .. please !''
Mayank turned to Nupur who was adjusting his duppata .
''your son doesnt know sense of dressing !'' Mayank remarked followed by a scowl on Nupur's face
'' Agastya you are looking very good .. Its just you never wore something like this before ..so you are not at ease '' rishabh said seriously
''Exactly Dad ..'' Nupur said and Agastya somehow felt convinced
''Now , i think we should move ..Shreya wouldnt like waiting ..right Agastya ? '' Samrat smirked while Agastya blushed ''gossh ! Your son blushes Nupur '' Mayank commented again
'' If you forgot Mr.Sharma , he is your son too and there is nothing wrong in blushing '' Nupur patted Agastya's back
''I wonder Mom-Dad , how you manage to fight so much '' and before any of them could comment , agastya went out smiling

Engagement went awesomely well . Agastya and Shreya were surrounded by there friends ..sneaking moments whispering to each other

Nupur stood and smiled at his son .. suddenly , she felt a warm touch on his face ..she turned and found Mayank standing next to her

''U crying even on being from groom's side '' Mayank said playfully while Nupur wiped off his tears
''i cant help right !'' Nupur said an both smiled
''U know..agastya has striking features of yours and i am proud of that '' Mayank said looking at his son and smiled .
while they both were talking , they didnt notice that their only link was glad to have them in there life

''u have amazing parents agastya !'' shreya said linking her arms with him
''i am glad that you accepted my parent's past'' Agastya kissed their linked hands
''It takes courage to tell the truth and i was over-whelmed that Nupur aunty forced you to tell me '' Agastya looked at her intently
''You have no problem with Dad na ? ''
''if aunty can live with uncle and forgive him , then how can I complain ..and infact uncle is awesom Dad to you and to me . U have a great family Agastya and be proud of that , as I am . ''
Agastya hugged her

Nupur never accepted Mayank more than a friend and Mayank never wished for more than being someone to help her during hurdles and smile during her success ..Finally both wanting their son to be graced by smile every moment of his life

Here is the update ..i am really sorry about being so late .
About the update .. wel , this is what i can all manage . I dont know how you'll react to Nupur's decision but i thought this to be correct .
Nupur couldnt forget what Mayank did ..wel , no one can forget it.. I dont think , such things can erase easily . I dont think so
I am sorry , if i dissapponted you ..if you all wanted the otherway but i didnt feel right about that .

But it was perfect..and I luved the ending..somethings can never be forgotten but I'm glad Nupur forgave Mayank and they became gud frnds😛
