I was enjoying the best drive of my life, even to this date'(of course, they were followed by many drives with Nupur, but the first is always precious right)'when Nupur said "Shall we have chat here? This place is too good for chat"'.I personally was never a great fan of chat but having it with your loved one and hopefully your future wife is a different experience'I parked my bike on its side stand and locked it'I brought two plates of chat and offered one to Nupur..How I wish I had brought only one plate'The problem with taking liberty is you never know how much is too much'So I decided to play safe'.



"Why is life so complex?" said Nupur as she starting pampering her taste buds with the samosas'.Now definitely there can't be a simple answer to this complex and abstract question'I thought hard and said " What exactly are you talking about, Nupur?"'To which she replied in the same philosophical tone "Life as such'You have to work hard and go back home only to see your father worrying about getting you married'How much does he have to struggle for me? " Now is this a piece of information or a hint ? God knows what was in Nupur's mind, but I really wanted to put an end to my father-in-law..err'my prospective father-in-law's struggle'"It is unfair that two men are struggling for the same girl's marriage" I thought'"Yes'Parents really struggle hard for their children" was all I could say, though my reply sounded like "The Sun rises in the East"'



Nupur's eyes were speaking a lot about her father's worry'He was worried about her marriage and she was worried about him'I was only worried about our love, which, with Nupur's approval, would solve the rest of the worries and help us start a new life of worries..err'happiness'We finished having our snacks and resumed our journey to Begumpet'Nidhi must have struggled hard to commute to our office daily from that God-forsaken place'Though it was in the heart of the city, it was very far from office'To workaholics like Nupur and me, office matters more than the rest of the world'I was lost in my own thoughts "Will Nupur show me the same love which she is currently showing towards her dad"'I know love should not be compared, but at that point, I couldn't help comparing'"Yes, of course, she will" I said to myself as God did not appear interested to answer my question'



"Anand Vihar" read the letters inscribed on the wall'That was Nupur's home'A small building in light green with a small front yard'"Come on in...Have some coffee" she said as she got down from my bike'This was totally unexpected'I was not mentally and physically (appearance wise ) prepared for the chance encounter with my father-in-law..I dropped the word "prospective" as it increases the emotional distance between him and me'" May be some other day" I said, but Nupur insisted'I parked my bike outside the house and started to enter the house, when I noticed a Labrador staring at me, with the usual bored look that dogs have'.I am sure dogs are more expressive than human beings'Whether it is love or being bored, they express with ease, while we struggle to do so'.May be they don't have as much ego as we have'



I must tell you that, all my life, I had been very courteous to dogs'I always believed in giving them their space'So I never approached one'and never let any member from that species approach me'To put it simply, I was afraid of dogs'"Tiger'Calm down" said Nupur as the dog made slightly ferocious sound as I entered the house'I don't know whether the dog felt like a tiger or not, but I surely felt like a cat..It required great acting skills to suppress my feelings so that my loved one doesn't think I am too timid'She would probably expect her man to be brave, and I didn't want to disappoint her'..
