Chapter 5
Letting Go
A Week had passed and Nupur was still searching for a job, One question shattered her chances "your qualifications?"
She had tried for a teacher, but the pay was so less, and she herself was never a that great student! Suhani suggested her to shift towards the fashion designing field, she tried but got rejected, reason same- Qualifications.
You are a Graduate..with no further qualifications in fashion designing..you tell me why will I take you miss bhushan?
Nevertheless she kept trying.
Relief and Hope came to her when Dia came with her friends one evening squeeling and gushing with great news.
FLASHBACK
"Guys!!!" Dia squeeled as she entered the hall.
The trio stood up surprised.
"Great News!!" Dia hugged all of them, she turned and soon 2 guys and a girl entered grinning ear to ear.
"Meet my friends" Dia introduced them to Gun and Nupzi.
"m Benji" A jovial good-looking guy with cute dimples smiled at them.
"and am Uday" A muscular tanned guy smirked in their direction, his eyes tinkled with mischief.
"and am Annie" A short bubbly girl smiled at them.
"samrat kahan hai?" suhani questioned surprised.
"He's out of town" Dia spoke with clenched teeth.
"Forget about him, these three helped me get gun an admission!!" dia squeeled.
A smile made it to the trio's face as dia gushed while her friends smiled.
"That's gr8 news dia thanks!" gunjan hugged her again.
"Gun you wont believe it, I cant believe it!! It was benji's plan and it worked!" dia exclaimed gushing in excitement.
"hey my plans always work oke?" benji spoke faking to be offended.
"Ya benji always!" dia spoke sarcastically.
"But wat did u guys do? I mean the principal of ur skool didn't give u the permission then?" nupur asked curious.
"Yes nupzi the princi of excel school and so we went to the princi of excel college! And well the details u neednt know it was a lot emotional and teary one" Dia smiled.
"thts fab!" suhani stood up smiling ear to ear "Nupzi don't worry now u will get a job as well!"
"yeah lets hope" nupur murmured.
"Chill u will…and gunjan nice to meet you" Benji offered his hand to greet her, she smiled and shook it, though he didn't let her hand go and winked at her.
"Benji" Dia smacked him with her purse from the back.
"Gun never mind him, he flirts with every girl" she rolled her eyes.
The three friends bid them bye and headed out.
"Now that u have met my friends, did u like them gun?" dia asked.
"They are really nice" Gunjan replied.
"I know! Wait till u meet sammy he's the best!" dia smirked.
Gunjan simply nodded.
"About him..where is he?" suhani asked again,
"He's out of town I told u na" dia answered.
"Yeah but where?" suhani asked again.
"Why are you so interested?" nupur asked, she didn't know this guy, su never mentioned him, but seeing that 'samrat's' absence had su curious, nupur was eager to know about him.
"He's like my younger bro nupzi…dia's bestie"
Dia laughed heartily. "Don't say that infront of sammy, he will be hurt"
Suhani chuckled along.
She met nupur's questioning gaze "ohh he's a flirt like Benji" she replied.
"Hmm gun stay away from the two" nupur directed her words at gun.
"Hey they are not bad, just for fun"
"whatever, gun stay away from them" Nupur spoke again in a clipped tone, she couldn't hold her laugh anymore seeing dia and suhani's reaction.
"I was just kidding" The duo sighed relief spreading through them.
"I thought for a moment u misunderstood them" dia spoke
"How can i? they are your friends" Nupur replied.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Hey nupzi" Suhani entered the hall and smiled at her.
"Hi" nupur smiled coming out of her train of thoughts."How was ur day?"
"very tiring" su sighed as she spread her legs on the couch.
"I have great news for you" she smiled.
"What is it?" nupur asked quite disheartened, suhani must have got another job offer for her in some company.
"I have got another opportunity for you" suhani continued "in my office"
"ur office?" nupur asked perked up.
"yes" suhani grinned "I had been requesting sadu to keep one more assistant as its too much of workload for me, and finally he agreed"
"Wait, this is fab!" nupur exclaimed on for the challenge infront of her "If we both work together in the same office!"
"Yeah I know" suhani smiled holding nupur's hand.
"But" nupur's delight died as her brain shrieked the words to her 'mayank sharma the perfectionist'
"I wont get the job" nupur sighed and played with her nails.
"Why?" suhani asked curious.
"Oh comeon Mayank Sharma! The perfectionist, focused and heartless Head of the department, will hire a simple girl from morena who has graduated from some small university instead of all the highly educated girls of Mumbai"
Suhani shook her head "u silly nupzi" she murmured and sat next to her.
"How can you think this way?" she asked.
"Mayank is a sadu akdu, perfectionist" suhani went on searching for more words, a smile made it to nupzi's face as she helped her "- ruthless, focused, angry young man"
Suhani chuckled and spoke"Yet he sees talent in people before they do themselves"
"and I don't think I have it in me" nupur smiled trying to hide her tears though suhani caught her emotions.
"You are wrong nupz, You are extremely talented" suhani cupped her face "u r my friend" she merely whispered the words but they held pride, strength and belief.
"You trust me so much?" nupur questioned.
"Ofcourse! And you will get this job, you know why?" suhani asked softly.
Nupur didn't reply yet questioned her with her eyes.
"Because you know him too well" suhani answered. "and I am with you..always"
Nupur hugged suhani feeling relieved, thanking the day she met su, blessed she felt.
"when is the interview?" nupur asked breaking away from the hug.
"Tomorrow" Suhani smiled.
"Tomorrow?" nupur exclaimed making suhani jump.
"yeah why?"
"tomorrow is gun's first day in college"
"well even for dia, they will be together, there's no need to worry"
"no the thing is..i should be with her..i"
"No nupz…actually" suhani sighed.
"wat happened?" nupur asked.
"nupz let her free" suhani spoke cautiously knowing if she spoke the wrong words, it would cost their friendship.
"wat?"
"gunjan let her free"
"wat do u mean?" nupur asked again.
"Nupz I feel, please don't get me wrong, but have u seen gunjan? She has let herself lost in you"
"suhani please speak clearly" nupur requested as she sat up straight.
"well you are taking every decision for her, and not you but she..Its like" suhani shut her eyes and opened them again speaking out the conversations
"gun lets go shopping 'di can i?' gun lets go buy you books 'di will u come? Gun there's a party tonight 'I want to stay with di' Gun"
"well wats the prob in that? Its always been like that" nupur snapped.
"Nupz" Suhani sighed "It's wrong"
"I don't see anything wrong in it" Nupur spoke again a bit harsh.
"Okay just hear me out please" suhani requested.
Nupur nodded at her.
"Nupur, don't let Gunjan depend on u so much, Do you notice, she is sad, broken, but she finds refuge under u, with u….She has her own life nupz, she has to take her own decisions, she has to fight for herself, not u, with you yes, but she has to live she has to"
"I get what u mean" nupur sighed. "okay so will do as u say…but m still sad that I wont be with her on her first day"
"Trust dia and her friends, gun will be fine" suhani smiled.
"Okay so interview tomorrow..gosh m nervous" nupur spoke as she blew out breath.
"I am here to help" suhani smiled and stood up to take a few books fom the corner table.
Unknown to the two friends Gunjan stood at the corridor silent tears flowing down her eyes as suhani's words echoed in her ears "gunjan let her free"
Next Day
Gunjan's POV
I entered the room dressed for college in my peach churidar suit.
I shook my head as I noticed clothes scattered on the bed, a tensed di met my eyes, she turned and continued shuffling through the cupboard
"Di?" I called.
"Yeah Gun?" she asked without looking up.
"you need help?"
"no" she replied.
"I guess you do"
She huffed and straightened "actually I do..wat should I wear?"
"well anything not too shiny, simple and sweet" I suggested
"I know tht gun" she murmured "but the boss, he's very focused in nature, also a perfectionist..ermm Blue suit would do I think" she withdrew a plain blue churidar suit with golden borders, "simple and sweet as u say" she murmured again.
"It will be perfect All the Best di" I smiled.
She threw the dress on the bed and approached me with a smile "same to u..and listen dont get nervous alrite…so wat if I wont be there, u will do good, don't get in any trouble you know…though I barely think u will, but don't be too quite…be with dia"
"Di" i interrupted her."I will be fine"
"yeah u will m sure" she spoke again.
"Dia is waiting outside, I better leave now" I spoke waiting for di's reaction.
"yeah"
"This is the first time I wil be on my own" I smiled "u don't worry"
Di held my gaze and slowly a smile graced her lips.
She gave me a tight hug and smiled.
POV Ends
After a While
"Nupzi luking perfect!" suhani gushed.
"Nothing over done na?" nupur fumbled.
"Well" Suhani checked nupur from upto down.
She wore a simple blue churidar suit with golden borders, her hair tied in a ponytail, she wore small golden earrings with a thin golden chain in her neck.Her makeup done perfectly simple and light with high golden heels
"ermm let your hair down" su suggested.
"ermm okay" nupur murmured as she combed her hair staring at the mirror.
Su picked a small clip and clipped two strand of hair at the back.
"Great" nupur heaved a sigh."Lets go"
The two headed out locking the main door.
In EXCEL
Dia and Gunjan entered to find the college crammed with many students a few playing in the grass while others standing by the walls chatting animatedly.
Few of them greeted Dia on the way.
"I was very famous in skool, thts all" dia whispered to gunjan who simply nodded with a smile.
Gunjan's eyes met another sight a guy sitting on his jeep's bonet with a cowboy hat next to him.His other friends sat on the jeep's seat, some with their legs hanging out, a chill went down her back as the guy seated at the bonnet smirked meeting her gaze.
She looked away wierded out.
"that's RV and his gang" Dia whispered to Gunjan. "don't even stand close to them" she warned.
Together the two entered the main door.
"Gun don't tell anyone" dia whispered "but m nervous" she squeeked.
Gunjan smiled "relax dia"
"trying to…just hope to find the gang soon, then noone will play pranks on us for sure"
Gunjan's stomach dropped at the thought "yeah lets find them soon" she murmured.😆
Together the girls passed through the corridor, the hall was crowded, Gunjan stared ahead and spotted the library.
"Dia library" gunjan spoke.
"yeah" dia spoke uninterested.
"I want to explore a little, I need to issue a book actually, just hope to find it there" Gunjan spoke fumbling with her books.
"Gun actually u go I will wait for u outside" dia spoke.
"ermm why?" gunjan asked.
"u knw. Eh first day library…I have a reputation" dia smiled a little uneasy.
"Oh" gunjan spoke "I wont take long 5 minutes"
"Okay" Dia smiled as she stared at gunjan entering the libraray.
She texted Benji
Hey, richd coll…whrz u?
Soon she got his reply cool coll canteen..join us
Act near the lib..u cum she texted back.
Lib??? lol He replied. Dia shook her head.
Gun is in d lib not me she replied.
K lol cumin
Dia sighed as she stared around around waiting for her friends.
Soon Benji, Uday, Annie joined them.
Hey guys they hugged and slapped hands together.
"Where's sam?" dia asked surprised.
"Havent heard from him..dunno wen he will be coming back from delhi" Uday spoke shaking his head.
"This is" Dia shrieked but then let her tone down staring around "so bad!" she ended huffing in annoyance.
"wats so bad?" she turned around to find samrat walking coolly towards her.
"Here you are!" dia started. "sammy not done, after the party I wanted to talk abt something really important and u…u left us all alone!" she pouted.
"sorry candy, but I had to go to Delhi…you know"
"we know..what happened der?" uday asked tentatively.
"wat else?" samrat asked turning to face the hall "m a grown up man, I take my own decisions, not my mom"
Benji, Uday and Dia gazed at each other,
Benji gave a curt nod and stepped towards samrat "dude, forget it man"
"yeah" samrat sighed "nyways candy you were saying something?" samrat asked forgetting all about his personal problems.
"yeah but" gunjan joined them "sammy meet my friend Gunjan" dia smiled.
Gunjan was quite taken aback as dia suddenly introduced her to samrat.
He smiled at her and offered his hand for a shake in a swift moment "Hi"
"Hi" Gunjan greeted back as she shook his hand, she was quite lost in his deep light brown eyes.
He let go of her hand "u were not there in excel school were u?" he asked curious.
Gunjan blinked twice and shook her head.
"I met her few days back" dia replied, without a word of discussion the gang moved heading towards the canteen, their always been fav place in skool and now in college it will be.
"thts gr8, so how do u knw her?" samrat asked as he and dia walked ahead of the gang, while Benji, Uday, Gunjan and Annie followed behind staring around awed at the beauty of the place.
"well, it's a long story…sum other day" dia sighed.
"Okay" samrat nodded and took a glimpse at gunjan.
She was a pretty girl, fair and slim, though something was unusual about her, was it her Indian-ness or her simplicity he didn't know.
He stared ahead as they reached the canteen.
Cut to Nupur and Suhani
They entered the elevator together, "Nupzi don't be tense okay, he wont like that" suhani murmured.
"I know" Nupur groaned literally shaking in nervousness.
The elevator's door was about to close when someone stuck his foot in between preventing it from closing, the door opened to reveal a man around 24 with dark brown eyes, his face fixed in concentration, dressed in a grey suit with white shirt a silver and black striped tie complimentin him.
Unknown to this our Nupur bhushan was busy in her own world with her eyes closed she held her hand together " Relax nupur! Deep breathe in… deep breathe out..in ..Out" He gave her an amused look and stood next to his assistant.
"Good Morning sir" Suhani murmured nervous.
"Good Morning" mayank greeted her as the elevator's door clanged shut.Yes the man is Mayank Sharma.
Suhani slowly nudged nupur who opened her eyes and stared at her. Suhani kept her finger on her lips pointing nupur to be quiet.
"wat?" nupur asked.
Mayank turned to her and looked away again.
Suhani thought it better to let all be trusted on fate.
The elevators door clanged open as mayank stepped out followed by su and nupur.
Suhani pulled nupur aside "God nupzi sadu was in the elevator"
"wat?" nupur squeeked.
"yeah!"
"Ohh god wat was I saying, wat was I doing?" nupur paced infront of su who blinked twice and stopped nupz
"Ur breathing exercises" Suhani muttered.
"wat?"
"Yeah, hang on I get it..if he asks you about ur hobbies add yoga then he will knw wat u were doing in elevator and he wont find it weird yeah..thats right, it fits"
"ha! Yeah right I don't know A-B-C of yoga"
"Ohh okay ayways nothing's spoiled as of yet, just be calm and relaxed"
"yeah am trying" Nupur spoke meekly.
Together the two entered the main office.

RV- new entry,
Samrat well basically his personal prob isnt imp..just to show tht the above was his first meet with gun.
So gunji was dazzled for a while, but samrat just checked her out like any other cool coll dude..there's nothing cooking b/w them as of yet.

Okayfor SAJAN an MAYUR u guys must rem i said tht its not gonna be a love at first sight thing....but its not necessary for first meet to be fab always how abt second meet??😉
