~~~~~~~~~~~~PART 2: What's in a book…?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Its late at night and Nupur has picked up 'Qayenaat'. It looks like a 'thought book' to her. Someone is portraying his thoughts via words in this notebook…sometimes in a poetic way, sometimes in a philosophical manner. But its a definite 'He' because most of the thoughts are revolved around a girl…may be his girlfriend, his lover…who knows!!! Nupur continues reading…

raah me kabhi mil jaaye aap to hairaat hogi
ek umer humse intezar karwane ki shikayet hogi
jo nazrein uthaake phir se jhuka diye
to pehli hi nazar me aap se mohabbat hogi

Nupur talks to herself holding the book tightly in her arms…

wah…kya likkha hai. dil chooN gaya. janab aap hai kaun? agar itne hi khubsoorat hai aap ke khayal to na jaane aap khud kaise honge!! kaaash…aap sa koi hamari zindagi me bhi aajaaye to kya baat hai!

While Nupur is busy wishing on her desires, her grandma enters the room.

D: arree…kisse baat kar rahi hai?
N: (quickly hides the notebook and sorts herself) koi bhi to nahi daadi ma. hum to bas yun hi…
D: arre poora din to sab ke saath bakbak karti rehti hai. ab kya khud ko bhi pareshaan karne lagi hai kya? (she giggles)
N: daadi ma…aap bhi na!! (she holds daadi tightly and kisses her on her cheeks) waise daadi ma…aap log hamare shaadi k baare me kuch soch rahe hai k nahi?
D: (slaps on Nupur's wrist) kitni besharam larki hai!! apni shaadi ki baat khud hi kar rahi hai..woh bhi apne bade buzurg se!!!! kya zamana aagaya hai bhai
N: aahhaa daadi maa…meri pyaari daadi maa. apni shaadi ki baat apne hi daadi se na kare to padosi se kare kya? aakhir hum jawaan hogaye hai…aur haseen bhi…bilkul aap ki tarha (she smiles as he grabs her daadi's chin)
G: chhi chhi chhi…iss larki ko kaun samjhaye! apni hi tareef khud hi kiye jaa rahi hai. kaun zaheen larka isse shaadi karega…she mumbles to herself as she walks out of the room

Nupur laughs out loud and says to herself…
humse jo shaadi karega woh zaheen ho na ho per alag hoga…har sirhe se! jo narzrein jhukayenge hum to pehli hi nazar me unko humse mohabbat hogi (she recalls the few lines that she read earlier) and falls asleep dreaming of that unknown author…dreams of a possibility that was about to come true soon.

Mayank, on the other side, is actually having a frantic day. His entire room is a mess…he is desperately looking for his notebook..his Qayenaat! Where did he keep it?? He remembers it carrying it to the campus today but now he cannot seem to find it at all! He has searched every nook and corner of his room but its nowhere to be found!!! He is feeling so distressed…all his feelings that he would not share with anyone in this world is now probably lying somewhere, covered in dust or probably in a trash can or perhaps being read by the eyes of a stranger who may or may not understand the hidden feelings behind those words. ***Sighs** Mayank says to himself..

na jaane kahan hai meri qayenaat…kiske haathon me…kisski nazron se guzar raha hai mere jazbaat.

Next day, in the university cafe, Nupur is sitting with her friends (Suhaani, CJ and Diya) and chatting away..

N: kal pata hai kya hua? humain taxi me ek notebook mila…khola to dekha kisi shaayer ka shaayeri hai. wah kya likhta hai banda…muah!! maza aagaya!!
S: Nupur..iss tarha kisi ka personal diary parna thik nahi hai. buri baat hai yaar
N: arre humnain jaan bujhke thori na parhe!! woh to humnain socha k ander koi naam ya pata likha hoga to hum uss shaks ko usska diary wapas kar denge per kahin per kisi ka naam ya koi contact number nahi mila. pehla panna khola to jo dekha usse dil khush hogaya. bas phir ek ajeeb sa nasha chhaa gaya ho jaise. khud per qaabu hi nahi raha. hum bas panna palat te gaye aur ek andekha, anjaana sa shaks apne saare jazbaat leke hamare dil pe utarta gaya (Nupur gets lost in her thoughts) when CJ snaps her fingers..
C: o madam…kahan kho gayi??
D: mujhe to lagta hai Nupur ko ishq hogaya hai
C: arre Nupur ko chalte phirte har ajnabee se ishq hojaata hai. issme nayi kaunsi baat hai?
N: CJ…hum bilkul aise nahi hai. itne saalon se jaanti hai tu mujhe, kabhi kisi larke ki taraf aankh uthakar bhi dekha humnain kabhi? warna hamare deewanon ki kami kahan!! (so proud of herself)
S: mailka-e-alam…zara khwabon ki sultanat se bahar nikle…class ka waqt horaha hai

..they get up and start walking out of the cafe. As they do…Mayank passes Nupur by ( her dupatta slightly touching him) but he does not notice as he is busy following his steps yesterday…looking for his notebook. As he is busy in his thoughts trying to recall each and every moment of yesterday, Uday appears with a packet of crisps in his hands..

U: kya dhoond rahe ho?
Mayank snaps out of his thoughts and with utter annoyance on his face says…
M: mera sikka gir gaya hai…wohi dhoond raha hoon. tumhe koi taqleef?
U: arre nahi yaar…mere itne bhi bure din nahi aaye jo mamooli ek sikke per taqleef uthaaoon woh bhi jo sikka mera na ho
M: (gives him the LOOK)
U: arre bhai itna ghussa kyun ho rahe ho. itne bari cafeteria me insaan kho jaata hai to tumhe sikka kahan se milega?

Mayank realises that its very difficult to find his notebook in this crowdy place. If he would have dropped it here , someone must have picked it up. It shouldn't still be lying around here. With a deep sigh, he gives up on looking for his notebook and walks towards the classroom.
