The exam agitation could be very well seen in Excel College and also at Mishra House as everyone was busy revising the syllabus in hope to score 100% marks.

Though living in the same house, they both were not able to meet properly as Milind was busy in his new project and Prachi was sinking in her books. It was only after dinner that they both could spend a little time together in the backyard because Milind didn't wanted to disturb her in her studies.

It was Sunday evening and Prachi was studying in her room when she heard a soft knock and saw that it was Rohit standing.

Prachi," Aarey Rohit, come in and tell me how are your preparations going?"

Rohit," Sorry to disturb you but I stuck up at this annoying problem. Can you please help me?"

Prachi," Ya sure, why not! Come sit." and she began to explain him.

Milind, who just returned from his Gym, saw Prachi's door ajar and peeped inside to find Rohit and Prachi studying. Quickly changing up, he went to her room.

Milind," Hey what's up?" he asked when Rohit and Prachi exchanged glances.

Rohit," Don't disturb." he said whereas Milind winked at Prachi who glared back at him.

Taking a seat opposite to her, he sat down.

Milind," So what are you studying?" he asked opening one of his books.

Prachi," He has some problem in Finance section and will you please keep quite." she replied somberly and he just nodded.

Few moments later she felt something on her feet, looking down she saw it was Milind's toe which was rambling all over her feet. She glanced up at him to see him sitting with his hands locked behind his head and smiling wickedly. Prachi silently indicated him to move away his toe but he was stubborn. Seeing no option she pinched him hardly on his thigh and Milind loudly yelped in pain shrieking out Rohit.

Rohit," Just get out you Moron. Can't you see I'm studying, just get lost from here." he shouted banging his fist on the table whilst Prachi covered her mouth not to laugh at Milind's expression.

Milind," But…. But I didn't do anything, it was Prachi who pinched me." he said rubbing the spot.

Rohit," You're so shameless Bhai, you're putting the blame on her when she didn't do anything. I don't want to listen anything you just get lost."

Milind," You'll both have to pay for this." he said glaring at Prachi who was continuously grinning.

Rohit," Yup in the next birth." he said concentrating on his books.

Milind," We will see." he was about to go out when he saw Prachi waving at him and stomping his foot angrily he marched out.

The next two days Prachi didn't had any exams, so she thought to clean up her room. At that time neither Milind nor Rohit was at home, it was only Mahen who was in his room. She was coming to her room when she noticed that the store room was open.

"Prachi this is the right time….. Speak to him." she thought.

Mahen, who was in his room doing some paper work, froze when he heard the sound which he hated so much. Keeping his pen down, he got up angrily.

Mahen," Milind, Milind where are you?" he angrily called out while walking towards the store room when he saw Prachi holding Milind's small little piano.

Mahen," Oh! Prachi you are here? I thought….."

Prachi," You thought that Milind is here, don't you?"

Mahen," No child, it's just that……."

Prachi," Won't you scold or slap me Uncle….. Am I not like your daughter?"

Mahen," No Prachi don't think like that." he said turning his back to her.

Prachi," Then why only Milind uncle. He loves you so much that he is ready to sacrifice anything for you; then don't you think that as a father you should also give him his happiness. I'm not saying that you have deprived Milind of any happiness but Uncle he really loves to play this but is not doing so because he wants to see you happy. As a son, he did what he thought was right but now as a father it's up to you that how you make your son happy."

Mahen," I agree with you Prachi but it's not what you think. That time when Niharika and Rohit's parent died I was completely desolated. I was not able to cope up that how I'm going to fill their emptiness. Milind was 8 at that time but Rohit just a year old and you know that accident happened only because of Niharika's stubbornness. She wanted to go to Chennai because there was some seminar of piano lessons were held and she even took Rohit's parent with her; you know why…… Because she was five months pregnant at that time…. she was pregnant with my second child." he said with all teary eyes.

Prachi," What!!!!!!" she was stunned.

Mahen took that piano from her hand.

Mahen," Yes Prachi but Milind or Rohit doesn't know this and I request you to please keep this to yourself. Apart from me, Inder and Premlata only know this but now it's you too. That accident broke my world apart, it was just by luck that Rohit was not with them otherwise he too would have………" and he broke down.

Prachi rushed to his side to hold him…..

Prachi," Uncle are you ok? I'm sorry Uncle….. I'm really sorry."

Mahen," No Prachi…… I'm ok……. After all this when I came to know that Milind too wanted to learn piano, I just couldn't control myself and once I had slapped him really hard when there was no fault of his. I know Prachi that I should have not done this but the sound of this instrument reminds me of my wife and my unborn dead child every time…….." he couldn't continue as he heard some footsteps and it was of Milind.

Milind," Dad what are you doing here? Who told you to open this room and what is all these stuff?" he said looking at the piano.

Prachi," Milind…… "

Milind," Keep quite Prachi, no words I say….. Go away from here."

Prachi," But Milind please listen to me……" she tried to speak.

Milind," I said go away from here Prachi can't you listen at once. Out now." he shouted angrily pointing towards the door.

Milind," Are you ok Dad?" he asked him bringing back to his room.

Mahen," I'm sorry son."

Milind," Why are you saying like this? You didn't do anything wrong, then why to apologize."

Mahen," No Milind, now I have realized that as a son when you can sacrifice your happiness for me then why not me. Son from now on you can play this, I won't say anything to you." he said handling him the piano.

Milind," Dad are you……… are you serious?" he was amazed.

Mahen," Yes son, till now it reminded me of your mother but from now on, I'll feel proud that my son is a very talented pianist."

Milind," I love you Dad, thank you sooo much." he said hugging him.

Mahen," Don't thank me, thank Prachi. That girl made me understand that sometimes even parents too can make mistakes." saying he went outside leaving Milind in thoughts.

The chilly wind was making her shiver but she was obstinate and kept standing there until she felt that he was there. Not saying a word, he quietly hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. She could feel the temperature of her body rising but she remained silent.

Milind," Prachi."

Prachi," Hmmm"

Milind," I'm sorry……. I shouldn't have shouted at you." he said turning her to him.

Prachi," It's ok, I'm not angry….. Btw its human nature, men listen less but shouts more." she said smiling and rolling her eyes.

Milind," Ahha! You know very much about human nature…. so what does your instincts says now?" he asked cocking his brows.

Prachi," That you are very happy now, and I'm very pleased about that."

Milind," Thanks for making Dad understand I'm really grateful to you." he said kissing her temples and she just smiled.

Milind," But you know when I came, I heard you and Dad talking about Mom and….."

Prachi," And about her love for piano which you have inherited from her…… So Mr. Mishra when are you giving me the honor to listen to some of your tunes." she said eyeing at him.

Milind," Very soon….. For now do you believe in making wish." he pointed towards a falling star.

Prachi," Milind, lets wish for our love life and a happy future ahead." saying she closed his eyes with her palm and he closed her eyes with his palm.
