"Eee... Sam-Sid kya kar rahe ho!" She said trying to get up when she faltered due to the pain that seered in her ankle. Yuvi moved forward and caught her in time before she hit the floor.

"Careful!" Yuvi said as he held her by her waist while the guys gave their molar to molar smiles with the girls standing at some distance.

"Naina are you okay?" Drish said as she came closer and looked at Naina's bandaged foot. Naina looked at her sister as Yuvi steadied her giving her a dark glare.

"Hum log raat bhar yahi the?" She asked confused.

"We think so. Abhi aaye toh tum logon ko itni comfortable postion me apne-apne dreamland me paaya or maybe single one, chances hain." Sam said while the two gave him a murderous look.

"Shit paanch minute me duty hai!" Yuvi said as he looked at his watch.

"Nahi hai. Abhi Dr. Keerti aayi thi tum logon ke jaagne se pehle." Farhan said.

"What? Aur tum logon ne hume sone diya! Idiots!" Naina said.

"It's okay Naina. She saw both of you sleeping and saw your foot. So she's said you two can go home right now. Yuvi you'll have to report in 3 hours aur Naina tumhe ma'am ne ek din off diya hai so that you can rest your foot." Gayatri told them. Naina tried to move towards her locker to put her coat that she had in her hand. Yuvi took it from her and went forward to keep it in her locker while keeping his things in his locker. "Lean on me." Yuvi ordered her placing Naina's arm over his shoulder and supporting her around the waist with other arm while all the others looked at this interacted with amused looks on their faces.

"Tum aayi kaise thi?" Yuvi asked as they moved to the parking lot with him supporting all her weight so that she didn't put any weight on her ankle.

"Sid ke saath aayi thi. Kaafi gusse me thi toh I didn't wish to drive." She said as he nodded and helped her towards his car. He opened the passenger seat and helped her get in. He went to the driver's seat after making sure she was secure in her seat.

There was complete silence as he drove while she occasionally spoke to give him the directions. He stopped his car in front a small house indicated by Naina.

"Nice house." Yuvi said as he helped her out and took her to the door. He rang the bell and waited looking around when a girl opened the door. Yuvi helped Naina inside.

"Ratna mumma-papa gaye?" Naina asked as Yuvi sat her down on the bed in her room.

"Ji didi. Vo keh rahe the ki aap call kar lijiyega jab aap aa jaye. Kaafi chinta kar rahe the aapki." Ratna, the maid in Mathur household told them. "Aap kuch lenge?" She asked Yuvi.

"First-aid box aur ice-pack." Yuvi said as the maid looked at him with a confused expression and went away. "So this is yours and Drishti's room?" Yuvi said looking around as he saw a huge picture of the two sisters hugging on the wall behind the bed.

"Yeah... humara room ek dum bhel puri hai. Thodi Naina..."

"Toh thodi Drishti!" Yuvi completed with a smile as Ratna came with the first-aid box. "Ek towel bhi chahiye." Yuvi said as Naina handed him a hand towel which was kept on the head rest. Yuvi sat down near her feet and kept her injured foot on his lap on the towel slowly opening the bandage to get a clearer look of her injury. Her ankle was swollen and had gone very red. He took some cotton and dettol and started cleaning it since the ointment had made it sticky. He felt her moving her foot uneasily. "Naina hilo mat!" Yuvi commanded rolling his eyes.

"Yuvi... ummm..."

"Kya hua?"

"Vo tum... mere pair ko..."

"Naina ab touch nahi karunga toh theek kaise karunga?! Now stop acting like kid and stop moving!" Yuvi went back to cleaning it when found a fresh graze there. As he touched it Naina flinched. He smiled as he put a band-aid on it and put the ice pack on the swollen area wrapping it with the towel. "Aaj poora din zyada uchal kood mat karna. Stay where you are. Kal duty bhi join karni hai."

"As you say, doctor uncle!" Naina said with a mischievous smile as Yuvi looked at her with wide eyes and his hands on his waist. "Yuvi tumhe ab ghar jaana chahiye, do ghante me tumhe report karna hai and you really need some rest." Naina looked at him registering his tired eye. For the first time she realized that he had very light-brown eyes which were naturally very seductive and mesmerizing. She looked away when she realized she had been staring at them for too long.

"Okay, I'll leave now." Yuvi realized the sudden uneasiness between them. "Bye."

"Bye." Naina smiled at him as he looked back at her from the doorway.

"Hey Drish!" Yuvi said entering the General Ward as he took the prescription pad of one of the patients standing adjacent to Drishti. "Hey Naina ko manane ka kya plan socha hai?" He whispered into her ear coming closer to her.

"Tumhe malum hai vo kyun naraz hai?" She whispered back.

"Unless there is something other than shocking her with the news that you guys want to her married off, I think I know it."

"Huh!"

"Naina ne bataya!"

"Naina se tumhari aaj kal bahut baatein ho rahi ha!" Drish scowled.

"Vo toh hai... you were right Drish, you're sis is really a kid. And kids are my speciality..." Yuvi said raising his collar but the look on Drish's face didn't say that she understood the humor behind it, she was lost in her own world. "Drish..." Yuvi shook her.

"Haan?"

"Medicine..." Yuvi sid indicating towards the injection that was still half inside the bottle and Drish went back to it with a halfhearted smile.

"Sid, mai AB ko call laga rahi hu!" Drish said giving up after five minutes that the three of them had spent racking their brains. Drish dialed the number while all the others, who had been looking at the three of them very closely, looked at each other.

"Hey Sis!"

"AB, don't hey sis me... agar aaj raat Naina ne mujhe neend me marne ke plans bana rahi hogi toh it's all cause of you!"

"Oye gabbar shaant!" Sid said trying to calm his friend hown.

"Sid yeh jwalamukhi kyun ubal raha hai?"

"AB paanch minute se yeh baat mujhe nahi pata chali' no idea aapko is janam me pata chal jaye." Sam said looking highly frustrated.

"Hey Sammy..."

"Aap logon kya zaroorat thi Naina ki shaadi use bina consult kiye plan karne ki? Is samay jis mode me vo hai na..." Yuvi said.

"Yeh kaun bola?"

"Bhaiya yeh Yuvraj hai... humara colleague." Gayatri said.

"Hello sis... how's uncle?"

"Papa theek hai Bhaiya."

"AB how do you know Gayatri?" Sid asked getting far away from the topic.

"She's Doctor..."

"Bro let's get back to the topic please!" Sam said looking at the scared look on Gayatri's face.

"Haan... ab bolo kaise manana hai. Mera to dimaag exhaust ho gayela hai!"

"Hmmm... let's think!" And the whole gang got into thinking.

"Khana lag gaya hai chalo!" They all heard Bhabhs voice in the background.

"AB phone speaker pe lagoa abhi!" Drish shouted. "Bhabhs help!!!"

"Eee... Drish paltan ko darana hai kya... ouch!"

"Chollie..."

"Hua kya?"

"Bhabhs Naina ko manana hai..."

"Naina mantra bhol gaye..." They heard her voice receding in the background.

"Sugar, spice and everything nice!" AB, Sam, Sid and Drish said together while the others looked as clueless as dodo birds.

"AB aapko result bateyenge and Bhabhs thanks... bye. Love to paltan!" Drish said hurriedly as she disconnected the call while Sid hurriedly got on his phone.

"Order ho gaya!" He said getting off the phone. "Yuvi tumhare night shift se pehle teen ghante ka beech me break hoga na?" Drish was not really thinking about the plan anymore when she heard Sid talking to Yuvi.

"Bas ek ghante ka!" Yuvi said dejectedly.

"Ek ghanta kaafi hai!" Sid said patting on his back as they all left for their duties. "Sidhe Naina ke ghar pahunch jaana." Yuvi smiled as he nodded at him.

The bell was ringing repeatedly when a frustrated Naina shouted out to her maid to get the door.

"Ratna kaun hai?" Naina asked closing the magazine she was reading and replacing it in the drawer.

"Mai hu!" Sid's face peeped inside the creaked open door.

"Hey superman... come in." Naina was trying to get up when he hurriedly came in to stop her.

"Supergirl bathi reh..." He said making her sit back when the teddy fallen on the floor caught her eye.

"What's that?"

"For you..." Sid picked up the small light-brown teddy and placing it on her lap. The light brown fur of the teddy reminded her of those beautiful eyes and it's softness reminded her of the softness of his touch.

"Thanks..." Naina said cuddling the teddy and hugging it tight hoping it was someone else when the bell again rang.

"Ratna..."

"Dekh rahi hu didi!"

"Hey Naina..." Sam stood at the doorway holding a bouquet of yellow flowers. "Kaisi hai humari ghayal sherni?"

"I'm fine..." She said surprised as Sam placed the bouquet on her lap and pushed Sid aside sitting near her on the bed when the bell rang again.

"Didi hum dekh raha hai." Ratna shouted before Naina could order her.

"Hello!" There stood Gayatri and Farhan in front of them holding a big envelope.

"Ab tum log kya laaye ho? Guys mere pair me bas moch aayi hai' toota nahi hai!" Naina rolled her eyes.

"Yeh hum nahi laaye... humare saath saath tumhare liye delivery aayi thi toh humne socha hum le aaye!" Farhan said as he gave it to her. She opened it and found a huge card in it saying sorry. She opened the card and read it - 'Sorry sister... phir kabhi tere se pooche bina khana tak order nahi karungi... please maaf kar de! Drish'. She smiled after reading it.

"Ab yeh planner kahan hai?" She said as she closed the card and found Drish standing in the doorway with a big cake in her hands.

"Tera favorite vanilla and lemon from your favorite shop Sugar and Spice!" Drish said placing it on the bed where the gang had made a small 'khopcha' (niche in proper tapori hindi) between them.

"Ja tujhe maaf kiya!" Naina said cutting the cake just when the doorbell rang... again. "Yuvi?" Naina looked at everyone stopping in the middle while they gave full smiles but Drish was looking at the door. Instead of Yuvi it was Ratna who came in.

"Didi yeh aapke liye aaya hai." Ratna handed Naina a small bag. In it was a small box. As she opened it Sid picked up a statue of a couple in a dancing posture and put it in the middle switching it on as a soft instrumental version of the song she recognised. It was the best musical box she had ever seen.

"Kisne bheja hai?" Drish asked peering in.

"Nahi malum?" Naina shrugged even though she knew the answer and saw a small letter in the packet too.

"Achcha hum log chalte hai." Gayatri said after a long time of chatting together and everyone agreed. Naina too went to sleep once everyone left.

"Hello?" Naina replied to the phone sleepily as the constant ringing of the phone woke her up.

"Hi!" She heard a sweet voice which made her get up suddenly.

"Yuvi?"

"Yeah... kisi aur ki call ka wait kar rahi thi?"

"Nahi toh..."

"Hmmm... how's your ankle now?"

"Theek hai. Tumne ye poochne ke liye call kiya tha?" Yuvi could sense some disappointment in her voice and smiled.

"Haan... Mai tumhara doctor hu!"

"Oh... okay..." She limped out of the bed and went to the window throwing it open feeling the chilled breeze on her face.

"Night duty par akele bore ho raha tha, paanch minute ke liye terrace pe aaya tha." Yuvi too breathed in the cool air.

"Oh... sorry yaar mera pair."

"It's okay... tomorrow you can make up for leaving me alone."

"Huh!"

"Kuch nahi... gift mila kya?"

"Gift?" Naina tried to sound confused but the giggle escaped her lips which she luckily hid from Yuvi by placing a hand on the phone.

"Hmmm..."

"Tum aaye kyun nahi?"

"Ek ghante ka break tha aur..."

"Aur..."

"Dr. Keerti was saying she'll give you one hour extra tomorrow on your night duty."

"Damn... gayi mai toh!"

"Kuch nahi hoga..."

"Hmmm... tum kya karoge? Mere saath ek ghanta extra duty karoge kal?"

"Nahi.... tumhari extra duty maine aaj kar li."

What!"

"That's why I couldn't come."

"Oh my god Yuvi! Tumne yeh kyun kiya?"

"Sprained foot like yours won't heal in a day."

"Still Yuvi..."

"Ab kuch mat bolna!"

"Thanks..."

"Bola na kuch mat bolna. Actually aaj ghar jaakar akele rehna ka bilkul mann nahi tha..."

"I so wanted you to come here with everyone. Jab bell baji thi I thought it was you."

"I'm sorry..."

"Lekin tumhara gift bahut achcha laga. Agar tum poora time hospital me the toh voh gift?"

"Sid ne help ki thi."

"Hmm..."

"Naina I need to run."

"Fine... bye... and tha..." But before she could complete he cut the call. As she went back to her bed she picked up the packet that she'd kept in her bedside drawer and took out the folded paper she'd seen in it. She opened it and read:

Dear Dil ki Doctor,

There are many people who hurt you and some who leave you broken. But only those matter who can sit by you and help you heal. It felt good talking to you like a friend...

Doctor Uncle

The next day when he came for his duty, he was late but was luckily excused. As he opened his locker a paper fell from it. He picked it up and opened it looking around to see if anyone was watching him. He opened it and read:

Good Morning Doctor Uncle,

There are so many things you did for me in the past 24 hrs that now thanks seems a word too small but unfortunately itni subah koi gift shop nahi khuli hoti toh I couldn't bring you anything else. There's something waiting for you in the changing room in the right pocket of the extra coat in rack no 4. All thanks to you I forgave her.

Dil ki Doctor

When he went there he found a small box of chocolates and a paper saying - 'My favorite, hope you'll like them too.'

Ever since this day they became friends secretly and the conversations took place either when they were alone or when they had people around through such chits.

Peeps i know i've made them come close very fast... i tried to think of an alternate scene but couldn't get anything and i just loved what i wrote, i found it the best... just being modest! 😛

Please tell me if it's not right... then i'll think of another way of putting it.
