~Jab Lurve Hua Part 13~

Bharti had her cup of coffee and went to the amphitheatre while she asked Sanjana and Alisha to get ready and when they asked about her, she told them that she'll meet her secret friend first before getting ready and they left. Bharti went to the amphitheatre and looked around.She saw someone standing there with his back facing her and she wondered if he's her secret friend. She didn't know but she still advanced towards him and tapped on his shoulder.

Bharti:Hi I'm Bharti..Are you my secret frie..

Armaan:Hi..I'm your secret friend..(smiled)

Bharti's smile faded and she turned to go but Armaan held her wrist.

Bharti:Haath chodo Armaan..

Armaan:I'm sorry bharti...I'm truly sorry!!!

Bharti:Kyun...Why are you sorry???Aur waise bhi ab sorry ho kar kya fayda??

Armaan:I'm really sorry for holding a grudge against you for no reason and I'm truly regretful for what I've done to you...In fact I didn't even expect you to accept my challenge...

Bharti:But i did..And what were you saying???My diva status??Do you want me to lash out at you just like how you did last night???In front of everyone???Seriously I would lurve to do it...

Armaan:I accept every punishment that you would want to give me...

Bharti went closer to Armaan and raised his chin. Armaan was stunned at Bharti's gesture.

Bharti:Lekin kya karu meri secret friend...Main tumhari tarha...Bilkul bhi nahin hoon(shouts at him)...Agar koi mere liye itna sab kuch karta hain toh usse maaf karna hi padega na???

Armaan:Matlab..matlab ki tum mujhe...(looks at her with welled-up eyes)

Bharti:Yes Mr Angry Young Man....I've forgiven you!!!

Armaan smiled and so did Bharti,after seeing Armaan smile so innocently.

Bharti:So friends???(extends her hand)

Armaan nodded his head several times and extended his head for a warm handshake.Bharti looked down to see his eyes as Armaan had lowered his head.

Bharti:Bas handshake???Gale nahin miloge??

Bharti hugged Armaan and whispered a Thanks to him and she realized that she's getting late for her presentation and Armaan wished all the best. Jiya was watching them from a distance and she couldn't help but smile and silently wished that they remain together always as a couple. She knew if she told Armaan about what she felt for a moment, he would probably kill her but she prayed that her dream never gets shattered, "God of love ki kasam, please let them be together always!!" and winked, looking at the sky.

Armaan:Hello kisse baatein kar rahi thi?

Jiya:Kuch nahin....Let's wait for Bharti at the cafe...

Armaan:Yeah, hope she wins today....

Jiya:Arre wah..jo insan kal talk usse badla lena chahtha tha aaj uske liye dua kar raha hain ki woh jeet jaye....Kya chamatkaar hai yaar...

Armaan:Bas..bohat ho gaya haan...

Jiya:Acha meri baap...Heyy Sudha aunty???

Armaan:Maa...

Sudha:Hi Armu, hi Jiya...where's Bharti??Aur tum dono yaha pe??

Armaan:Erm woh...

Jiya:Pehle aap betiye toh sahi...Main aapko sab bata thi hoon....

Jiya informed of what they had done for Bharti and Sudha was really surprised at this transformation of Armaan and just looked at him in awe and touched his hair.

Armaan:Maaa...stop it!!

Sudha and Jiya smiled at him, looking at him feel irritated.

The trio waited for the presentation to end for only the students, teachers and the guests were allowed to view the presentation.Hence they waited for Bharti and her project mates.Just then, Payal came and saw Armaan and Jiya and went to ask about Bharti and their plan. Seeing the smile on their faces made her feel totally surprised that Bharti has forgiven Armaan just like that, which made her a little envious for both herself and Bhaskar had to beg for her forgiveness for the Goa trip and now Bharti has just forgiven Armaan so easily, which made her a little irritated but she just smiled at them.Payal excused herself and waited outside the auditorium, where the presentation was held.Payal called up Bhaskar to come to the university as soon as his meeting was over.

After three hours, the guests came out first followed by the staff and finally the students who congratulated Bharti,Alisha and Sanjana for a terrific presentation and making their university proud. Payal hugged Bharti.

Bharti:Where's Bhaskar??

Payal:As usual,meetings and all..but he said he'll be coming soon...

Bharti:Ahem..theekh hai..excuse me a sec...

Payal:Haan ok...hhmm main isse kab pooch paaongi Armaan ke baarein mein??

Bharti, meanwhile went to take photos with Alisha and Sanjana and met their parents and were mingling with them. Sudha,Jiya and Armaan came upstairs to the auditorium and waited to meet Bharti. Bharti turned around and saw Sudha and went to her and hugged her.Sudha kissed her forehead and congratulated Bharti and Bharti introduced Alisha and Sanjana to Sudha and Bharti hesitated a bit to introduce Sudha and Armaan.

Alisha:Well Bharti...

Sudha:I'm her mom, meaning her mother-in-law and this is her husband, Armaan..

Bharti:(grinned sheepishly) Yeah..

Sanjana:What???Tumhari shaadi ho gayi yeh to bata hain hum dono ko par tumne introduce tak nahin ki....

Bharti:Sorry....Come on...baad mein sab kuch batadoongi....

Alisha:Fine yaar...but both of us wants a great party from you in compensation...

Armaan:Hehe yea sure that will be done!!!

Bharti & Armaan were looking at each other, as if Bharti didn't want to hear what Armaan had just said.

Jiya:Okie guys Sudha aunty shall we go for dinner???

Bhaskar just came and hit Bharti's head and called her Baldy.

Bharti:Bhaskar main tumhe chodoongi nahin....Idiot!!!

Bharti hit Bhaskar and almost kicked him and both of them hugged each other. Payal took a photograph of them pinching each other's cheeks and hitting each other's head. Payal then took a photograph of herself, Bhaskar and Bharti and decided to change their photograph in the photo frame and update it with a brand new one which she just took.

Jiya saw Bhaskar and got already irritated seeing him.Besides Armaan, Jiya also doesn't get along with Bhaskar and she went downstairs with Armaan but Sudha stopped them and asked them to wait as she wanted to bring Bharti out for dinner tonight.Jiya looked at Armaan who looked quite disappointed.

Jiya:Kya hua bacchu??

Armaan:Nothing!!

Jiya:Arre mujh par gussa kyun ho rahe ho???Maine kya kiya???

Armaan:I thought of taking her out for dinner alone but now...

Jiya:Hhhmm...so ab kabab mein bohat saari haddiyaan hain, hain na??(giggled)

Armaan:Including you!!!

Jiya:Arre idiot!!!

Armaan:Sshh...!!Maa aa rahi hain..chup raho!!

Sudha came with Bharti, Alisha and Sanjana.

Sudha:Guyzz let's go for a quick dinner..what say???

Jiya:Sure...Yeah!!!

Jiya got pinched from Armaan who glared at her and Jiya just realized what she had just done.But before she could amend things,Sudha and the girls started walking.Jiya bit his tongue and grinned sheepishly at Armaan and pulled him to go with them.

Sudha was driving while Armaan was sitting in front and was messaging Jiya who was talking to Bharti,Alisha and Sanjana at the back of Sudha's car.Just then Jiya received Armaan's message and wondered why the hell Armaan was messaging her.Jiya looked at the message and almost giggled for Armaan wanted to have dinner alone with Bharti and he was asking her to do something.Jiya asked Alisha and Sanjana if they were joining for dinner but Alisha and Sanjana hesitated and told Sudha that they could join them some other time for their parents are waiting for them. Sudha dropped them at their homes and now Jiya, Armaan, Bharti and Sudha remained in the car.Bharti realized that there was something amiss and something's happening between Armaan and Jiya but kept mum about it.

Sudha:Bharti where shall we go??

Bharti:Mom if you don't mind can we go home??I'm quite tired...

Sudha:Dinner??I didn't make anything today...

Bharti:It's ok Mom...We can have something at home instead..Dinner some other time..Is that ok??

Jiya:Yeah aunty...

Sudha:Alright then....

Bharti looked at Jiya and smiled at her. Bharti wondered what both of them are up to.

Bharti looked at Jiya and smiled at her. Bharti wondered what both of them are up to.

Bharti:Koi problem hai Jiya??

Jiya:Nahin toh...Kyun???

Bharti:Bas aise hi pooch rahi thi....Well...(whispers to Jiya) meri ek kaam karoge???

Jiya:Kya???

Bharti:I'll give you a number...Book a table for 3 at Pearl's at 10:00 pm for me,you and Armaan.

Jiya:Me too??

Bharti:Yes you too...Ok....??

Jiya:What about Sudha aunty???

Sudha:Kya ho raha hai peeche??

Bharti:Kuch nahin Mom...Bas aise hi baat kaat rahi thi...

Jiya:Yeah Aunty...

Jiya:Hey Bharti par kaise??Aunty??

Bharti:Don't worry...I've got a plan....Bas Armaan ko khabar kar dena..tumhari SMS se??

Jiya grinned sheepishly for Bharti caught them both and Jiya instantly messaged Armaan back.

Sudha dropped Jiya home and Jiya winked at Bharti and Bharti winked back and smiled at her.Armaan and Sudha went inside first followed by Bharti.Sudha was watching Bharti and Armaan as both of them were drinking a glass of water each.Sudha was doubtful of both of them but she smiled to herself and yawned real loudly and wished Good night to both of them.

Armaan:Yeah...so??

Bharti:So..ab kya??

Armaan:Woh main tumse pooch raha tha...

Bharti:Arre yaar..chill...Let's sneak out..What say??

Armaan:Sneak out???

Bharti:Ssshhh dheere se bolo...Tumhe koi experience nahin hain kya???

Armaan:Kis cheez mein??

Bharti:Sneaking out??Aur woh bhi raat mein...Main toh roz karti hoon...

Armaan:Kya??

Bharti:Arre yaar...chalo....Tiptoe..Theekh hai....

Armaan:What???

Bharti:Sshhh....chup!!(covers his mouth with her hand)

Armaan gazed into her eyes and just followed her as she tiptoed and asked him to follow suit. Bharti closed the door and both of them got out of the house and instead of opening the gates, Bharti climbed up the wall and jumped down and asked Armaan to do the same and after much pestering finally Armaan too jumped after climbing the wall which made him feel so weird.

Bharti:Kaisa laga??

Armaan:Bharti seriously pehli baar yeh sab kar raha hoon....Bohat..acha laga...

Bharti:Yeah...main toh roz karti hoon..apne ghar se...lekin kisi ko bata bhi nahin chaltha....

Armaan:Not even your parents??

Bharti:Nope..when they don't even care about me, how would they know about my whereabouts???

Armaan:They seriously don't care???

Bharti:Nope..They don't..Just their career is important to them and nothing else...Filhaal chale..Jiya must be waiting for us....

Armaan:How could I have misunderstood you??? I'm really sorry, Bharti..

Bharti:Arre yaar just chill..ab chalo....Let's run to Pearl's..It's 5 minutes from here....

Armaan:Night run??

Bharti:Yeah why not??

Bharti took Armaan's hand and both of them ran all the way to Pearl's.Armaan was surprised that he's even listening to Bharti and just let himself be with Bharti and both of them ran all the way to Pearl's with her.Both of them were panting when they reached Pearl's. Just then Armaan realized that they have got to book before they can eat from this restaurant and he looked at Bharti, who smiled at him and told him to look over to the table where Jiya was seated and the waiter escorted them to the reserved table.

Jiya:Well guys you two are quite late....

Bharti:Armaan wasn't even coming...so had to pull him all the way...Have you ordered???

Jiya:Nope not yet....good, just hold on...I'll be right back..

Jiya:So Armaan..

Armaan:What???

Just then Bharti's mobile rang. She had left it on the table while she went to the waiter to order some desserts for the three of them.

Jiya:Arre dekh toh sahi kaun hai jo tumhari pyaari patni ko iss waqt phone kar raha hain...

Armaan:Shut it Jiya..It's her phone..why should i??

Jiya:Alright..then I'll check...

Armaan:No you won't..

Jiya:Yes I will...

Armaan:No you won't for she's back...Hah!!

Bharti:Hi guyzz...

Jiya:Do you own this place or what?

Bharti:Why do you ask??

Jiya:So many desserts...banana split sundaes, brownies,..what's all these???

Bharti:I've been actually holding on to some of the vouchers so yeah...Bhaskar, Payal and I frequently come here so we get these often especially Payal and me..

Armaan:Bharti, your phone rang.

Bharti:Oh great..it's ringing again...Wonder who it is...

Bharti looked at her mobile. It was Abhishek and upon seeing his name, she rejected the call.

Jiya:Who is it??

Bharti:Well no one really...Some idiot!!

Armaan:Is there any problem??

Bharti:No worries guyzz..Just chill...

Jiya and Armaan looked at each other and wondered what the matter was but kept mum and started eating the desserts slowly.

Bharti's phone kept ringing and their conversation kept getting irritated and Bharti eventually switched off her mobile in a moment of anger.

Bharti:Sorry guys for the interruption..

Armaan:It's fine Bharti but you could have picked up your phone call...

Jiya:Yea..and now that we're friends you don't mind sharing who the idiot is??

Bharti:(smiled)Jiya it's a person called Abhishek....

Armaan:Abhishek??

Jiya:Abhishek??Who's Abhishek??

Bharti:I really don't wish to spoil the night guyzz...

Armaan:It's ok Bharti...

Jiya:Bharti I'm sorry but I do wish to know..if you don't mind....

Bharti:I don't have a problem sharing..Actually he's an exchange student whom I've met a year back..I found him quite ok,nice,friendly and we were getting along quite well...Things were going well and one day he just asked me out..

Jiya:What??

Bharti:What happened Jiya??

Jiya:Nothing..erm sorry for that...So what did you say???

Bharti:Actually yeah..but Jiya i don't know why I said Yes....Was it because of peer pressure that all my friends were attached except for me or was it that I was facing a lot of problems then and all I wanted then was someone to just cheer me up and make me forget all my troubles..And perhaps that's why I usually spend most of my time in either the university or out socializing with my friends and for a place to sleep, that's my home...

Jiya:So you're still going out with him??

Bharti:Actually after a few months after he asked me out, he confessed his feelings that he really likes me and I was like..I totally didn't expect that...For he was just a friend for me and nothing else but still I didn't know what went to me that i gave him a chance and I let myself go with the flow without thinking.It was as if it wasn't me...I felt drugged, you can say that again....And about 6 months earlier, both of us were just drinking casually and I just asked him a question, if he was ready to commit to me..Just for the fun of it and I wanted to know his reply so that I am able to find out if he's really serious.

Jiya:So what did he say??

Bharti:He just turned his back on me and that was it..No reply or whatsoever...I mean what the hell..You either say Yes or a No or thinking of guyz typically, at least some sort of an excuse...But no..He just left from there, as if I didn't even exist...I didn't know if it was me or what but I kept calling him but I received no answer...Then I've decided for good..I mean if he doesn't even care, why should I??Why should I waste my time waiting for some idiot???And now after 6 months, he's calling me up...I've gotten 60 missed calls so far..I mean how dare he even call me after all these???

Jiya:Whoa..I'm really sorry dear...I shouldn't have..

Bharti:No, it's fine Jiya..At least I'm feeling so much better now..Feeling much lighter now that I've shared and guess what..I've not even shared so much of these with Bhaskar and Payal but with you two instead...

Jiya:Don't worry..Everything's sealed in our hearts so don't worry!!

Bharti:Thanks Jiya..Real sweet of you..Hello..Armaan what happened??

Armaan:Oh..nothing..I was just...You should have told me earlier..I mean...

Bharti:I wanted to..but you were just not in the mood to become friends because of a major misunderstanding..Remember??

Armaan:I'm truly sorry for that..I really am....

Bharti:Acha bas bhi karo..I just hate too much of drama and emotions,yaar...So just forget it,k???

Just then Jiya's mobile rang. It was her dad who told her that her bodyguards will be there to pick her up.

Bharti:Bodyguards???Why do you need them??

Armaan:Well apparently her dad is a pretty influential person so for his security and the fact that her dad had received some threatening messages, he's just overprotective of Jiya...

Bharti:Your dad..

Jiya:He's in the army....as a sergeant...

Bharti:Interesting..I will love to meet him one day..I'm always fond of the army who's always there to provide security and no matter what, you can always trust them...At least most of them, I'm not talking of the corrupt people out there!!

Jiya:Ok guys I've got to go...Bharti it's great talking to you and congratz for your victory today....Lurved the sundae by the way....

Armaan:Ok girl..(kissed Jiya's cheek and hugged her) You take care..I'll see ya tomorrow...

Bharti:Bye Jiya...Oh yeah you've got my mobile number,yeah??Keep in touch!!!

Jiya:Sure thing..Talk to you soon...and don't worry, I'll drop by to see Sudha Aunty every now and then so we'll definitely meet...And keep ignoring those calls and you should, in fact, delete his contact for he's such a blood-sucking idiot indeed!!!!You deserve a much better guy who loves you unconditionally and accepts you just the way you are and perhaps he's just near you..You never know!!!(winked at bharti and left)

Bharti smiled at her and turned to look at Armaan who was having his last bite of the brownie and both of them were walking back, down the quiet street.
Armaan:Waise thanks for sharing your personal problems..It feels nice that at least you trust us...
Bharti:I trust my friends Armaan and I trust you especially for you've kinda helped me from getting from a big problem of meeting guys for those marriage alliances...Gosh I tell you...parents!!!!But you are seriously lucky and I so envy you yaar...
Armaan:Why??
Bharti:Because you've got the best mom!!!!That's why...
Armaan:She's going to be so elated upon hearing this...for I don't usually give her compliments...
Bharti:You should for she deserves all types of compliments..I never expected a mother-in-law to be like this....She's the best!!!
Armaan:I totally agree!!!
Bharti:Oh God i hope she doesn't find out...We're here....
Armaan just smiled at her, oblivious to the fact that his mum could find out that both of them had sneaked out of home. Just then he realized about his mum for Sudha opened the door,smiling at them and Bharti dropped her chocolate ice-cream cone.
Bharti:Hi mom...We just went for a small...(looked at Armaan) night walk...
Sudha:Interesting..Night walk with an ice-cream...Whose idea was it???
Sudha was surprised to see Armaan and Bharti pointing a finger each to the other and they wondered why Sudha was still looking at both of them and eventually both of them looked at each other and saw what they were doing. Both of them just looked at each other as Sudha bursted out laughing and Bharti was hitting Armaan's hand.Armaan let out a shriek for she punched Armaan real hard and he went inside shouting to Sudha that it was Bharti's plan and he just tagged along. Armaan went to the washroom while Sudha hugged Bharti and both of them were talking.
Sudha:Well well well what am I hearing???You sneak out of home every night???
Bharti:Yeah...but my parents don't really know and that's the fun of it but here you got to know it on the first day itself...
Sudha:That's because you guys forgot that I have a habit of reading late at night...
Bharti:Ahh yes I totally forgot....Well we'll inform you the next time round..
Sudha:Sure thing hunni..Are you going to sleep now or going to sneak out again???
Bharti:Mom...actually there was too much fun tonight so I think I'm gonna read a bit of my lecture and then go and rest...
Sudha:You want anything to drink??
Bharti:Nope I'm fully filled with desserts for the night so nothing else....
Sudha:Alright then I'll see you tomorrow in the morning then..Good night..again!!
Bharti:Good night Mom...

Bharti was about to take her book and go to the balcony so that it doesn't disturb Armaan but he told her that she can study while he wanted to watch TV for a while and she didn't have to go to the balcony to study. Bharti smiled and thanked him.Bharti didn't know what time she had slept for she was still sound asleep even after Armaan had woken up and taken a bath.Bharti's mobile was ringing and she wasn't even aware of it. Armaan knew he shouldn't be picking it up but he went to see who it was calling her early in the morning. He saw Abhishek's name and recalled what Bharti had told him and Jiya last night. He wanted to pick it up but he let it be. He went outside after folding the curtain and went to see what his mum is doing.She was preparing breakfast for her, Armaan and Bharti.
Sudha:Bharti kaha hai??
Armaan:She's still sleeping, Maa...
Sudha:Gosh she didn't sleep till like about 3 am or so...She gets so engrosse din her studies...
Armaan:You wouldn't believe it Maa...Last night she was telling me about how she usually spends a lot of her time either in the university or out socializing with her friends but only goes home just to sleep...
Sudha:Poor thing...I wonder how she even managed herself all these years...Everyone craves for the love of their parents..I felt terrible when I heard about her parents..
Armaan:Sshh Maa..Bharti's coming...
Bharti:Good morning guys sorry I woke up late..
Sudha:It's ok dear...Erm here's your breakfast, I'll make a move first for I've got some patients to meet and after that, a mini conference with several other staff so I better hurry..
Bharti:Have a great day Mom...

Armaan:Good morning..Well I wanted to say something...

Bharti:Oh my...I just remembered....A week later my university is organizing a Valentine's Party..so will you like to come with me???

Bharti:Armaan!!!!Why are you even suggesting the names of idiots like him???Saara morning kharab kar diya...
Armaan:Listen Bharti..Why don't you sort things out with him???
Bharti:What for Armaan???He didn't even ring back to see how I was for like what..6 months and now all of a sudden he remembers me???What the hell yaar....
Armaan:Maa hamesha kehti hai ke most of the problems in life is due to misunderstandings which result due to miscommunications!!!So why don't you meet him just once and talk it out with him???
Bharti:Ok Armaan give me..Just give me ONE good reason why you want me to sort things out with him??
Armaan:Erm maybe he's feeling regretful and wants to repent...You should always give a person a second chance Bharti...If you really care about him, then you should!!
Bharti:You know what Armaan??I don't even care about him so why should I give him a second chance in the first place???Sorry but I'm not giving him another chance to waste my time on...Simple!!!
Armaan:Fine Bharti..If you don't, I'm not coming with you for that valentine's Party of your's...Bye...Have a great day!!

Bharti was frustrated to the core. She didn't understand why Armaan wanted her to give Abhishek another chance for according to her,guys like him ought to be really thrashed hard and called Abhishek "commitment-phobic freak". Over the week, Armaan decided to not talk to Bharti properly till she sorted out her problem with Abhishek and he kept telling her to do so. One night, Sudha wondered what was cooking between them both.
Sudha:So what's the situation??Any problems??
Bharti:No Mom..no problem..
Armaan:Maa Bharti's got a problem..
Bharti:No I don't..(glares at Armaan)
Armaan:Yes you do Bharti..(smiles at Bharti)
Sudha:Bharti...do I have to interfere???
Bharti:No Mom..Aisi koi baat nahin hai...In fact it's just a trivial problem and I was just trying to ignore it, that's all...
