Hey everyone...lol long time no see...sup? :P
Assumption and Communication
"You're pregnant!?" Maan didn't know if he was asking or stating a mere fact
"Yes!" was all she replied before turning her face away.
"Wow! And here I thought you were just some gaon ki chori! Can't believe that you went all the wasy with your boyfriend!" Geet didn't reply and continue to look the other way
Maan wanted to hit something...not again...why did this always happened to him? Without another word...Maan started to walk out of the hospital room...just as he was about to walk out...
"Don't always assume things...not everything you think is reality!"
Maan turned around to look at Geet...but she was still looking away...as if she hadn't spoken at all. Shaking his head, he walked out of the room.
A man who had only lost his control once before...was now out of control again. Nothing in his room had survived his wrath!
"What's wrong, beta?"
Maan did not answer his dadi and went back to attacking the already injured lamp.
For the next few days, he kept to himself and if anybody tried to talk to him, all he did was give them an angry expression...that usually scared the other person away.
"How long is this going to continue on for, maaji?" Maan might not have taken birth from her womb, but Pammi loved him all the same. He was part of her like her other kids.
"I am not sure Pammi...but I think I know the reason...I'll go and talk to him!" Pammi tried to stop her mother-in-law but it was of no use.
Maan's Room
*knock*
*knock*
Maan opened the door ready to yell at the person outside but quickly looked away when he noticed dadi there. Without a word, he walked inside his room and stood in the middle of it. Dadi followed him inside silently as well.
"Do you want to talk about this?"
*silence*
"I am not sure what has happened but I am sure this has to do with Geet...right?"
Maan did not say anything but he did turn around to look at his dadi with seething eyes.
"I knew it! I won't ask you what happened but I just want you to tell you that sometimes communicating...without losing your cool...can be really helpful!"
With that, dadi left the room leaving Maan to his thoughts...
A week later
"Why isn't Geet here yet?" Maan slammed his file on the table as he yelled at Adi.
"S...sir...she...she wasn't feeling too well, so she has taken today off...!" Adi straightened up his glasses and looked at his boss with a scared expression.
"Fine! Leave!" Adi immediately scurried away
Maan paced around his room aimlessly...thinking back at Geet's and his dadi's words. Was he really getting too ahead of himself? Should he think this over once again? Frustrated, yet again, he trhew half of the content on the table on the floor with an expression that could make event he strongest of them all cry.
Few hours later
*knock*
*knock*
*click*
"Aap?"
"Can I come in?"
"If you are here to..."
"Can I come in?"
Geet stared at the man in front of her but did not say anything besides moving to the side to let him in. Neither of them said a word for few minutes and even tried to avoid any eye contact.
"Um..can I help you?"
Maan forced his attention away from the baby cradle in front of him to look at the woman he had learned to love.
"How can he leave you alone to take care of the child?" Maan was really mad at Gajinder or Gurvinder...whatever his name was...for abandoning Geet like that.
"I don't want the father of my child anywhere near us!" Geet proclaimed with a straight face and walked away to kneel beside the cradle.
"Wait...that guy tried to save your life, didn't he? I mean your love story is quite famouse in your village!" Geet looked up to meet Maan's taunting eyes with a confused expression.
"My love story?"
It was Maan's turn to look all surprised now...
"Yes...your.love.story!"
"What are you talk about?"
"Your's and that Gurvinder's!"
The expression on Geet's face was enough to convince Maan that he had been dead wrong about her all this time.
"You...you...what happened with you?"
"I don't like repeating my story!"
"When have you ever told me that?"
"Never..."
"Then?"
Geet did not say anything but allowed the silent tears to escape from her big brown eyes. After she had shed few tears, Maan finally handed her his handkerchief. They were silent again...
"I don't know what you think of me...but I would never do anything...or rather would have never done anything that would have brought shame to my family!"
"I believe you!"
Those three magical words brought fresh new tears in Geet's eyes as she looked up shocked at Maan. He gave her a slight nod to encourage her to continue...
An hour later
Maan stared at the woman crying in front of him..crying for a man...her husband...who had betrayed her. He didn't know who that person was but he was sure about one thing...he was going to find him and punish him severly for his deeds!
"Cry for those who are worth your tears!"
Geet looked up with tears in her eyes but before she knew it...she was engulfed in an awkward hug.
