Shashank Gupta is a famous business tycoon in one of the top industries of California, and is the husband of Padma, and they have two daughters, namely Muskaan and Riddhima. Shashank and Padma, as their daughters would argue, are the perfect parents. They have never let their daughters down on any occasion, and support them both thoroughly. Riddhima lives with her parents in California, but Muskaan, being the older one, had already started her medical internship in Sanjeevani, Mumbai, and thus, didn't want to leave it midway, and go to California. Also, parting with her fellow friends wasn't Muskaan like, and thus she stayed behind in Mumbai. Shashank and Padma were a bit hesitant in leaving Muskaan all alone in the first place, but knowing that Muskaan would be staying with their bset friends ' Gauri and Karan, they had no doubts about her safety and well being.

Karan Mallik is also a business tycoon in Mumbai, India, and owns a chain of Mallik industries. He has a lovable wife, Gauri, and they have two sons ' namely Armaan and Rahul'Gauri and Karan are most of the time supportive of their sons, but there are times when several arguments happen, but that is just when their sons are wrong in their way and Gauri and Karan know it. Karan and Gauri and two very caring and lovable parents, and were thrilled to know that their best friends' daughter would be staying with them. They take perfect care of Muskaan and treat her like a member of the family, and she is like a daughter to them.

The children, just like their parents, happen to be the best of friends. They share their every little secret ' from troubles, to rewards, to the worst enemies, to the deepest crushes! Armaan and Riddhima haven't met since 5 years, but still they have every idea of what's going on in their lives every second'The story takes a new turn, when after 5 years, Shashank and Padma have decided to visit Mumbai, on a three month trip, since the summer holidays are near as well.

Part 1

As the slight morning breeze ruffled the curtains, the birds chirped, the sun shone, there was someone who was oblivious to the beautiful gorgeous Californian morning. In her own dreamworld, Riddhima Gupta slept on, and the quiet and calm of the atmosphere was suddenly broken by the continuous beeping of an alarm clock.

" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" was the first and maybe the loudest sound heard around the whole house that morning from Riddhima's mouth. "Oh man, late....again!!!!!"
Riddhima quickly got up, and rushed to the closet. Flinging her clothes, that she found and rejected from her closet on the bed, she kept on muttering incoherently.

"No.No.No.NO. I cannot be late this morning!!! I worked so hard for the couple of days, and all that is obviously going to go dowwwn the drain!!!! Forget Karen to sign your leave application Riddhima, you aren't even going to get lunch break today!!"

She quickly rushed down the stairs, skipping two at a time, and after shouting out her "Good mornings" to her Mom - Padma Shashank Gupta - and her Dad -Shashank Anirrudh Gupta - , rushed towards the door, only to be stopped by Padma.

"Breakfast!!!" Padma sternly ordered, to an impatient looking Riddhima...

"Ma, pleeeeease, I am already so late, and, if I don't reach on time today, Karen is NOT going to approve of my leave application! Mom tomorrow is the flight, please mom, I have to convince her. As it is, tickets are booked already!!! "Riddhima pleaded with a really cute but impatient look, to which she saw her mother relenting.

"Okay, okay, at least take the parantha with you?" Padma was adamant that Riddhima has her breakfast!

"Fine !! " saying so, Riddhima rushed into the kitchen, grabbed the piping hot paraantha from the stove itself, burning her finger in the process, and shouting a loud "OUCH !!" rushed out of the house, before Padma could insist on a first - aid treatment.

"Aah, yeh ladki bhi na, always getting one injury, or the other! Apne se zyaada doosron ki kadar pehle karti hai ! "a worried Padma sighed and sat next to her husband who was reading "The Daily Times"

"Padma, tum itni chinta mat karo, ek din use aisa koi zaror milega jo apne se zyaada uski khushi ke baare mein sochega, aur zindagi bhar uska saath dega ! "Replied Shashank, calming his wife, and making her smile. As if reminded by something really urgent, Padma cries out!
"Hey bhagwaaan! Shashank, uthiye, we have to catch a flight tomorrow, aur humne theek se packing bhi nahin ki.. Pata hai, Gauri aur Karan ke gifts bhi abhi tak pack nahin kiye hain maine!!! "Padma hurried, pacing quickly to her room, and resuming her packing from the night before.

"Padma, relax, we finished most of our packing yesterday itself. Aur rahi presents ki baat, humne sab pack kar liya hai Padma, tu aise hi tension kar rahi ho! "Shashank replied after entering their room to see Padma looking around the room for something frantically..."Padma, please tum baith jao, packing ho jaegi, we have a full day ahead of us! "

"Haan, par phir bhi.."

"Padma, I know you're worried for the same reason we all are. Trust me, Mom will be fine, at least she is happy and not on bed rest. We are all there for her, right? Then why are you worrying??" Shashank explains calmly to his wife who has a wary expression on her face. Padma sighs and smiles, and knows that as long as her family is there with her, every hurdle would be solved.
