LOL! well considering you guys want bashing... and no-one here seems to bashing you, doesn't that mean you guys are doing a perfect job???

If you still want bashing here goes :P
1. I reckon the way you guys approach plaigarism here in this forum can be a little excessive... is there a need to make an example out of every single person? The way the red warnings are posted, they can seem a little scarey. I get it they are there as a warning to say 'do not copy... we are onto you' kind of thing but really is having such a big show and tell about it so important?
(p.s. I have no idea how you guys deal with the situation before its gets to the 'red warning' stage so am only commenting on what I've seen)
2. I feel alot of actions taken by you guys are done alot of the time from peer pressure from the members of the group. i.e. the recent event when someone posted a not so liked hurtful topic (not going to bother quoting what it was as it was very unpopular)... was it necessary to drag the situation out so much on the forum via posts? Could the same warnings not have been given via pm?
(again I have no idea what the modz did behind the scenes so am only commenting on what I saw)
(even bigger PS!!! lol hope this is enough bashing to get the other bashers started :P )

Thanks so much Lubna for the honest feedback. I'll just say whatever comes to my mind as a response, and let Madz add her views.
I guess the reason we make such a big deal out of plagiarism is because it really angers us. No one should be passing off someone else's hard work as their own. I honestly don't think it's enough to just give a PM warning for such a huge transgression. That being said, I guess we can try to tone it down a bit -- perhaps by not using the red text. Is there anything else you had in mind?
As for your second complaint, I don't actually know which post you're referring to. Was I not around? Hopefully Madz can clarify that.
Thanks again!

I don't think I got what I was trying to say across properly... the 'red warnings' are understandable and I completely understand why they are used... to make sure that the note isn't overlooked and that notice is taken... but as I said I don't know what you guys do behind the scenes however I think possibly starting off with pm warnings and then if the member doesn't cooperate or listen or stop doing copying all together then go the next step up and close off the offending topic with a warning so everyone has been made aware.
The reason why I think PM's should be used instead of posting a straight forward 'red warning' is because even though everyone knows plaigarism is wrong in every way possibly, if someone thinks they can get away with it they try it... the PM will show them that they are being watched and that it's not something to hide. Also by using a PM to warn the member, it means that they have a chance to rectify their mistake and can in future if they come up with their own creative thoughts post topics.
What the 'red warnings' do is it just warns off readers from a particular member because that member was once caught doing something wrong... I'm not trying to say that plaigarism is correct nor am I saying that those who copy other people's work should be allowed to get away with it, but if after the being sent PM's from Modz the person doesn't stop it then I figure it's okay to make it known to the rest of the FF forum that person is doing wrong and isn't willing to rectify their ways
As for your second complaint, I don't actually know which post you're referring to. Was I not around? Hopefully Madz can clarify that.
As for this one, it's not so much of a complaint... more of an observation as I personally may have (who knows) done so much more, but I'll send you a PM with the links I'm referring to and a brief breakdown of my observations from it...
Thanks again!

Finally I just came across something else and I partly feel responsible for this 😕
This FF was closed down with a note which I think could have benefitted from the PM warning system I detailed above.
Thanks Modz for taking time out to do this... I just hope I'm not the only one who end's up doing this 'bashing' lol

I recently saw a note which lubna was referring to .

I think when it comes to take an action which could demotivate the writer from further writing or even feel embarased to come and join again when they have been around for long time ..
I understand what suhanasafar said that PM's are not enugh, but then that could have been done using the warning system.

There could be a system like double rise in warning level for certain offense . e.g if an ff has an adult content the writer's warning level could be raised double the amount and it would still not make them feel embarased or offended openly .but they would have in mind the consequences .

If you still want bashing here goes :P Woot! 🤗

The way the red warnings are posted, they can seem a little scarey. I get it they are there as a warning to say 'do not copy... we are onto you' kind of thing but really is having such a big show and tell about it so important? I remember the good old days when we could PM the members and then they'd just deny it and it'd be a fruitless argument. Usually, we actually have to take some action in the thread itself because of multiple reports...some people actually decide to take matters in their own hands and go on to the thread to degrade the writer...thus causing, or at least calling for, a tiff.

There's been several rules for plagiarism, yet some members do it more than once, and PM warnings have no effect on them.

So we decided to be stricter...but we will definitely reconsider this. You bring up a good point Lubna! Thank you. ⭐️

So, if they don't pay heed to our PM's, we just raise their warning level.

Hmm, thanks for bringing up this suggestion, we'll definitely discuss this, just the thing is, sometimes, some members don't care about their warning level either! 😳

But I definitely understand where you're coming from.

I'd like to admit here that Rabia and I felt the adult content issue has gone completely out of hand and so we had to take some stricter action....for while some understood it, others still haven't done anything about it.

If people really understand the rules and do not wish to write any more adult content...then they can definitely relay this to us through PM's and we'll allow them to write again.

Otherwise, there's 200+ pages of FF's, we certainly cannot keep up with every single one, so the content poster might decide to go against the rules and continue w/it again...then what?

Unless someone reports them, we probably won't find out.

But it turns out, people actually "like" this content and do not wish to report it.

What must be done then?

Hmm, thanks for bringing up this suggestion, we'll definitely discuss this, just the thing is, sometimes, some members don't care about their warning level either! 😳then they can wait to get completly banned and i have seen members are quite keen to keep their status like goldie and others and wouldlike to hang on to their profile saying for how long they have been around.😉

Im glad we have some sensible readers here who try to keep this forum worth spending time. I would really encourage readers to report such stuff coz such threads become successful only coz of readers.

Also a close eye can be kept on FF's whose titles suggest that some adult content could be expected.

Unless someone reports them, we probably won't find out.
Mod team can put up some motivating option for the readers to report ff's which have adult content like may be who ever reports , gets recognition....but then mods will be flooded with reports 😆

But it turns out, people actually "like" this content and do not wish to report it. and most of them who like this belong to younger slot

What must be done then?

I guess its time that not just writers , but readers should be reported as well who encourage adult content.
that would get a message to readers as well that they might be in trouble for being a part of such offense , we still cant stop them from reading....but then writers would know that they wont get any appreciations for such content.

@kehan... i like the idea of readers being reported as well.. its true, one HUGE motivation in posting adult content is how easily popular it gets withut having to bother with real writing/story content or talent... its like a honey bot with bees :D

@modz... personally there have been times ive heard or read stuff which looks outrageous and merely ignored it, in the sense of never getting back to the writer or their fics... but i understand your dilemma, on my part shall try to be more prompt about real action...

much as realize the how delicate this comment becomes to be spoken, the younger readers/writers on FF do seem to lose track of rules... plus, another writer on this forum Sookie, informed me that the rules n regs of IF permit members 16 and above... should people younger even be allowed? i know its impossible to bar the ages all the time, but i bet theres plenty of them out here without hidden facts of their ages, younger than 16... ??

ps: that was a well raised point kanu :)
