CHAPTER TWO
Next day at Bhushan house, Gunjan and Nupur are getting ready to go to college. Suddenly Nupur notices Gunjan's hand !
Nupur : Gunjan, what happened to your hand ?? How did it get burned? Did you apply any cream on it ?? How could you be so careless ??
Gunjan : Di !! I'm fine ! I just burned it a little last night at Samrat's place, while cooking ! You don't worry, Samrat had applied the cream immediately !! I'm perfectly fine now !
Nupur : Samrat applied the cream himself ?? He got time from Sheena to take care of your hand ?
Gunjan : Di ! Don't start again !
Nupur : Alrite fine !! Sorry ! Can we please go now ?? Or we'll be late for college !!
As they were about to leave, Gunjan cell phone rings !! It's Samrat.
Samrat : Where did u disappear last night Chashmish ! I was looking for you !!
Gunjan : I just ,,,,,
Samrat : Ok, rest of the conversation laters ! I'll be outside your house in few minutes !! We'll go to college together !
Gunjan : But Samrat ........
Samrat : Gunjan, I'm not listening to any excuses ! My bike has been missing you !! You are always making excuses these days ! Am not hearing any excuse today ! See you in 5 minutes !
Samrat hangs up the phone, before Gunjan could say anything ! Gunjan turns to
Nupur, before she could say anything, Nupur speaks up.
Nupur : Was that Samrat ? Is he coming to pick you up ??
Gunjan : Yeah Di !
Gunjan is puzzled.
Gunjan : I thought Samrat would be picking up Sheena for college after their date last night ?
Nupur is also surprised, but quite happy. It seems to her that Samrat is not that big of a dhakkan then she thought !!
An hour later at Excel College, Sheena is walking in the corridor looking for someone, when she bumps into Diya.
Sheena : Gosh ! I'm sorry !
Diya : Watever ! U know babes, you should be careful about where you are headed !
Sheena: Thanks for the advice, but I was looking for Samrat and accidentally bumped into you.
Diya : Babes you should know by now that Samrat spends his time equally with all his friends. If u know what I mean ! No friend of his is more special to him.
Sheena: Hmmm, not even Gunjan ?
Since Diya had no reply, she walks away !
Sheena decides to go to the class, because it seems that Samrat hasn't arrived yet ! She was just about to reach the class when she sees Samrat and Gunjan walking towards the class. As they come near, Sheena notices a small teddy bear in Gunjan's hands. She walks up to them.
Sheena : Hey guys !
Samrat : Hey babes !
Gunjan: Hi Sheena.
Sheena : Wow, what a cute teddy bear !
Samrat : Ofcourse the teddy bear is cute !! After all its Samrat's gift !! His gift is just as cute as him.
Sheena : Oh is it your birthday Gunjan ??
Samrat : No babes ! Remember I told you that Chasmish burned her hand while making coffee for me, so it's this gift is my way of saying sorry !!
Sheena : I see ! Well it's really very cute !!
Samrat : I know I'm very cute ! But there is another reason for getting such an adorable teddy bear.
Sheena : And what's that ?
Samrat : Chashmish is januable, that in order to say sorry to her, I have to get her a gift which is as januble as her !
Sheena : What's januable ??
Gunjan, who was getting slightly uncomfortable with the conversation and with the questioning look in her Sheena eyes, that she excused herself, and was about to
leave, when Benjy joins them too.
Benjy: Hi Gunjan ! Sam ! I have been waiting for you dude ! U were supposed to come early !! Princi has been asking about you !
Samrat : Benjy, I had to pick up Chashmish for college ! You just chill !! I'll handle princi.
Gunjan, finally manages to break away from the group and goes into the class and sits down.
Benjy : What's happened to Gunjan's hand ?
Samrat : Long story ! But she won't be able to write notes today, so you will write them for her !! You know what to do right ?
Benjy : Aye ! Aye Captain !
Benjy goes and sits next to Gunjan. Sheena who was listening to everything, could resist speaking her mind.
Sheena : Benjy doesn't like me ?
Samrat : Benjy is very choosy when it comes to making friends ! If you have noticed, he isn't very friendly with Diya either.
Sheena : Hmmm ! But he seems to like Gunjan !
Samrat : Who wouldnt like Chashmish ? She is so sweet !
Sheena : Hmmm, that's why you asked Benjy to write notes for her and he agreed ! And I had thought it was only Gunjan who takes care of her friends ! But even you are very considerate of your friends !!
Samrat : My friends are very important to me, especially Chashmish ! I can't bere to see her in pain !!
Sheena, who had been contemplating about Samrat and Gunjan all night, finally had a very clear picture now. But she seems to be the only one who did apparently.
Samrat : So Sheena, when is our next date ???
Sheena : That's for me know and for you to wait for !!
Sheena walks away and goes and sits in class. Samrat joins her.
Later in the afternoon, Gunjan is coming out of the library. She sees Samrat waiting for her !
Samrat : Now that you are free from your books, shall we go ?
Gunjan : Where ?
Samrat : Chashmish, do you go somewhere else after college ? I'm talking about home ?
Gunjan : No Samrat, I'll be going home with Di, and you will go with Sheena ! Samrat, you have waited for this day so much and now you are dropping me home instead of her ! Infact you should have picked up Sheena in the morning instead of me ! Now go before she leaves.
Samrat ; Are u sure you'll go home with Nupur ?
Gunjan : Yes Samrat, now go !!
Samrat : Why are you so januable ??
Samrat is looking at her, wondering what did he ever do to deserve someone as precious as Gunjan as his chashmish. He suddenly, reaches out and caresses her cheek ! Gunjan, who is surprised, automatically take steps back.
Gunjan : Samrat ? What happened ?
Samrat : Nothing ! Bye chashmish !
Samrat walks away, to find Sheena. Gunjan reaches up and touches her cheek where Samrat has caressed it.
Gunjan : Bye Samrat.
