CHAPTER THREE

Two weeks later at Excel, Benjy is waiting at the BB court for Samrat to come for practice. He is still a little pensive ! Usually a girl doesn't hold Sammy's interest for more then a month, but it has been more then that in Sheena's case. He wonders what Sammy sees in her. Gunjan is so much better then her, in fact Gunjan is better then most girls in Excel. She is perfect for Sam. He doesn't understand how could Sam, NOT notice her ! Actually he does understand. Sammy doesn't believe in love. He is happy with flirting around, but this Sheena thing seems to be exceeding the flirting stage. He was just thinking about this when he hears someone calling out his name. He turns around, and it is none other then Sheena !! Think of the devil and she appears!

Benjy: If you have come to ask me about Samrat, you have wasted your time ! I have been waiting for him too !

Sheena : You don't like me ? Right ?

Benjy is surprised ! He didn't expect her to be so blunt.

Benjy : You are very blunt !

Sheena: Saves time !

Benjy : Whether I like you or not, it shouldn't affect you, because my opinion doesn't influence Samrat.

Sheena : True ! But you seem to like Gunjan a lot !

Benjy : Gunjan is special !

Sheena : Whoever she meets, she touches them with her innocence ! Right ?

Benjy may not like Sheena, but that hasn't stopped him for noticing how sweet she is to Gunjan. That's probably the only thing he liked about her.

Benjy : Right !

Sheena : Anyways, could you please tell Samrat that I won't be able to go home with him today ? I have to go somewhere else !! I would have told him myself, but I can't find him and I'm getting late.

Benjy, reluctantly agrees to do so. As Sheena is about to leave, one of the basketball players, who was practicing, bumped into Sheena and she went crashing into Benjy ! They would have both fallen, hadn't Benjy steadied both of them. Now he had his hand around her waist and Sheena's hand was on his shoulder. Once they realized that they were both ok, they noticed how close they were. Woah !! Benjy suddenly let go of her and stepped back! Sheena looked a little flustered too. She muttered her thanks and walked away.

Five minutes later Samrat enters the basketball court and walks up to Benjy.

Samrat : Dude, can we start the practice now ? Later I have to drop Sheena home too.

Benjy : Sheena dropped by ! She has left a message for you ! She won't be able to go home with you today !

Samrat : Cool !! That means I get to spend some time with Chasmish !

Benjy : Nope !

Samrat : Why not ?

Benjy : She was called into the Princi's office earliar today, and he told her that she has to go to the radio station today for the test run of her show ! Poor Gunjan !

Samrat : What do you mean, poor Gunjan ?

Benjy : She is suffering from a severe headache and now instead of heading home, she has to drop by the radio station.

Samrat : Chashmish has a headache ? Where is she ?

Benjy : In the music room, checking some CD's.

Samrat ; Could you do something for me ?

He says something to him and heads to the music room !

When he entered the music room, he found Gunjan sitting at the table, with the CD's lying around her, pressing her temples. As soon as she saw Samrat, she immediately stopped what she was doing and started looking at the CD's again.

Samrat : Hey Chashmish ! I just heard that you have a practice run at the radio station today ? Just let me know whenever you get free, and we'll both go ! I won't let you go alone.

Gunjan : Samrat its ok, I'll go on my own !! You have to drop Sheena home too, she'll be waiting for you.

Samrat : She isn't waiting for me, so I'm free and I'm going with you.

As they were talking, Benjy came inside and gave something to Samrat.

Samrat : Thanks Benjy !

Benjy : Anytime dude !

Samrat : Basketball practice ?

Benjy : I'll handle it !! Bye Gunjan.

Gunjan : Bye Benjy

Benjy leaves, shutting the door of the music room behind him.

Gunjan : Samrat, why are you missing your practice because of me ?

Samrat came close to her, sits on the table, where the CD's are lying and leans towards her pressing a finger on her lips. Gunjan immediately stopped talking.

Samrat : Shhhh ! I can see and feel your pain Chashmish.

Gunjan is terrified. He couldn't know about her feelings for him ! He just couldn't.

Samrat : You thought you could hide it from me, but I know everything ! You have been caught !

Gunjan is stunned. She doesn't know what to do ! How did he found out ?

Samrat : I'll be honest, I wouldn't have known if Benjy hadn't told me.

Gunjan : Benjy ?

Samrat : Yep Benjy ! He was the one who told me about your headache.

Gunajan : Headache ?

Samrat : Yes, headache ! What did you think I was talking about ? Is there anything else that you are hiding from me ?

Gunjan breathes a sigh of relief ! She may not be afraid anymore, but she still had butterflies in her stomach, because Samrat was still very close to her, his face only inches away from her. She gets up, only to find herself being sat down again in the chair.

Samrat : Forget the CD's !! First we have to take care of your headache.

Gunjan : I'm fine.

Samrat : Chashmish, be quite ok ?

Samrat comes behind her, puts his hand on her shoulder and gently pushes her back, so that her head is lying on the back of the chair,

Gunjan : Samrat !

Samrat : Chashmish ! Close your eyes.

Gunjan : But Samrat !

Samrat : Don't you trust me?

Gunjan closed her eyes. Few seconds later, she feels something cool on her forehead. Samrat was applying balm, very, very gently. Gunjan felt a lump in her throat at the sweet gesture. She felt choked up. She felt tears coming in her eyes. She tried so hard to hold them back, but one lone tear escaped and trickled out of the corner of her eye, which Samrat notices. He stops massaging the balm on her forehead to catch that one tear on his finger tip.

Samrat : Is the pain that bad Chashmish ?

How was she supposed to tell him, that it wasn't the headache which had brought tears to her eyes. Before she could answer him, he told her to close her eyes again, and continued to massage her head again. Ten minutes must have passed when Gunjan reached back with her hand to stop him.

Gunjan : Thank u Samrat, I feel much better now.

Samrat : Chashmish, you know about my policy about saying thank you and sorry right ?

Gunjan : Yes I do, now help me in selecting songs, so we can leave for the radio station or we'll be late.

Samrat : Are you sure you are ok now ? Truly ?

Gunjan : Yes, truly.

As Samrat got busy in selecting the songs for her, she wondered how is she suppose to keep a check on her feelings, specially when he is so loving, caring, and attentive towards her.
