Diya's POV
The colourful lights blinking brightly,the loud music and the loud cheering of the crowd was all that was expected.Discos are meant to be loud-I told myself and a disco party at Regency with the most happening crowd in Delhi is my element.I fit here completely.
Yet I felt a little uncomfortable.I took a deep breath-Its probably because its the first time I am here with RV.
Two strong arms gripped my shoulder- I started but someone chuckled.
""Princess relax!Here is something for you to drink-""RV said handing me a glass.
I turned back to thank him and then stepped back.RV was standing close to me- too close to me.As I stepped back he stepped forward- I smiled politely and said firmly.
""Lets go sit."" He gave me a look and then chuckled patronisingly.
My No-contact approach really amused him-He often laughed when I tried to put some distance between us- I guess it was because for him it was natural to be close to his date- For me it was uncomfortable-Yes I had been dating him for two weeks but I still needed some time before being physically intimate.
We sat at a couch.He brushed my hair away from my cheek and grinned at the person sitting next to us.
""Arya - Meet Diya!Isnt she a pretty little thing-""
My smile stopped mid-way.First of all I am not a thing and secondly I hated the tone he was using- It was not something that I liked.
""Wow-RV- It is you!Long time dude-""he turned to me-""And calling her pretty is an understatement.""
I was sitting right there for god's sake.I wanted to retort when clutched my wrist.
""She is mine- Hands off!""
He pulled me along to the dance floor and started dancing.
""You could have asked.""I said sullenly.
He looked surprised.
""Asked you what?""
""Whether I wanted to dance.You just dragged me along-""
He moved closer-
""Princess I thought you like dancing-""
""Yes but..""I began
He placed a finger on my lips.
""Sssh-""His eyes darted to my lips and he whispered.""If you would rather do something else.""
I took a deep breath and stepped back.
""Come on Diya- dont be such a prude.""
I shook my head.
""I need to go to the washroom""
I almost raced out of the hall and came to sit still in the lounge,trying to collect my thoughts.I dont know why I always am apprehensive when I am with RV.After all he is my boyfriend with every right to touch me or hold me or even comment on how he wants to kiss me.It was not wrong-It was normal and yet I always start panicking at the mere thought.
I fit here- Here among this cool crowd - I belong here- I am meant to do all that they do.I am not a prude- I belong here-But he never asked before dragging me there
""-Why not ask me first-""I told myself.
"Excuse me'?""A cool voice drawled at me.
I looked up and saw Sujoy Bose staring at me with his signature smirk.
""What?""
His smirk became pronounced.
""Manners Ms.Sharma-""
As always I felt an bursting anger.I stood up and almost screeched.
""Dont teach me manners- I am not your pupil and you are not my guardian-""
And as always my retort had no effect whatsoever on him.
""Are you always this fiesty?""
I am fiesty-I stamped my feet in frustration.This seemed to amuse him even more.
""I am not fiesty.""I said with clenched teeth.
""Yes you are-""
""No I am not-""
""Prove it.""he challenged.
I stared at him.Prove it- how does one prove it anyway?And it was his tone that bothered- That two fickle worth lawyer dared to question my answer-
I glared at him.He smiled politely at me.
God I wish I could punch his teeth out -That put an end to his polite smiles- even he I suppose could not smile with his front teeth missing
""I knew you could not prove it.""he said conversationally.
""Why are you even bothering to talk to me-""I demanded.
""I thought you spoke first-""
I sneered-
""Like I,Diya Sharma,would find it fit to talk to a lowly lawyer like you at a social meeting.""
His expression did not change but his eyes seemed to harden.
""Excuse me - I guess I didnot know that Diya Sharma time and again has loud conversations with her hallucinations in social meetings-""
""I dont hallucinate -""
He shrugged.I stamped my foot in frustration again-I needed to stop doing that- My new Prada heels were quite expensive.
""Thats for you to decide.""
""I have decided-""
""Decided what?""
I stared at him- What did I decide?As I progressed the question in my head- a voice called

I turned around to see RV sauntering to me,his eyes fixed on me adoringly.
""What is taking you so long?""he murmured .I looked at Sujoy wondering whether he will tell on me to my brother- How would Mayank react?How would Mom react?
I looked at Sujoy and frowned.He was staring at us with a very peculiar expression.Before I could speak RV turned to Sujoy.
""Sujoy?!What are you doing here?.""
"I was here to meet Mr.Singhania over some legal work-""
RV cupped his shoulder.
""You work too hard Sujoy- You should have more fun-""
He smiled.
""Our defination of fun is not the same as you well know RV- I need to get going- unless..""he stopped at eyed me warily-""You need a drop home?""
If I was not Diya Sharma my mouth would have dropped open to a perfect O- But I was and so I managed to control my expression- Is this the same guy who had unceremoniosly dumped me when I fainted- Now he wanted me to take a lift back home when I had my boyfriend with me-
I stared at him trying to understand why he was looking at me so earnestly- but for the life of me I could not understand.
""I will drop her home.""RV said finally.Sujoy ignored him and looked at me.
I nodded.He gave a last edgy look at walked away.
