Part 2

Riddhima's cabin was big but simple.....its not decorated too much....some paintings are hanging on the walls of the cabin....the color of the office is a shade of pale blue...there is a big glass cupboard filled with books on law in the corner of the cabin........her desk is piled with files and papers....soft rays of the sun is falling on the desk from the window .....and Riddhima is deeply engrossed in the papers strewn on her desk .....she heard a knock at her door ......she said "come in" without even looking up from the papers......as she heard the door closed...she looked up and saw an elderly man standing in front of her......he is about 65 years.....Ridz told the man "please sit down ....sir".....the man sat down quitely lost in his own thoughts ....Riddhima asked him " Sir.....may i know...how can i help u??" .....Riddhima's soft low voice broke the man's reverie.....he cleared his throat and said " my name is Kunal Mehra .......i have got a garments company.....we export our garments to US and UK.....i dont know if u have heard the name of the company.....its Mayfair Textiles".....Riddhima looked up when she heard the name of the company....she nodded her slowly....."Isnt that the same company that bagged the biggest export deal from a famous company in US?? ......namely Robertson and Co.??"......Kunal looked at Riddhima and nodded looking surprised.....he said" i did not know our company is that famous that u will know abt it ?? ".....Riddhima said " your company is quite famous now.....i read abt the deal in the newspaper .....Mayfair Textiles bagged the biggest deal in the market....so many companies were contesting for it .....but u got the deal".....Kunal said "Ah, we got the deal thanks to my Son"......Riddhima smiled a little and said " so Sir...how may i help u?? ".......Kunal's smile suddenly disappeared , he said "My grandson had been missing since 2 weeks now......and yesterday his body was found dumped in a lake".....Riddhima looked at him in surprise and said "was he 18 or 19 years old??.....and was strangulated??"......Kunal said "yes .....but how did u know?? "......Riddhima " i read in the newspaper today....i know he was not identified as to who he is ....i guessed ".......Kunal " i had reported in the police station when my boy went missing........they called me today early morning to identify a body.....i went there and ...."....Kunal's voice broke there ......he could not continue......Riddhima remained quiet for sometime....she knew Kunal needed some time to recover ......seeing Kunal reminded her of his father....Riddhima had a very formal relation with his father......it was not a warm father-daughter relation neither did they hate each other.....Riddhima hardly remembers a moment when she shared a joke with her father.....still Kunal reminded her of her father.....may be because he was her father's age.

Riddhima spoke to Kunal after sometime........"But sir.......do u suspect anyone who murdered your Grandson?"....Kunal pausing a bit said "no".......Riddhima said " Sir i am a lawyer and this is a case where an investigator can help u....the murderer.......and the motive for the murder has not been found out......how can i fight your case when there isnt one??"....Kunal said "thats just it.......i want u to find out the murderer and then fight the case for me"......Riddhima looked surprised.....she again repeated " but i am a lawyer and not an invesigator.......why me??"......Kunal said simply " because i trust only u".....Ridz said "u dont even know me and u trust me??....how ??......why??".....Kunal said " i read about one of your cases....u saved an accused when he was charged of murder because u found out that he was innocent"......Ridz said "incidentally i had lost that case......i was fighting against accused".....Kunal said "exactly.....u could have won the case.....but even though u were against him.....when u came to know abt the truth u preferred to lose the case and save the innocent than let him be punished for a crime he never committed......thats the reason i trust u.....i know u will find the reason why my Grandson was killed.....and who killed him"........Riddhima said " u trust me because of only that case ??.....i am surprised"....Kunal sighed and said "if u dont want to help me then its ok......i will not force u"...Riddhima thought for sometime and said slowly...."i will help u "

It was 11:00 am .....Mayfair Textiles was bustling with activity .......the new deal with the US company have excited everyone..
everyone is ready to do whatever they can to make this project successfull ........a short highted man entered the building and then went towards the reception.........the girl in the reception pointed towards the elevator ........the man went inside the elevator and pressed 6th floor button.......he came out of the elevator and knocked at the CEO's cabin door situated at the end of the corridor......a deep voice from inside asked him to come inside......the man entered and saw a young man of about 28 sitting at the desk engrossed in some files......the man asked "Has the CEO gone out?"......the young man looked up from his file and gave a lopsided smile and said "he is sitting right infront of u......Hi .......i am Armaan Mallik.....the CEO of Mayfair Textiles".......he stretched out his hand towards the man... the man gulped and said " i thought the CEO was an old man"......and then he shook his hands with Armaan fervently as if to make up his mistake....the man continued " i am Ravi Nair from Imagine Insurance Co.......i have been sent to discuss abt the renewal of your company's insurance policy with us".....Armaan smiled and said " will i have to 'imagine' the insurance??😉"........seeing Ravi's confused 😕 expression he said....."i was joking !!! 😆.......show me the documents".......Armaan while reading the documents said "just curious.......why did u think that i would be an old man?? ".......Ravi said "Actually when i spoke to u over the phone..... u sounded a bit old....pardon me".....Armaan laughed loudly and said " oh it was u who called from the Insurance office.....i was not in my cabin then....Uncle Joe spoke with u".......Ravi said sheepishly "oh i see....that was your uncle....he did not say abt u being not there so i thought...."......Armaan gave back the documents to him and said...."My uncle speaking and me speaking are the same....he holds more authority over here than me....he is the owner of the company remember that"........Ravi said "sorry sir if i offended u".....Armaan said "its fine......not need to apologize......i read those documents.......i need to talk to the company's lawyer to verify some clauses there.......please leave a copy of those documents here....after i call your office then only bring the policy papers for the signatures".....Ravi said "fine sir.....i will take leave then".......Armaan shook hands with him and Ravi left the cabin.

Armaan relaxed in his chair a bit and closed his eyes .........the stress for the new project is getting onto him.....but he is liking it.....his dream of making Mayfair the biggest company is coming true......he has been working as CEO of this company since 7 years now.......people were surprised to see a 21 year old being appointed as CEO......many thought he will ruin the company...Armaan proved all his detractors wrong.....Mayfair earned profits which it never earned before after Armaan came and emerged as one of the strongest contenders in the Garments industry ......Armaan sighed and remembered the day his dad came and told the decision abt making him the CEO of the company......he was shocked and asked his dad "why me??......how can i run a big business like that??"....Armaan's dad Anuj patted his back and said "my friend and i have full faith in u.......try it out my son......u will be successful"......Armaan said" But it was fine......u were looking after it.....i know Uncle Joe is not in a condition to look after the business.......but u can manage right??"......Anuj said " u know i have got my own business too...i wont be able to look after Mayfair too....specially now with the new project that Mallik Industries have got"......Armaan after sometime said "Ok dad i will try my best "........Anuj said "i know Armaan.......u will be successful"......Armaan opened his eyes remembering that day......it was as fresh as if it had happened yesterday only.......Armaan is happy with what he achieved till now but he yearned for more.......he wants Mayfair to reach the top......Armaan looked towards the window of his cabin....it has started to rain again.

Thats all for now 😆😆😆.........i know many of you wanted Armaan to to Riddhima in this part.....sorry it did not happen 😳.......AR will meet quite soon 😉 ....u will have to wait a bit i am sorry 😆

hi paromita,

luved the concept. i rlly ike to read anything with loads of mystery, murder n thrill n that's why i'll be glued to ur ff till the very end!!! the second part was quite good. with the backgound of the case that u've given it seems to be a pretty good one.n with armaan's entry that also as the ceo of the corp, wonder how they'll meet. update soon
