Mayank came back to his room to find nupur sleeping at one corner of the bed..he knew that she was not sleepin but pretending to sleep..but he didnt bother to ask the reason for it....he was already pissed off to listen to any of lame excuse for avoiding the topic.
He went to change as he was dripping for head to toe
Nupur's POV
As soon door opened ..i culd feel my heart thumping against my chest..it was not coz for fear but because of guilt...Guilt of not being a perfect wife...Guilt for not able to care for the person who gives his life on me...Guilt of hiding the truth from the person who trust me blindly...
I closed my eyes...pretending to sleep but somewhere inside i knew that mayank z aware that i am not sleeping. I thought he may ask for the reason but he didnt...maybe today he lost his faith on me ...n i cant blame him ...i was at fault..
I culd feel tears swelling up in my eyes....n few rolled down from the corner of my eyes..i wiped them immideately n tried to calm myself..which was impossble at this point of time.....
Mayank's POV
Mayank came and slid inside the blanket...with my back facing towards nupur...I was cursing myself for the proximity...just because of me , nupur went back to square one ...with the same uncomfortable air between us ..n pain in her eyes..
but somewhere..i was hurt..not because she avoided coming close to me..but she didnt trust me ...she didnt find me capable enough to share her sorrows with..!! All day long , i think of making her comfortable around me n today it seemz that all my effort went to bay....and i was frustrated..not knowing whom to get angry on...myself or her
Next morning mayank woke up to find nupur sleeping close to him , with her back pressed against his chest..he smiled luking at her..but the smile didnt last long as he looked at her pale face n dried tears ..he knew that she wept the entire night n he cursed himself for her state..
He woke up ..trying his best to avoid disturbing her as he didnt want her to feel uncomfortable with the proximity which they shared unknowingly
He was ready to leave for work n still nupur was asleep...n he didnt wake her up...maybe she needed nap to calm herself
Mayank went downstairs n had breakfast with his mom and samrat
'' where is bhabhi ..bro ??''samrat asked as he grabbed a toast in is hand
''she is sleeping'' mayank said ..trying to be as normal as he could
''sleeping ??'' samrat gawked at me
''uhmm.,..yeah''
''is she fine beta ??'' mom asked with concern visible
''yeah mom...nothing to worry..actually we got a bit late at night while cuming back ..n she jst had head-ache in the moring..so i asked her to take rest'' mayank answered trying to sound convincing enough
''ohh...gud u asked her to rest..does she need a doctor ??''mom asked
''ahmm..no..she'll be fine '' mayank said
Mayank continued playing with the toast as he was avoiding the intense suspicious gaze from samrat...
Soon Shilpa left ..which left mayank with samrat
''bro.??''
''yes !!''
''did u really mean wat u said ??''
''wat u mean samrat ?/'''
''i mean...u were late or u didnt sleep the entire night'' ..mayank looked up at him immideately..n samrat burst out laughing
''that was not funny samrat'' mayank sounded stern
Samrat continued laughing n mayank went to to work..
Around an hour later..nupur woke up with her head banging hard..
She looked around n it was 11am...she swiftly woke up n freshened up and went downstairs..to find samrat flipping the pages of sportz magazine
'heyy bhabhi''..
''hii...mayank left ?'' nupur came helping her with a cup of tea
''yeah...'' samrat answered casually ''are u feeling better now ??''
nupur looked at him perplexed
''woh bhahiya told that u were having a headache'' samrat clearified
''ohh..yeah..better'' nupur answered
''great'..but u look pale'' samrat said with concern
''no..itz jst''
''wait a minute'' samrat stopped her n checked her forehead n it was burning
''bhabhi u are burning with fever!!!'' samrat shouted
''no samrat ..itz fine''
''noo...how an u say that also..wait..i am gonna cll bhahiya'
''wait..samr...'' before she could stop him , samrat already left him the msg as his call was on waiting
Around half n hour later..mayank came rushing in...tension was clearly visible on his face
''where z nupur ?''mayank asked samrat , as he opened the door for her
'' bhabhi z in room''
mayank ran towards his room..
''bhahiya..i have some work..can i leave?'' samrat asked myank as he was about to open the door of his room
''yeah''
''do call me if u need anything..i'll be back soon''
''dont worry...u leave''
Samrat left n mayank entered the room to find nupur adjusting the bed covers
''cant u take rest'' mayank said
nupur stared at him...he had the same care in his eyes...but the flashes of last night zoomed around ..n she turned her face ..trying to control her tears
''i am fine mayank..it was jst''
''i am not asking u anythng...jst take rest''
''but ..''
''why u have to be so stubborn??..this work can be done later''mayank tried to be polite ..but in vain

nupur left the covers there n went to sat on bed
mayank sat next to her..
''are u fine?'' mayank looked down . guilty of blasting at her evn when she was not wel
''yes mayank..i am ''
''did u call for doctor??''
''yeah..i took my medicine'' nupur answered trying to divert her attention from his guilt-striken face..she felt a pang in her heart..it was she who was wrong but mayank was feeling guilty ....she hated herself now
''i am sorry nupur''
mayank looked in her eyes...n within no time , tears swelled up in nupur's eyes..
''please dont cry nupur...i am really sorry..for everythng'' mayank said ..trying to calm her..
''u were not at fault mayank..i am not a good wife'' she said burrying her face in her handz..
''please dont say this'' mayank put his arm around her shoulderz...he was himself choked..n looking nupur i such condition was making it miserable
out of impulse nupur hugged mayank tightly n began to cry..
Mayank was taken aback but then slowly carressed her back as to calm her down
PS : it was not a long part though...but i i tried my best..
