Part 43

She hadn't realized how many hours she had spent reading the diary but it was as if she had relived a part of her life which was completely unknown to her. Kashish's memories hadn't helped Visaal to remember anything but it surely had helped her to look into the right path. There was so much that had become clear then and the most important and alarming thing was that she was already married.

Standing by the window, all she could see outside was a dark black night but soon she saw a thin opening of slightly lighter blue taking over. Dawn had approached and the birds had started chirping calling upon a new day. It surely was a new day indeed and she could feel it was a new beginning.

Sanjeevni

The operation had been successful in saving both Mauli and her baby. Just one hour ago she had given birth to a sweet little boy and Piyush had gushed out a sigh of relief. He had been able to get in contact with Armaan who had come with Riddhima as soon he found out. It was truly a happy moment for them all as a new member had entered their family.

After Rishi, Pratham and Varun had taken Sujal back home; they also got the good news so they made their way to Sanjeevni as well.

Everyone had gathered to meet the little one and Piyush's delightness was unexplainable. He felt out of the world and couldn't have thanked God enough to have blessed him with such a boon, even after he had created so many miscreants.

Soon he entered Mauli's room and then held his son in his arms. He kissed his forehead, then all over his face. Silent tears of joy fell out of his eyes as he continued to stare at the cute bundle wrapped carefully in his arms.

"Why are you crying?" Mauli asked quietly as she saw her very emotional husband.

Piyush smiled through his tears, "I'm totally overwhelmed that's all." He went and rested one of his hands on her forehead. "Today you've given me the best gift Mauli and I'm the happiest man on earth." She also gave him a smile. "Yet I don't deserve this happiness at all." He felt sad.

Mauli sat up a bit and then held his hand. "What are you saying?"

He put the baby down and then sat down beside her. "It's true Mauli. Meree zindagi me to khushiyan aagayi lekin maine mere khud ke bhai ki zindagi se khushiya cheen li." Tears trickled out of his eyes. "If I wouldn't have had meddled with his life one year ago then today he would have been the happiest man of this world." He remembered how to some extent he was responsible for Sujal and Kashish's separation and it tore him apart.

"I can understand Piyush." She comforted him, "but you've totally repented it and then Sujal also forgave you."

"Yes he did but I won't be able to forgive myself until I reunite Sujal with his Kashish." Both of them held each other and she assured him that everything was going to turn out well.

5 hours later

Sujal stirred slowly on his bed as he opened his eyes after the hang over. His head felt terribly heavy and it wasn't only due to the heavy drinking but due to the heavy burden on his heart. The pain hadn't disappeared and he hadn't expected it to either. He lay there going over all his past moments he had spent with Kashish and now it only appeared as a sweet dream that had taken place in one part of his life.

He had given his life up for that one woman and yet in the end he was still left empty handed. There hadn't been one day or night in which he hadn't thought of her but it hadn't taken her one moment to totally discard him from her life. It was too disturbing and he tossed here and there to remove them from his head yet he knew he wasn't going to ever find solace.

Having had become too distressed he sat up and wiped away the sweat from his face. He had made his solid decision as to what he had to do. In fact it was rather the best thing to do if he ever was going to be able to live on further without his beloved by his side.

Sanjeevni

The whole gang had spent celebrating and spending time with the little baby even though it was just born. They all wanted to hold him, play with him and just love him. During that Rishi narrated them the scene that had took place last night with Sujal. They all were upset that he reverted back to drinking which was terrible indeed.

"We've got to do something before he destroys himself again." Piyush looked grim.

"Believe me bhaiya, I'm after that too but the way Big B, has given up truly scares me." Rishi was thoughtful as he just stood with his arms folded.

Armaan wasn't going to let that happen, "we won't let Sujal bhaiya give up like this. Not at all." He was determined to make a difference. "Ab bohat hogaya hain or me chup nahi rehne waala." He stood up as if he was ready to go. "If Kashish bhabhi isn't going to come herself then I'll make her come. She has to come back no matter what."

"You're right Armaan." The voice startled everyone and they turned towards the entrance of the room. Visaal walked in casually towards him. "It is time for your brother to gain everything he has lost and that includes his love." Everyone was baffled. "For that Kashish needs to return but she can't until she is still trapped under Visaal. And for that she needs all of your help." She gave that genuine pleading look towards them which said many things.

All of them exchanged glances with each other wondering what had to be done. Some were just confused and yet were just overwhelmed that positive things had finally sprung out. In the end they were all really glad that she had finally come to terms with her reality and now Sujal was definitely going to get his happiness back. They all talked further where Visaal informed them of how she had booked an appointment with Dr. Singhania who was a well known psychiatrist. With her help she was going to retrieve back the memories of Kashish and hopefully her mental illness would also be removed. It was a long process for sure but they all were ready to go through it, especially Visaal.

Armaan's house

Sujal's friends had come over to tell him the good news but they had no idea how bad news awaited them. They saw Sujal had gotten ready with a packed bag as if he was going somewhere. On their insistence he told them that he was going back to Delhi as nothing was left for him here anymore.

"It's been so long since I've gone back home to my family so I thought It was about time." He continued to sort out his end bits.

However his friends weren't convinced and Varun even wanted to tell him what Visaal said but Pratham prevented him because of Visaal's promise. She had requested that no one told Sujal because she wanted to surprise him herself. Yet they were helpless but if Sujal left then what was the point of everything.

Just then Armaan arrived joyfully, but when he saw Sujal with the bag his face dropped. "Bhaiya where are you going?"

Sujal just grinned, "Jaaraha hu waapis us dunya me jaha pe sab kuch hain, bus meri zindagi nahin." His eyes were very sad.

"Bhaiya me manta hoon aapne zindagee bhar logo ki khushiyo ke bare me socha hain." Armaan put his hand over Sujal's shoulder, "yet that doesn't mean that you totally throw away your happiness in the process."

His brother had always meant good for him and he knew that, but still he needed to get away from the pain. "It is true Armaan that I've loved Kashish more than anything but my love shall never become selfish. I would never force my love on her at all."

It only aggravated Armaan further, "I'm not saying you are selfish or your love is selfish." He held his brother as if that way he could hold him together. "All I'm saying bhaiya is that I know that only you can keep Kashish bhabhi happy so why are you running away from it?"

In return Sujal just sighed and turned away. "Shayad yehi meri kismet me likha hain Armaan." He sniffed, "perhaps that's why till date I didn't succeed in growing my love within Visaal." He folded his arms across his chest. "And if today her wish is to stay away from me then I'll most happily fulfil it for her."

Obviously Varun wasn't pleased at all, "this is ridiculous Sujal. You can't just let her go away from your life. Bhool gaya ke shaadi ki hain tune osse. Biwi hain wo teri."

"Maine shaadi Kashish se ki thi," he turned towards Varun in a whiplash. "Or meri Kashish ek saal pehle mar chuki hain." His eyes were moist. "This is only Visaal and no one else." They tried to argue with him further but he wasn't ready to listen and just told them to leave him alone for a while. They didn't want to aggravate him further so did as he said.

Half an hour later

He still sat with his eyes closed when he felt a soft comforting hand over his shoulder. His eyes popped open because he got startled. Yet when he saw it was Riddhima he relaxed and sat up straight.

"Bhaiya please don't go like this." She sat down opposite him. "I know you know what you're doing but there is still somethings you don't know." Sujal looked towards her confused. "I need to talk to you about Kashish bh..."

He leaned in forward quite distressed, "oh so you also think I've done injustice with her?"

She shook her head, "that's not what I meant. I just..."

Yet he interrupted her again, "Riddhima agar Kashish ki zindagi tabha hone se bachanaa gunaah hain to haan maine yeh gunaah kiya hain." He stood up. "I shall repeat this sin if I have to Riddhima because all I care about is Kashish and the rest of the world could just burn in hell for all I care." He calmed down. "Jitna me Kashish ke kareeb jaata gaya, wo mujhse dhoore hoti gayee. And yet she never told me my fault." Riddhima felt very sad for him. "Only I know Riddhima how I've survived till now. Jis Sujal ne aaj tak kabhi apne usoolo se samjhota nahin kiya, kisee ke saath samjhota nahin kiya ose zindagee ke saath samjhota karne pe majboor kardiya."

All his words ran in her mind and it very well reflected the pain he went through. Then she remembered that Visaal was ready to come back and he couldn't just leave like this but then again she had prevented them all from telling him anything. Yet there stood no basis to stop him.

He collected his bag, "I'm sorry Riddhima but I've got to go and can't stop now." He gave her a loving look, "I hope your's and Armaan's relationship is sorted out very soon and I'm sorry I wasn't able to do much for it." he touched her cheek affectionately with his hand.

"Oski aap chinta mat kijye bhaiya," she smiled. "finally os duffer ko itni akal aahee gayi ke mere dil me oske liye kya hain." At first Sujal was surprised but then both of them ended up laughing like small children.

It was time for him to leave and before going he gave her a sweet brotherly hug and wished for her happiness yet once again. Then he left, away from the city, from the people and from his sorrows.

As he travelled towards a new destination he dwelled in his reverie over what he had lost.

Just before he embarked the flight for Delhi, he looked behind for one last time as if he had the hope that someone he wanted was going to come and stop him.

Not let him go at all. Yet there wasn't anyone and he was urged to board because they were waiting. He wiped away his tears and walked inside.

Sujal was certainly gone but Visaal hadn't stopped her mission to gain back all her memories as Kashish. For two days full on she had been under therapy and Dr. Singhania had helped her gain a lot. It was the use of hypnosis which helped her mostly and many memories had been relived. However there was a lot to still recover before she could have returned to Sujal properly.

On the other hand Piyush had returned back to Delhi with Mauli and his son Rohit. They didn't want to leave Sujal all by himself again but when they had returned they found out that Sujal had gone to Shimla when he got there. Mauli knew very well that he had gone there only to remember his love. She just prayed everyday that Visaal recovered soon and came back to him.

In Shimla he only loitered onto the lonely streets at night to relieve his memories. Yet in each place he could only remember her.

Even after had tried so much he just couldn't stop his tears or throw away her memories. That was going to be his unfortunate life.

Five days had passed and by then Visaal had gained everything she needed. Everything she had done as Kashish had been restored which had been a positive sign because it meant that the multiple personality disorder had also been cured. The way she now was able to handle both personalities very well showed that Visaal and Kashish weren't two but were one.

All the rest were thrilled and when Armaan informed Mauli, she was very much delighted and wanted to personally go to Shimla and tell Sujal everything. However he told her that Visaal told everyone that she would do it herself so it was best they let her do it. The agreement was set but still they all planned to go there in order to look over the show. After all they had been scripting it for long so they were bound to not miss the climax.

Whilst all of them were celebrating, Sujal had become even more souless. He stood at present where he had met Kashish for the very first time in that dark stormy night. It was again a dark stormy night but then it had rained and right now it snowed. It was really cold yet his body had become numb to feel anything let alone the freezing weather.

He didn't know if he imagined it but he found his loving Kashish almost everywhere he looked. She either called him or just smiled at him or simply threw the snow at him. Yet when he turned around every time, she disappeared.

He closed his eyes in order for her torture to end but her voice kept ringing in his ears. He closed his ears but still nothing happened.

When he opened his eyes he saw her right in front of her. The snow flakes that rested on her serene face made her look like an angel and he just couldn't look away. Yet he knew it was just another illusion and he just wanted to be relieved of them. He closed his eyes once again.

But when he opened them again, he found her still there so he stood stunned. Was it real? It couldn't have been because he didn't believe in his fortunate fate any longer.
