Part 2

One intern came rushing down the corridors of Sanjeevni as if he was running to catch a train. He missed many falls and collided with people but that was not of his concern. That time he only wanted to get to the patient as soon as possible. He avoided the lift and just ran down the stairs all the way to the emergency department and then kept rushing through the double glass doors.

"Dr. Armaan where are you going, wait." One of the nurses halted him mid way seeing he was in such a rush.

"Sister I really need to go in there right now." He tried to pass by but the nurse prevented his way again. "Please let me go through."

"Right now an operation is already taking place in the OT so I can't allow you to go in there."

"The man inside is my brother." He slightly raised his voice which made everyone else halt too in the corridor and all wanted to know what was wrong with Armaan. He calmed down and then pleaded to her. "I really need to go in thee right now."

The nurse saw how distraught Armaan looked and his eyes were full of tears. She completely sympathized with him but rules were rules. "I understand Dr. Armaan what must be going on with you but please understand. You being a doctor know the procedures so I request you to please go and wait outside." She saw he was not ready to do so. "Dr. Visaal is currently treating him and you know he is in the hands of the best so please. I'll tell you the details as they come to me."

Finally Armaan agreed and went back outside of the OT to the waiting area. Although he was training to be a doctor and he saw patients in severe conditions day in and day out he always got emotional about he people he cared about. And here was the question of his brother. The brother whom he loved more than anything in this world and would do anything for him. He felt so helpless right then and wished he could also be in there, but he also knew that if he would have been in there he wouldn't have been able treat him at all. He would have become so emotional that his hands would have trembled to even pick up a scalpel. He went and sat down on the chairs terribly worried and upset about what happened. When he got the information of how a trauma patient had been brought in after a severe accident he didn't bother that much but after he heard the name he immediately left everything and rushed over.

He knew that this day would come the rate Sujal was going. It had been months since he had been in this delirious half dead state and it all was because of someone who he loved a lot. Someone who meant the world to him and for someone who no longer existed in his life. Only in his torturous memories. He had never met her but had always heard about her from Sujal as day in and day out he would be only praising her. He couldn't understand how life could be so unfair with someone who didn't deserve it at all. If anyone deserved to be happy was Sujal because he always made others happy.

A soft hand rested on his as he sat there crying. "Armaan please sambhaalo apne aap ko."

"Riddhima you know when I was ten years old I'd become really sick and our parents were no more and Piyush bhaiya had raised us all. Per tab wo bhi nahi the or sirf Sujal bhaiya the. You know he was so worried about me and no one was in the house to help. He took it on himself and called the doctor and he told him I had a severe fever and needed to be treated. At that time we were not that well off so money was a major factor and we didn't have enough to get the medicine. Sujal bhaiya ne apna favourite guitar beich diya or jaake medicines laaye the. Music was his passion and he would do anything to keep his music alive per os waqt onhone mere liye sab kuch de diya." He sniffed, "or aaj onkee jaan bachaane ke liye me kuch nahi karsakta. I'm completely helpless."

She hugged and tried to calm him down, "Don't say that Armaan as its not that way. You're not helpless. You're one person who can change a person's life in a matter of few seconds. Maien dekha hai Armaan kese tum logo kee zindagee me khushiya bhar dete ho or unhe jeene kee waje de dete ho."

"But I can't do anything here Riddhima." He felt disheartened.

She cupped his face in her hands after pulling out, "who said you can't do anything? You can Armaan. Dekh na tumhaara bhai ko kuch nahi hoga or phir tum ose phirse jeena sikhaa doge. Just have faith." She hugged him again and he felt much better.

Inside the OT Dr. Visaal was busy in trying to save Sujal's life as his head wound was quite severe and one of his lungs had been pierced by his ribs so his respiratory system was also in grave danger. It was going to take a lot of work but she knew what she was doing. However, when she had cleaned his face off the blood and seen his face she felt something inside. As if she knew this guy but it was impossible as this was the first time she was looking at him. In order for her to concentrate she needed to forget about him and only think of him as her patient.

Outside Armaan was constantly trying to get hold of Piyush but his phone kept coming busy. He was frustrated that why was he always out of range when he was needed the most. Then he decided to call Mauli and inform her but then he thought that in this condition he didn't want to tense her. Then there was only one person left and he knew that he'll drop everything and come here immediately. He searched his number and called him.

A man was as usual in the club enjoying and drinking and lost completely in the loud music. He could barely hear himself or anybody else as a matter of fact. All his friends were enjoying on his expense and it was a riot. None of them were in their senses anymore and it was getting near to getting them into trouble. He was swooning on two to three girls who by the looks of it looked like hookers. His mobile was ringing in his pocket but the loud deafening music was not allowing him to hear it.

Here Armaan was getting agitated as no one seemed to pick his phone up and it was an emergency. He threw the phone away cursing it.

In the OT, the operation was still going on. Dr.Visaal didn't know why but she felt a bit nervous when she treated his head. Once or twice her hands did tremble and she had to stop. Her associates asked her if she was alright and she curtly replied to them that she was perfectly alright. Before resuming she closed her eyes and breathed for a few seconds and then she continued. What was about this guy, which was making her feel like this? As she examined the wound on his skull she noticed some scars which indicated that in the past he had had an operation on his head. That created a lot of questions for her and it required further investigation.

Hopefully she was able to finish off successfully. "Finish off the stitching and then we've got to take out some more reports." She told Dr. Rahul and then stepped out of the OT wiping off the sweat from her forehead. This one was a tough one as not only was she mentally pressured but physically her body was also giving up on her.

As Visaal stepped out Armaan was waiting for her and he quickly went towards her. "Ma'am what happened? Is my brother alright?"

She took a while to tell him, "I've managed to stop the bleeding but he is still in a very bad condition. I still need more reports to decide."

"But he will be alright?" Armaan was really tensed.

She sighed, "dekho Armaan me tumhe jhootha dilasa nahi dena chahtee. It all depends on how long it takes for him to regain consciousness. If in the next twelve hours he wakes up then we can say he is out of danger otherwise he is..." she felt this choking inside of her throat as if she couldn't say the word. Why was she getting so emotionally involved with this patient. She didn't even know him. She just left from there as it was hard for her to look in Armaan's eyes anymore.

Sujal was shifted to the ICU and Armaan looked at him and his heart pierced. The whole man was transformed from a man to a machine. All these machines were clung onto him since they were helping him breathe. Armaan was finding a hard time finding his brother underneath it all and he broke down again. The last time he had met Sujal was when he had come to meet him here at Sanjeevni for his birthday. Armaan had been really happy that he had come and Sujal had told him that he would forget the whole world but never him. At that time he had seen Sujal's state and it was terrible. He hadn't taken care of himself at all and his drinking had also gone out of control. He had tried to stop him but Sujal manipulated him in his words and just carried on. After that he didn't really have much contact with him and now after four months he met him again and he had never thought it would be in this state. After seeing him in that state on his birthday, Armaan had realized one thing and that was that Sujal had loved her more than anything.

It had been five hours and still nothing had happened or changed. Armaan had tried to call his two brothers but none of them were picking up his phone. His friends were there to support him and Atul took over his shift too so he could be with Sujal. Armaan continuously tried Piyush's phone but it was out of range and Rishi just didn't pick up his phone. It was too frustrating.

Visaal sat in her office in thoughts of why she had been so attached to Sujal. What was about him that she couldn't get him out of her thoughts? This was the first time she had met him so then why? She clung onto her head and sat leaned against the table not able to think.

There was a faint knock on the door and doctor Rahul stepped in. "Dr. Visaal I brought the reports you wanted of Sujal Garewal." He handed Visaal the envelope and Visaal looked up and took it from him. Then Rahul left and she kept thinking before opening it. Perhaps she had met him before and just didn't remember. Then she just opened up the reports and saw that Sujal had been through an operation last year which had created the same results as now. He had had a severe injury on his head and the doctors had considered it a miracle that he survived but his condition was bad. The doctors had warned that if he gets the same injury again then it could become lethal. Visaal immediately got up and rushed over to the ICU as if she had panicked. She had to check on him to make sure he was alright as there was a patch of fear captured inside of her.

When she got in her heart was racing and she had to catch her breath. Everything was still the same and she sighed but felt like crying seeing him in this state. The Dr. Visaal who had never been so emotional was feeling numb and upset. She didn't want him to be in this state and she could almost feel his pain. What was this feeling? Why was she feeling so much for a stranger? Without thinking anymore she stormed out of the room not wanting to look back or remain there for any time longer. It was as if she was getting angry at herself for feeling this way.

6'oclock in the morning

Armaan had fallen asleep on the sofa in the waiting room and Riddhima was on the adjacent sofa. Time had passed and they hadn't realized it. Suddenly Armaan did jerk up and his eyes fell on the clock and he realized it had been over twelve hours. He quickly got up and went inside to see what happened and he found Visaal there with two other nurses. They all seemed tensed and their downcast faces told him a lot which he didn't really want to know. His anxious heart was pumping hard as he waited to hear the news. It couldn't be true. He didn't want it to be true. With a trembling tongue he tried to ask but his voice was giving up on him and the only thing he could muster was, "what happened?"

Visaal turned around and gave him a grave look. "I'm sorry Armaan but your brother has slipped into a coma." That's all she could say and she got up and left followed by the other two nurses.

The news just left Armaan stunned and his brain became numb and nothing made sense. He didn't know how to react. Nothing was coming out or going in and he just went out and sat down on the sofa still in the thoughts. Riddhima woke up and saw him sitting like that and she went up to him with the desperate need to find out what happened. "Armaan? Armaan? Kya huwa?"

"He...he...he is in a coma." He said it in a state of shock and Riddhima was also shocked.

kiran that was a nice part.. sujal in coma.. i'am feeling very sad... anyway the part was very interesting.. i feel bad for armaan.. nobody from his house where there to support him.. but i'am glad his friends were around.. now coming to visaal.. she is a very interesting character... i do have some prediction about her.. if you don't mind i'll pm you my predictions.. anyway keep up the good work going.. & please continue soon.. 😊

oh my god kiran this is deepa here...........u really gav me a heart break...........the way u hav described each and every scene really kept me spell bound........the eomotions were clearly expressed................very emotional part.............sujal already had a similar surgery before but still hes so careless wit his life......destroyin himself..............rishi and piyush r stupid people.......poor armaan is the only person in the hospital and hes emotionally broken............visaal is really a mystery here.......she feels some unknown feelings for sujal......wonder y.............reveal that soon dear............and whos the gal sujal is in love wit???????? and the final shock u gav me is sujal in coma............u hav started the story really wit a tragic part and hope as it progresses it wil be more happy one............cont soon as i cant wait wats gonna happen next................
