Nupur had just arrived in Mumbai from her hometown Morena along with her sister, Gunjan accompanied by their Bauji. Even though Nupur, being elder, was more confident and strong, but today she also like Gunjan felt nervous and uneasy. Both sisters looked around at the Mumbai train station for familiar faces along with their Bauji. Finally there around a corner the girls' Bauji spotted his younger brother. As he pointed his brother out to the girls, a slight smile emerged on their faces. After welcoming and acknowledging each other Bauji left the girls with his younger brother, their Chachaji. Bauji was happy to see that his brother will take care of his children that he dearly loved and he was confident that both girls will make him proud. Bauji had to leave for Canada in order settle some family issues regarding property. The girls cried and bid goodbye with good wishes to their bauji. Seeing Gunjan sad as she was, Nupur came back into her bubblypie attitude to cheer her little sister. She asked Gunjan, " Gunjan do you have enough tears in storage? I am mean I won't like it if you don't cry when I get married". At Nupur's filmy dialogue, Gunjan and Nupur laughed simultaneously. Nupur's chachiji saw his nieces' friendly, vulnerable, innocent, understanding and nave attitude that he wished his own children could have had. Chachiji could sense the extreme sisterly love that both sisters shared. He was grateful to God that he was going to nurture these girls for a while, maybe his own children could learn from Gunjan and Nupur. With this thought Chachaji, drove Nupur and Gunjan to his house and introduced them to Dia and Uday, his children.

Dia remained uninterested meeting both of their cousins as chachaji enthusiastically started the introduction. Dia whispered "down market" to herself when looking at both Nupur and Gunjan's dresses and left the room. Uday seemed to be intrigued by the new company that he will have, because his own sister dominated him all the time. Uday started his daily dodo conversations with his cousins. Nupur and Gunjan looked at each other and smiled at their cousin brother's innocence. Since Nupur didn't want Uday to feel that she and gunjan found him to be a dodo, Nupur's kind character came in to play. Nupur started to intertwine in Uday's conversation and started to support his ideas even though none of them made any sense to her. Nonetheless the two talked and talked while Gunjan listened until Uday showed the girls their room. Uday left. Gunjan and Nupur looked at each other again and Nupur said, "By God Gunjan! Uday bhaiya kitna bolte hain aur kis bare bolte hain pata hi nahi chalta" and she chuckles.

Gunjan says, "Di par aap toh aise baat kar rahi thi, jaise ke aap janti ho ke who kya keh rahe the.

N: "Oh fo gunjan, kisi ko agar aise khushi milti hain toh uske saath baat karne mein kya buriyi hai?" Tu bhi na choti ki choti hi rahegi, by God." And smiles.

Gunjan admired her sister for a while, realizing the fact that how true she was. For Gunjan not only Nupur lightened her mood, but all the people who found them around Nupur. After coming out her thoughts Gunjan says, "Di aap to na bilkul super sweet ki jalebi ki tarah ho, ekdum sweet."

N: "aare wah gunjan! Tu bhi meri tarah jalebi ke dialogues marne lag gayi."

They both smile at each other and starting unpacking. It was dinner time soon and Uday came to invite his cousins downstairs for a family dinner. All of them sat around the dinning table and Nupur began to talk.

N: Chachiji! Wah kya baat hai. Apne to khane ki katar hi laga di. By God, itna acha khana hai ki maa ki yaad' she just realized what she said and quieted down looking at Gunjan. Nupur simled when she realized that Gunjan didn't hear as she was listening to Uday, but Nupur missed her deceased mother.

Chachiji sympathetically looks at Nupur and both give each other an understanding look and Chachiji forwards the conversation with bringing up college.

C: Beta, tum dono Uday aur Dia ke excel college mein kal se jauge. Mumbai ka bahut acha aur reputation wala college hai. Mere se aacha tum dono ko Dia aur Uday baata sakte hai. Aur waise bhi mujhe kuch kaam hai. Isleye tum log baate karo, mein chalta hoon. Good night! Everyone wish him good night. Seeing the opportunity Dia takes control over the dinning table.

D: Sweethearts, welcome to Mumbai. Tum dono ko yeh baata deti hoon ke Dia ka class hai. Aur tum dono mere hi college mein jaugi. Iselye plz apna yeh down market style thora upgrade kar lena. Otherwise sab sochege ki meri cousins kitni bhenji type girls hain...

Uday interrupts Dia in his dodo style, uday calls dia by her pet name Deets and says, Deets waise kya har ek ladki ko tumhare jaise supermodel ki tarah har waqt dress up hone ke bare mein hi sochti rahti hi kya? Dia gives Uday an irritated look and a fake smile to her cousins, bidding good night.

Uday also says good night to his cousins. Nupur and Gunjan go to their room and lay down. They both are nervous, because both are not sure of their day tomorrow in a big city college. Gunjan asks Nupur, "Di sab thik ho ga na kal, mujhe bahut daar lag raha hai." Nupur senses the terror in her sisters voice, but since Nupur is good at hiding her feelings and understanding the other person's. Nupur calmly assures Gunjan that all will be alright because nupur and gunjan bushan are very smart. She says, "After all we all need to try new and different things. Tomorrow will bring about something different as well so sleep my little sis. By God, tu na bahut sochti hai. Sochan chod aur enjoy the moment." Both the sisters fall asleep.

Next morning everything is hectic around the house in Mumbai as all five of the family members are getting ready either for college or work. Everyone comes and greet each other at the door. Dia eyes at her cousins' outfits and murmurs, "down market" again. Nonetheless, both gunjan and nupur with their excited/nervous/happy faces head along with Dia and Uday to the college bidding by to chachaji. Once they reach college, nupur and gunjan go to the registrar's office to obtain their class schedules. Gunjan's class was right next door to the registrar's office so she headed that way. Nupur's class was in another building so she headed in that direction. Nupur couldn't find her classroom or the building that she needed to go to and ended up asking couple of boys. Since the boys knew that nupur was a fresh face. They decided to mess with her and send her to the boys' locker room. Thus the boys gave her directions to the boys' locker room. She arrived at the locker room, unknown to the fact that the boys whom she asked directions followed her. She entered the locker room it seemed empty with many lockers around her and she realized that the boys were messing with her. She turned and saw that the door was locked. She tried opening it and yelled if anyone was there, but no one answered. Nupur became very scared. Unfortunately to her surprise the lights went out. Nupur became very anxious and wondered around the locker room, she heard footsteps in the locker room approaching her. Suddenly her back felt a hand. As she turned she tripped over a pair of shoes on to someone else body. As she collapsed and fell to the ground with another body below her the lights came on. Nupur had her hands grabbing that someone's shoulders tight with her head buried in that someone's chest. She was totally frantic. After a minute nupur raised her head and looked at that someone. Her innocent and slightly watery eyes became more innocent as she looked at that stranger. She was holding on to him as if her life depended on that stranger. His snuggling and protective hold of her shoulder comforted her. His eyes left her mesmerized. She was speechless. She had come across many males before, but this guy was different. He had a sensuous cuteness in his eyes. His eyes were something she was lost in. Soon she became conscious of her surroundings as he said, "kya aap ka mujhe marne ka irada hai?"

She gathers herself up and says, " woh mein' mein woh' yeh kaisa college, koi kissi ke saath aisa mazaak karta hai '" She blabbered on about her incident. The guy sensed her fear and came closer to her and bended until he was able to establish an eye contact with her. She looked into his eyes a little confused but with a calm expression. The guy said "Hi I am Mayank, don't worry, bade bade sehron mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rahati hai." Nupur became so excited, because she loved DDLJ. She said excitedly, "Hi I am nupur, mujhe nahin pata tha ke tum mere jaise tum DDLJ ke fan ho." Mayank became confused with the acronym as to what is DDLJ and so he asked her.

M(confused): yeh DDLJ kya hai?

N(amazed): By God! (Mayank smiles at this phrase) Tum DDLJ ka dialogue bolte ho aur tumhe DDLJ ka matlab nahin maloom (nupur's questioning look)( Mayank nods no to her) arre baba dilwale dulhania le jayenge. Mayank laughs at the reply and she laughs along with him.

M (teasingly): tum toh badi filmi ho, excel mein kya kar rahi ho?

N: kyun excel tumhara hai?

M: nahin lekin tumse ' both were disturbed with a basketball coach's voice.

Coach: Tum dono yahan par kya kar rahe ho?

M: sir, woh yeh nai student hai ise kisne is locker room mein lock kar diya tha aur mane iske awaaz suni toh help karne chala aya.

Coach: thank you mayank sharma. (looking at nupur)what is your name?

N: Sir, Nupur Bushan.

Coach: ummh' mayank tum nupur ko uske class tak chod do nahi toh koi use phir se koi pareshan karega. Tum nupur ke saath rohoge toh woh safe rahegi. Plz now go both of you, mein dehkta hoon unh ladko ko.

Mayank saw coach leave and Mayank directed the way to nupur. However he felt some type of strange a feeling. Something creeping up at him. What was that feeling? He asked himself. Why when nupur crashed into me, did I feel as if I known her forever? She is beautiful, Mayank thought. He brushed his thoughts away instantly because he never thought about a girl like this before. Whatever it was he was feeling a pull towards this girl whom he just met Mayank thought, but why? He ignored his thoughts and led the way.
