"Kaun hai?" Sonia asked still decorating Muskaan like an Indian christmas tree. Will she ever stop!?
"Main hoon Sonia." The voice outside was cool..but actually a little nervous. Muskaan grinned. "Bhaiya andar aa jao na."
Inside came her brother..whom she loved the most in this world. He was dressed in a typical pathani suit.Something like Shahid wore in Nagada? But it was white in colour.
His name was Atul.
"Hi Muskaan!" He said cheerfully.
"Hi bhaiya.." She replied glumly.
Atul gave a confused look. He asked Sonia..she sighed.
Mean-while Radhika came to help. "Your friend Rahul..who else?" Atul cleared his throat.
Muskaan got up from her chair and went stood face-to-face in front of Atul. "Bhaiya apne mummyji-daddyji se baat ki?" She was nervous and anxious.
"Haan..maine ki.." She suddenly became excited. "Par..woh nahin mane." She again became glum.
She went and sat on the chair. "Lagta hai kisi ka mood bahut kharab hai?" Atul said jokingly touching her head.
"Bhaiya aap se na ek kaam dhang se nahin hota hai.." Muskaan replied angrily.
"Muskaan aise nahin kehte..inhone koshish ki na?" Muskaan looked at Sonia. "Inhone?" Was she a televison actress?
"Haan..Muskaan..waise bhi ye mera aur Sonia ka secret plan jo hai." He winked at her. He went and stood next to Sonia and put his arm around her.
"Tumhare jaldi se shaadi karake phir hame bhi to hum shaadi karni hai..Acha hai na plan?" He giggled. Sonia gave him a glare.
Yes. Her very own best friend and her brother were in love. She didnt know since when? She just came to know a month back. She had a big fight with both of them. But everything was fine now.
"Haan..mere shaadi uss idiot duffer se karake aap dono khush raho ache se...." She got up and went and stood next to the window fuming. Inhaling the chilly air and stopping her tears.
Atul walked towards her. "Muskaan..Im sorry..main sirf mazak kar raha tha. Ache ye lo kaan pakde maine?" He was holding both his ears and saying the 'puppy sorry'. Between her tears she started to smile and went and hugged him. "Bhaiya aapko pata hai na..ke mujhe woh pasand nahin hai..phir aap kyun mummyji se kuch nahin kehte?" She asked softly.
"Muskaan mere baat sun..Rahul is a very nice guy..woh aise hi mazak karta hai..par dil ka saaf hai..tujhe usse better koi mil hi nahin sakta"
"Mujhe Rahul se shaadi karni hai ke uske dil se? Rahul se hi na?" She answered back.
"Tujhe dono se sirf engagement karni hai..shaadi ko waqt hai. Aur auntyji ne kya kaha tha..yaad nahin..sagai ke baad tum ghumne jaana..milna baatien karna..ek dusre ko achi tarah se jaana aur phir apna decision batana." Sonia came and answered for Atul. Muskaan was just about to back-answer when.
"Wow Sonia..tum kitni intelligent ho." Atul looked at her dreamily. Radhika Muskaan and Sonia laughed.
"Uh..woh..Sonia..tum mere saath chalo..mjhe tumse kuch baat karni hai." Sonia and Atul walked down.
Radhika made Muskaan again sit down..and started continiung her share of the tree. She again rode of in dreamland. Bhaiya and Sonia loved each other. Love is such a beautiful feeling.
She smiled. But someone caring..sweet..loving..she always wished for a fairy tale prince..who would come on the horse and take her away in to a fantasy world. Away from the hustle-bustle of the cities. But whats
the use of dreaming now..Her parents had already chosen someone for her. There was no choice. Not even one.
Actually Rahul was bhaiya's school-mate. They were in the same class. Both of them were a year older than her. Bhaiya had completed his schooling and straight away had started college for an M.B.B.S degree. Meanwhile Rahul wanted to rest for a year and enjoy. He wasnt studious types. He learnt photgraphy , film-making and animation. He went for a month's vacation and came back and joined college.
Mean-while bhaiya had forced me to be a doctor..and I had readily agreed..because I never said no to him. So there, we were together in college. During sometimes..I had a small crush on Rahul..during school-times.. when bhaiya and he used to come home..for work..whenever I used to see him , my pulse-rate would go zooming. But then I came to know another Rahul. Who was stupid and irriating. Because of such reasons..it took me less than a week to forget him. Ever since then , I hated him. Rahul's dad got both of us admitted in the same college and same class. Life seemed to be hell. All he did was to flirt with every girl he saw. But then one day he became totally the opposite. Bhaiya told me that his girl-friend dumped him. Good for him. I partied that night. Ever since then he had atleast learnt to respect girls. God's grace.

Rahul sat in his room all alone. He wanted to do something. But he was so confused. His mind was blank. Not responding to him. He had changed in to his engagement dress. He was almost ready for his so called engagement. He tried to think about stuff..which were completely useless. He picked up his phone. Muskaan's number was on his speed dial. Yes. Ever since the engagement natak started..they were forced to talk, romance , go out..ect ect. He hesitantly pressed the call button..he heard the rings.
Meanwhile Muskaan and Radhika were in the room. They heard the sound of the phone ringing.
"Main dekhti hoon." Radhika went towards the side-table and picked up Muskaan's phone. Rahul's name flashed. She cleared her throat. "Its Rahul."
"Uhh..oh...gimme." She almost grabbed the phone from Radhika's hand. But she didnt pick it up and stared at Radhika.
"Oh..sorry..Ill..just come..in a few mins." She left through the door.
Muskaan picked up the call still in wonders , on why he had called her. She said a loud hello. Her anger had still not reduced.
"Hi..Muskaan..kya kar rahe ho?"
"Main dance kar rahi hun. Idiot. Kiski ladki ki ek ghante main sagai ho, woh kya kar rahi hogi? Ready ho rahin hun." She replied angrily. She wanted to slam the phone down.
"Leken mujhe to lagaa tumhe to tayar hona bilkul pasand nahin hai..aur woh bhi mere liye?" He chuckled.
She made a face. "Kya karen life main aise din bhi dekhne padte hai." She replied sweetly , but meant in a cunning way.
"Oh..ya right..mere ghar me bhi sirf tumhare hi baatien chal rahe hai..Jaise tum koi Queen Elizabeth ho.." Muskaan was gonna intterupt when.."You know my family is gone absolutely
crazy..Im so irritated."
"I think ye ek baat hai jo hum dono agree karenge...Tumhari family to already pagal thi..unhone mere family ko bhi pagal kar diya hai..Hmph!"
"Mere family pagal hai? Tum hote kaun ho bolne waali..Just shut up!"
"Jahan pe tum jaise log hon..wahan influence to hoga hi na..Dr. Rahul
"Kyun karo main tumse sahi se baat..nahin karungi main baat..kya kar loge tum? Batao?"
"You just waiit and watch Dr. Muskaan..I wont leave you like this..Im gonna..uggh..forget it..bye..nd dont forget..I hate you!" And he slammed the phone down.
"I hate you too!" Even she slammed the phone down.
