Hey guys! thank you for your wonderful, wonderful comments! I will reply to them soon! I don't have nay time right now though...managed to finish a part...so here it is!
Armaan looked at the scans that were on the light-board. He had a small frown on his face as he took in the all the different lobes of the brain presented in the scan.
"Schedule the surgery for tomorrow, we have to get the clots out before the do any further damage" Dr. Keerti said, her eyes roaming over the scans.
"Yes ma'am" Ridhima said who was standing next to Armaan. Armaan briefly looked at her and frowned when she avoided any eye contact with him. He wasn't sure what he had done, all he knew was that Ridhima had been behaving weirdly since the cafeteria incident.
His eyes lit up slightly as a small smile graced his lips. He looked at Ridhima again and saw her scribbling something onto the notepad she was carrying with her.
"Dr. Armaan?" Dr. Keerti said. His head snapped towards her direction and looked at her with an innocent exression, "Yes ma'am?"
"I said, you need to inform Mr. Malhotra of the procedure, get a signed consent and then get the surgery scheduled…you can get back to your duties" Dr. Keerti said, as she took down the scan reports and slipped them into a file.
Armaan nodded and turned on his heel, he went towards the door and held it open for Ridhima. Ridhima glanced at him, and quickly looked away, he wasn't sure, but he thought he saw her jaw tighten when she passed him.
He smirked slightly, and fell into step with her.
"So, basket…how was your afternoon?" Armaan asked, as he chanced a sideways glance at her and saw that she was determinedly looking ahead.
"Fine" She said shortly.
"Really? That's good…mine was great, thanks for asking" Armaan said, rolling his eyes.
Ridhima continued walking ahead, not replying.
Armaan pondered over her behavior…surely she couldn't be…upset over Nikki and his closeness, could she? Armaan shook his head and followed her; he had to find out what was upsetting her…though he did have a nagging feeling that it was something to do with Nikki and him.
A mischievous smile came onto his face and he said, "Don't you have any questions" as they turned another corner.
Ridhima looked at him from the corner of her eye before looking ahead, "about what?" she asked.
"Nikki and I" Armaan replied, and had to bite his lip from letting the triumphant grin appearing on his face as he saw her jaw tighten again.
"No, why should I?" She asked cautiously.
"I don't know" Armaan gave her the non-committed answer. He had told Atul and Anjali everything, however he had also made the promise not to breathe out a word of the plan to anyone, so he wasn't sure if Ridhima was going to get to know of it…he knew he should tell her, but he was having too much fun by letting her be oblivious…plus it wasn't like it was going to harm anyone, in a few days Deepak would leave, and Nikki and him would come clear and everyone would have a nice laugh about it.
There was nothing to fear about, so Armaan decided to have fun of his own, and decided to let Ridhima be oblivious of the plan…it was too much fun looking at her reactions every time he brought Nikki up. But one thing was bothering Armaan, he wasn't sure why he felt a tinge of satisfaction to see Ridhima behaving this way…it almost felt…it almost felt nice.
Ridhima was fuming with anger by the time they had reached Rajeev's room. Armaan was purposely rubbing in the fact that there was something going on between Armaan and Nikki.
She saw Rajeev glance up as both she and Armaan entered and he quickly looked down. She smirked…so the conversation with Armaan was still fresh in his mind…
She stepped sideways and Armaan stepped in front of her holding out a file towards Rajeev.
"We have found some clots in your brain…particularly in your frontal lobe which would need to be assisted to immediately so they can't do any further complications. We would like to operate on you to remove these clots. This is a consent form in which you would be required to sign if you agree to the surgery" Armaan explained.
"As your doctors, we would highly advise you on the surgery, but there are complications that come with the surgery. Your brain is being operated, and therefore complications can be such as blood loss, allergic reaction to the anesthetic for which we would require you to fill out the medical form which asks for any allergies you may have, and some other complications can be strokes or seizures. However this is a very simple surgery, the risks involved are very minimal and a senior doctor will be assisting us" Ridhima explained.
Rajeev nodded and grabbed a pen from Armaan, "alright, I will sign it" He said.
He signed all the documents and returned them to Armaan. Armaan gave him a curt nod and went towards the door and held it open for Ridhima. Ridhima looked at Rajeev curiously. He hadn't caused any trouble…did he actually listen to everything Armaan had said to him?
"Ridhima?"
Ridhima's head snapped towards Armaan's direction and she saw him patiently holding the door open for her. She blushed slightly and quickly slipped out of the room, breathing a sigh of relief when they were out of the room.
"Well, that was easy" Armaan said after a moment. Ridhima looked up to see that even he had a pensive look on his, which meant he found Rajeev's behavior to be odd too.
Ridhima hummed in response and made her way to the General Ward. She had only a few more hours left before she could go home.
Waving goodbye at Armaan, she left for her duties, while Armaan left for his.
Ridhima walked into the General Ward and saw that Nikki was standing next to one of the nurses discussing something. A sudden burst of anger and resentment went towards Nikki. She glanced at Nikki from up to down, and saw that she looked beautiful today, with her bright kurti matching with one of her coloured tights, her hair let loose, and falling below her shoulders.
Ridhima lips pursed and she quickly turned towards her patient. Checking their pulse, she noted everything down, but her thoughts kept wandering towards the sight of Armaan's arm draped around Nikki, his hand resting on her shoulder, whispering in her ear.
She hadn't realized that she had been holding her stethoscope so tight that her knuckles had turned white and her nails were digging into her hand. It was only the pain from her hand that brought her back to her senses and made her continue on with the patients.
What does she have, that I don't have? Ridhima thought furiously, and blinked her eyes quickly to get rid of the tears that had formed. She was getting so frustrated at the reactions she was having. No one had ever brought such a strong reaction from her, then why now? Why did Armaan have to do this? Why?
She looked up again and saw Nikki smiling at the nurse, she caught Ridhima's eye and gave her a huge smile, waving at her. Immediate guilt washed over Ridhima…her eyes widened slightly as she realized just how out of control she had gotten a few seconds ago…she was starting to compare herself to a friend of hers!
Ridhima smiled tentatively and waved back. She saw Nikki go out of the General Ward, and turn the corner, getting out of sight. She immediately cast her head down and worked on the next patient
Stop it. She told herself, stop behaving like this.
Armaan leant sideways and draped his arm around her, he leant his head forward and smiled, whispering something into her ear, causing Nikki to tilt her head back and give out a sweet laugh. Armaan's eyes followed her head, a smile on his face, his eyes twinkling.
Ridhima snapped out of her thoughts and she looked at her mobile, which was buzzing in her purse. She sighed, and reached out and took the phone out. Flipping it open, she saw the text message by Nikki
Hey Girls! Shopping tomorrow after duties for the new year's party. Remember it's a masquerade party!
-Nikki

Ridhima sighed once more and looked out. It was quite astounding how many times she had sighed and frowned today.
The auto pulled up in front of her house, she silently got out, handed over the money and walked over to her house.
Slipping into her room, Ridhima changed out of her clothes, and slipped into her night clothes.
Switching off the bedside lamp, Ridhima snuggled into her quilt and let sleep beckon her, deciding she was going to face tomorrow as it came…today had been tiring enough, she didn't have the energy to figure out what tomorrow was going to be like.
I seriously cannot believe what Karan Singh Grover has done to his wife...I was actually feeling so down while writing this part..I don't even know how I managed to...I have always thought of KSG to be like Armaan..which is why writing this part was very difficult, I almost decided to stop writing because I couldn't brinng myself to write anything about AR anymore...I really hope this part is up to everyone's expectations
