hey guys... i am orry but i wont be able to update for some time now... i got lot of exams ,submissions and family funcitons coming up.....
i am sorry to leave it at suach a hanging point.. but maybe scnd week of next month , i'll try but i cant promise...

Now....this is the 2nd week of december officially !!

ok i am back now..let just write a 2-3 more pages and the part is then complete...will post it tonight or tommorrow..

CHAPTER 29

PART !

Waking up…. and Sleeping

**Earlier in the evening b4 Kashish had made her escape… **

Sujal entered K's office with Sid and immediately got held back.

You just don't enter the state coroner's office without permission. But luckily they found Jake there who argued with his senior and helped them gain access to k's office.

J –ok guys. This is all I can do. Please.. Be out in 10 mins or my boss will have my neck. If you need me I am in my office.

Sujal –thanks Jake, let us know if you hear anything from Kashish .

Sb4 they could enter Sujal held Sam back and asked him to give a detail description of each and everything in the room. Starting from the position of the door mat to the chair in which Kashish sat. He didn't wanna disturb anything and anything out of line was a clue. If only he could see… Sid was trying but he wasn't a professional, his eyes were trained to see what Sujal would have seen the minute they entered the room.

Slowly they moved in and Sid told Sujal about her desk and drawers and moved on to papers. It seemed as if everything was in perfect order.

S – So there is no disarray nothing spilt , torn or unexpected here?

Sid –nothing that I can see. Everything is ship shape. Just how a proper working desk should be. There is no sign of anything having gone wrong here.

S – is there something burned here? In the waste basket? I smelled ash when I entered but I am not so sure now.

Sid –no it's empty… but wait…(Sid reached down and carefully checked the basket again) there are bits of black ash like thing under the table…

S – Hmmm… what file is on top of her desk and drawer…

Sid – ah… ii don't think we should touch her papers.. Oh well.. Who would know… on her desk well they are just documents like inventory of bodies I think and in the drawer…. There is the case file of a Mr. reddy…

S –Mr. reddy 45 yr old? That case is being fought by Piyush… why would she have it? Let's go.. Nothing more here…

Just as they were leaving the building an old man came up to them and greeted them, apparently he claimed to one of k's friends..

Old man –she asked me for some reports on some eye treatment… I am sorry I didn't prove helpful.. Guess she just got frustrated and burned it. Anyways if you meet her b4 me tell her that I got some other similar things lined up and I would give her a report on them if she still wants it.

S –I am sure she would.. Perhaps they got burned by accident.. Why don't you send a copy of that and other op. to her home.. It's really not a part of her office work and she might get in trouble if any1 sees them

Old man- I see what you mean. I would do that. Goodbye.

Sid –what was that all about? What op reports?

S – I don't know.. But then I don't know everything that Kashish does.. One thing is certain that report may be very imp if she wasn't the one who burned it and Kashish is in big trouble. She never keeps paper lying on her desk and she would never again under any circumstances take piyush's case.. Something is dam wrong. And maybe Piyush can tell us why his case papers are there…

Although Sam wanted to rush to rin and tell her ht they had just found out he had make himself stop. What had Sujal said it might be one of us… it might even be kaveri… No! I cannot believe it. No one had been so helping and supporting than her about everything since the day she came to our house, she never even complained when none of us helped her with any work…. I have to face it… it just can't be my brother's wife…..

Sam knocked on rin's door and entered…

Rin –SAM!!!!

Rin….

Rin –what are you doing HERE???!!!!! Didn't I tell you all tog o away? Why? Why do you want me to die?

Sam –calm down rin. You know I don't want that. I just came to check if you were all right. Also I had to sign permission for Nancy to stay with nick.

Rin –u needn't have come and why Nancy? Why not sanskriti?

Sam –since you got threatened … we didn't want to take chances. are you ok?

Rin –yah. Now go.

Sam –Is this how you talk to your husband? Rin I really do car ea about u, but recently we have learned certain things and I had to came and tell you.

Rin –what did you learn? Do you know who is it? Can you stop this madness? Tell me!!!!

Sam moved near rin and looked at her with love.. Kaveri would never hurt even a fly…. And regret….. Rin never acted nice with anyone….

Sam –it depends on you rin… if you tell me how you're planning to kill us all after feigning to be the hurt party.. I might be able to stop this madness….

Rin –Sam!! What are you sayi-

Unable to hear anymore lest his resolve be broken. Sam put his fingers around his wife's throat and tightened his hold. It killed him to do this but he had to. Perhaps he will kill himself too….

Am looked painfully as rin fluttered useless trying to loosen his grip her breathing hitched and her face turning bluish white. Just a few seconds more and then it all would be over…

####CRASH####

Sam felt a sudden pain on his head and collapsed instantly.

Kaveri stepped over Sam's motionless body with a dark face, holding metal metal rod in her hand.

Kaveri –u ok rin?

Rin unable to speak, gasped for air and slowly nodded her head.

Kaveri –good. Sorry I am late. As soon as I saw him walking in I knew he was up to no good. What do you think we should do with him?

Rin –I n…never.. Sam!!! Totally unexpected…… we have to restrain him for one.

Kaveri immediately got to work. Checking Sam's wound, making sure they weren't too deep, not that she cared that much right now, she tied him with bits of clothing.

Rin drinking water now and securing the knots.." we can't keep him tied up in here. Every1 will see… there inst even a cupboard when you need it!"

Kaveri –why don't we pop him the hood of his own car?

Rin hi-fived kaveri no1 would ever think of checking there…

Kashish was crying, no she was bawling. Her knee hurt so baaaaaad. Why did the stupid rock have to come and make her trip, now her scraped knees burned like anything. Kashish slowly controlled her tears and tried to brush her knee which only increased the pain.. Finally leaving her knees alone Kashish looked around and started crying in frustration and fear. Now not only was she hurt AND lost, it was a lot dark. Not that she would ever admit to her brothers that she was afraid of dark, but it was scary to be out here in the scarce woods all alone by herself.

Kashish got up and started walking in the direction which she believed would lead her back to the park, crying and shouting for the help at the same time.

"H..Hic……ELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!MMMMoooMMMMYYYYYY"

"NICCCCKKKKKKK I am going to kill u!!!!!!COME ON STOP scaring me now!!! I wanna g home…<crying once more after remember her home> mommy I miss you."

So absorbed she was that she didn't hear the search voice which was calling her name… until the person finally caught up with her.

"Kashish!!!"

"Huh??!!! …wwwwwwwhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa", Kashish look around and seeing a familiar person finally started bawling again.

"Hushhhh..shuuuu.. It's ok.. now.. Stop crying… its ok princess.. Come here.. Everything is ok stop crying.. Please."

Kashish leapt into the extended arms, instantly feeling secure and stared at the face through tears, Sujal looked worried, relived and a little pained. Through her tears Kashish managed to ask if he was hurt too. But Sujal just shook his head and smiled kindly at her. Then he sat her down and washed her knee using his water bottle.

"U feeling better now?"

Kashish nodded and managed a weak smile. No matter how much of an idiot her brother was atleast he had nice friends.

"Ok then let's go home princess?"

Kashish nodded then slipped her hand inside Sujal's and started walking starting her incessant chatter as soon her throat cleared up and her courage returned. She told him how in the park her brother had duped her to go hiding when she was bothering him to play with her, she hid near the woods and waited for her brother to come find her. After sometime she got bored and wandered, then lost, then hurt.

It was a long walk back and after a while Kashish grew tired and told Sujal to rest but he didn't listen, "its dark now and late too, we should not delay. We should get back as soon as we can."

"But I can't walk anymore!!!" Kashish sat down on road to emphasis her point and the pointed to her knees , "coz I am hurt, not coz I am a sissy as my brother calls me". Sujal looked at her as if trying hard to control something then bend down to her level.

"Ok, then since you can't walk.. How about a piggy back ride back? Hope not below your dignity princess?"

"Yay!!!! Piggy back ride!!!"

Kashish climbed on Sujal's back and clasped her hands and legs tightly around his neck and waist…

"Sujal?"

"Hmm?"

"Why are you always so nice to me? You are even letting me ride all the way home…"

"Well if not real, still I am kinda like your brother right?"

"I guess since you are home so often"

"Hmmm…. So then if I am taking care of you I am only doing what brothers do.."

"What? Not coz I am a princess"

"Of course that too" and then they both laughed at their private joke as people in the park saw a 15 yr old boy carrying a 6 yr old girl on his back…

Kashish felt water on her face and looked up.. There was no rain and the water wasn't rain drops either…

"KASHISH!!!KASHISH!!!! WAKE UP!!!"

Kashish brushed away the feelings bringing her back to reality… she wanted to sink back into her dream where Sujal would come and find her if no one else comes… she knew he would. All she had to do now was patiently wait, why wake up and go through useless torture and agony.

"Good God Kashish please wake up!!"

"Go away…" Kashish mumbled sleepily

"No!!! Wake up c'mon!!! If you sleep like this the drug would take longer to wear off."

"Uh…. Wha…? Who…?", finally coming out of her sleep Kashish realized that she was back in that house of horrors with that evil Piyush as the landlord. "JAKE!! Is that u? What are you doing here? No wait! I got away from Piyush, then.. I … what happened here?"

"I was so shocked to see you running like that and the way you were looking and then you passed out and I was just… stunned.. I saw Piyush coming saying he would help and b4 I knew what was happing he stunned with stun gun and well.. Here we are.. Thank goodness you woke up I was so afraid.."

"How long have we been out? Damn you shouted, now he would come back and start slapping"

"No one's slapping you as long as you are with me. I don't think he is coming back soon seems like he had upset some1 real bad. U've been missing a whole day. Now it's 2 nights and 1 day I guess.."

"Jake we have to get out.. We have to find who is doing this.. Ordering that .. that.."

"It's ok we will. Don't worry. We'll figure something out soon, now come here and let me see where all have you been hurt."

Piyush brushed aside the chill that ran down his spine, sure enough the lady was dangerous but only by remaining conspicuous… she couldn't personally hurt him face to face… nah… he is getting worried uselessly….

Piyush entered a dark room in which only the entrance the eliminated by the moon light and that was where he was supposed to stand, in plain sight

Female voice(fv) –so you are here finally. Is it true that the girl escaped and now you have to lock Jake with her too?

P –how did you know?!

Piyush heard a grunt of disapproval and hurried with his ans. This was one person he didn't want disapproval of.

P –just when I called u… she somehow managed to free the knots and ran. She met Jake so now I had to lock both of them.

Fv –pffffffft…..she fooled you moron!!! Now did you hit her on the head? I told just to sedate her….

P –she was creaming madly what if some1 heard!!! I had put some fear into her I-

Fv –seems like it gave her more courage than fear… and you compromised your identity… but I am in a good mood another brother is down… so tell me did you hit her much?

P –huh?! Another! Ah… ok .. Good.. Ummmm no, I didn't , I just slapped her, a couple of times, that's all.

Fv(into the ph) –yes. Tell me…….. Hm……… hm… yes…….. No he didn't, he did?........... Uh… that's too bad…… yes you stay put I'll send over some1, more capable…… you didn't have to worry about him, make sure she is fine.

Fv –Mr. Piyush…. I think I very specifically told you not to hurt Kashish Sinha physically at all. Didn't I?

P – Ummm … ah… yah… but c'mon a few slaps-

Fv –can be forgiven with min punishment, but u…. scared her back apparently….. You had a strong urge to see her bare back hmm? Or was it just the prelude to what you did do to her when she was unconscious? Tell me? Did you enjoy yourself with her?

Piyush sensed the sudden danger and although he knew she was harmless, he slowly backed towards the door. He had to get out, quick.

P –WH-What? Are you talking about? Me… rape her?... NO! Of course not.. You told me no hurt her.. She must have hit herself while trying to escape-

Fv –and perhaps some drunk took advantage of her while she was running? And don't try the door it's locked dear… you know that girl is precious to me. She was not supposed to get even scratched.

P –of course you told me that b4, how can I defy u? I know it's a life sentence to rape and molest a woman, I am a lawyer, and I wouldn't-

Fv – ah! Yes, that's right you are a lawyer…. Do you know I don't particularly like lawyers? But wait there is some1 else who hates them too. you should meet her, I am sure she would want to say something to you when she learns what you did.(Pressed a button on her ph.) come in dear, meet our lawyer friend.

Piyush turned around towards the door. His plan well formed, as soon as this person comes he would charge her and get the hell out of here.

Fv –oh don't bother planning Mr. Lawyer she is coming through from here.

(Another female voice, young) –Hello Piyush

When Piyush turned around he was shocked to see whom he saw and stared at the object in her hand.

2^nd fv –well I am here to say jut 3 words to u, coz I hate lawyers…. 'Good Bye M#*&@*($@&'

#BANG# and that was the last noise which Piyush heard.

Nancy squirmed uncomfortably in her chair holding tight to her walking aid. Visitor's hr had been long over and that phony nurse hadn't returned. Sam had got her the permission to stay and now she was too anxious to sit still.

Perhaps I had been too overconfident in myself may I should I call some1 for help… who am I kidding? Its middle of night, they won't allow any here. If only I hadn't been so overconfident.

Nancy got up decided to pace the room and immediately bumped against nick's bed "Damn it!".. She lost her balance and grouped around for hold before she fell. Her hand got hold of some tubes and stand, still unable to balance herself she fell sharply on the sleeping form of her student's friend.

#groaning noise#

Oh GOOD he woke up!!!!!! Nancy tried to sit up, only managing to punch nick stomach with her elbow, some liquid had fallen on the floor and she had slipped again.

"Uuuurrrrggghh…..oooowwwww"

"NICK!!!!!!!! U're awake!!!"

Ashoke decided to take a detour home... although Sujal had told them all to stick to a plan… perhaps if he wud see tht nick is ok he wudnt feel so awful. He had already lost his daughters whereabouts… anything more than that was too heartbreaking.

Ashoke Sinha got out of his car in the hospital parking but never made it to the hospital entrance; the sight which he saw held him as a frozen statue.

Sujal was frustrated and irritated, they had waited at the prosecution office for last 3 hr till closing time and still they couldn't get hold of Piyush. He wouldn't pick up his call and Sid who just came back from his place said that he had been out since the morning and hadn't returned. Now Sujal was pretty sure that Piyush had Kashish, he had no evidence but he had a solid gut feeling and he was going to follow it. What were the secluded places that he could take her to? Not his home… no… it would be the first place we would check and she would want Kashish safe... huh!! As if abducting her is a way of keeping her safe… safe…. Safe from us finding her… safe from any1 finding her… a place to hide people to keep them safe… a safe house….

A SAFEHOUSE!!!!!!!! Of course!!!

S –Sid bhai get me judge Callahan on line he owes me a favor.

Sid –Sujal why do u want a judge? This isn't a court matter...

S –I know… I want him to give me a list a of city's witness protection safe house's, coz that's where Kashish is!!!
