Hello,
I know i am terrible. I am so sorry!!! But I had an awful week. The USB-stick I used to store my stories in got damaged. Now I lost all of them plus all the new updates so I had to work on new updates, and that is why this part will s*ck big time! Ankahee will take a bit longer now because of that. And because I am also not supposed to use the computer. Something wrong with my eye, but I couldnt let you wait any longer and let Jai be a bad guy so who cares.😉

part 9
Jai drove away in his car. He turned to his house for a while. Bani needed clothes. She would be spending the night in the hospital until the doctor would allow her to go home. He looked at the busy streets and people on the pavements while he drove past them, A few years ago he had walked on these same pavements and he was happy. He had a brother, an aunt and girlfriend who loved him. In turn Jai did everything he could do for them. She got married, he thought according to her parents' wishes. They had every right to marry their daughter to the person they thought fit of marrying her. What hurt him the most was that they didn't judge his personality, nor his love for their daughter. They checked the amount of money he had in his pocket. The next six years he had spend on showing to unknown people that he wasn't less then any other person. He left Mumbai without a penny, heartbroken after his brother and his girlfriend left him. He ate when he felt hungry, slept whenever and whenever he felt the need to until he realized what he was doing. Starting as the peon of a real estate agent he climbed his way up and got the chance to go abroad. He didn't look back after that. From junior assistant, to assistant, to dealing in real estate himself. After making more money than everyone had ever imagined he came back transferring the business he had set up to India, when Mausi insisted that he would come back. His money, which he send every time to Mausi, didn't make her feel less lonely. After all she had also lost her nephew when Nachiket died and she was constantly worrying about Jai.
Jai came back after 5 and a half years. It was by chance that he met Pia again in Delhi. He went there for a bidding. It turned out that her husband was organizing the event. At first she felt uncomfortable. Jai explained that he did not hold any grudges against her. She was free to do as she wanted and as the days passed they got into a comfortable routine. Jai never told her that he was still in love with her but he never denied or hid it. A few days later their conversation took a different turn when Pia revealed that her husband was neglecting her. As a friend, and probably as the person who loved her, Jai wanted her to succeed in this marriage. He tried to reason to her why Pratham didn't have as much as time for her as Pia would like. Pratham was running a blooming company which was expanding by the day. He had a mother and a father, and brothers and sisters to take care off and it was natural that he wouldn't have a lot of time. Even though it would hurt him when he saw Pia return to her home, to her husband, he accepted it with a smile. The sh*t hit the roof when a day later Pia confessed that Pratham had raised his hand on her on several occasions. Seeing the woman he loved crying and hurt like that wrenched his gut. Pia just managed to control him and push Jai back in his seat before he would go to her house and attack her husband. Jai wasn't just angry and despised Pratham, her parents were not far behind in his opinion. The feelings he held against Mr. and Mrs. Dixit, which had fizzled down with time, stirred up again. They married off their daughter, their flesh and blood, by just looking at the amount of money someone had in their pocket while Jai stilled loved her as much as he did before and could never think of hurting her. Jai left Delhi soon but his mind and heart stayed back there. He frequently called Pia to see how she was doing and to be sure she was still safe.
The relationship he had with Pia was probably the first time that he didn't think about his family and what they were going to think about this. Over the week he didn't contact Pia. The next week Jai stood in the temple, waiting for her, calling her until midnight. He got a message around the same time from her. I am not leaving my husband, forget me.
Jai was angry. At her family and her husband in the first place for coming in between them, and also at her for never standing at his side when he needed her. The guilt he felt for not informing his family infused with shame for the relationship he shared with Pia, which would go against his aunt's believes, made his anger rise. He wanted Pia back in his life where he knew she would be safe...... By whatever means.

Jai stopped in front of his house. The sound of laughter met him outside. Bani's parents were sitting with his family on the sofa. He looked at them but for the first time he held back his challenging look and averted his eyes. Looking at the floor he said 'I am sorry....about before. She needed rest aur....'
Mr Dixit stood up. 'Oh no its perfectly alright. He chuckled. We were pretty hectic and dramatic over there.
Jai nodded and walked to his room.
Jai was about to turn around and walk out of the room and ask for his sister's help when he noticed two suitcases placed next to the cupboard. They were Bani's. He did not own bright blue suitcases. Jai placed them on the ground. It wasn't locked so he lifted the top part of the suitcase. A lot of books lay at the bottom. Notebooks, pencils and papers with notes in piles were stashed in one corner. Jai closed the suitcase and opened the other one. It contained her neatly folded clothes. Jai took some things out of it, whatever he thought would be necessary although Jai did not have a clue what Bani would need. In a pouch he found some makeup items but he only took a toothbrush and a hairbrush.
In a corner he saw a small box made of silver, glistering like it was new. Slightly smiling he took it in his hand. It was his mother's. She kept her sindoor in this box which she got as a wedding present from Jai's father. It meant a lot to her and kept it out of her childrens' reach so it wouldn't break or get lost. Now it was in Bani's suitcase, safely tucked in a corner, in between clothes. Carefully Jai placed it back. He closed the suitcase and put it back in its original place. Picking the bag he had packed off the floor, Jai walked out of the room and out of the house to drive to the hospital.
Entering the room he found Bani sleeping. At least that is what Jai thought. He dropped the bag next to a chair and sat down. For some reason he couldn't carry his own weight and he leaned against the armrest of the chair. It was silent for a while and Jai didn't notice the soft ruffling of the sheets. Bani was surprised to see her husband in the chair. She had not expected him here, all alone and that too like this. Was he tired?
'Are you all right?' She asked him.
Jai looked up. He was visibly distraught.
'Hmm??' Was the only thing he said when he looked up.
'Yeah.....I'll be right back.'
Jai scooted out of the room and looked around him. He turned to the left in a quick pace. The pace turned into a sprint soon. Jai opened the door to the men's room with force and locked it behind him. Numbed he walked to the furthest corner. He had lost everything. Everything that he could call his own. The moments he had spent with the women he loved. His love, his faith turned out to be baseless. His parents' values, the trust his aunt held in him, he had shamed them all. Jai dropped himself on the floor. His legs bent in front of him he rested his head against his knees. His fingers turned to his hair, gripping it at first and then he started hitting his head. Wrecking sobs followed soon. He had lost everything.
