THE TRAITOR

After an hour or so, Sonia stirred as slowly she recovered from the after effects of the drug. The vision was still blurring and she felt as if someone had splashed something in her eyes. The last thing she had remembered was how she had worked on seducing R2 and then the rest was blank as if it had been erased from her memory.

With weak eyes she searched the whole room and then sat up holding onto her head. She felt worn out as if she had gone through excessive exercise. What had happened and where was R2?

"I'm sure this will make you feel better." Rajveer handed her a glass of water. A lot had been revealed and he somehow had begun to understand her a bit. She was the vamp but somewhere deep down she was just like any other woman.

Right then it was hard for Sonia to digest his kind gesture. In her field no one did anything without any motive so it was difficult to actually believe he cared for her. "What are you doing?" She then looked down upon her semi nude appearance and then back at him. Had she succeeded in seducing him? Then why couldn't she remember.

He persisted. "Take it because I'm sure you'll need it." After she took it he went and sat on the arm chair next to the traditional four poster bed. "You know Sonia, I'd always misread you." He leaned back. "You surely have shown me only how much money means everything to you yet in reality there is something else of value for you."

There was a sudden realization and she paused. Since she couldn't remember anything then there were tons of possibilities and it was scary. "What do you mean?"

His tall figure leaned in upon her as if he wanted to scare her further. "You thought you could keep your real self from me." On purpose he showed affection and cupped her cheek with his hand. "But now I know everything. I know the real Sonia beneath this protective shell."

For some reason she didn't mind his closeness. The kindness he showed even after what she had done really touched her. Then again, trust was a very difficult trait to be gained in that profession. Whatever truths she had revealed she knew it was far less than the truth she held against him. "If you think you can scare me or lure me into your buttered talks then think again." She got off the bed and wrapped herself into a housecoat. "Don't forget I hold the most sacred thing of yours to expose you anytime."

Rajveer stood up calmly as if her threats didn't bother him at all. "You don't need to fear me at all Sonia because I'm on your side now." He stood erect confidently without a display of any sort of deceit. "I know how what you've wanted is respect and love and I guarantee that you will get it. For that you need to trust me and help me."

A short chuckle passed through her foul mouth. "After what you did you expect me to trust you?" She clapped in order to mock him. "Fantastic! I know who you really are and what you're capable of so why don't you just shut the bullshit." She almost spat more to her disgust.

It was far difficult than he had thought but he knew he would find her right buttons. "Ok then how do you think Major Bharghav would react when he finds out how his precious doll is involved in betraying him?"

Whatever Rajveer was up to she had begun to understand. Perhaps she had revealed a lot but still she wasn't prepared to just go along with him. "You don't know anything but I do and I can right now finish your game." She searched around desperately for her phone which she had hidden in one of the flower pots discretely. Then with haste she searched around for that bomb but to her misfortune she found the folder empty. She looked over and over again but it was nowhere and her fear grew slowly. "You think by just deleting that video will solve your problems then you're a big fool."

He sat down onto the edge of the heavy bed and crossed his arms against his tight chest. "Actually you've been fooled from the beginning. You've clearly missed the point of how you've been used as bait for almost everything. Think about it." He stood up and paced around her. "First you were used as bait to catch R2 in your trap and to manipulate him enough to join the gang and become your slave." He moved around on purpose to hypnotize her. "Then you were used as bait by your so called lover who expects you to s**t around with another man just to get rewards." He stopped as if he remembered something. "Let me correct that. He gets the rewards, whilst you get nothing but his bitter insults and disrespect."

Whatever he said was true and she knew it. For the first time someone had tried to understand her and maybe he wasn't that bad after all. "You've got all the information from me, so why would you want my help?"

"I have got some information but what I don't have is the identity." He went and sat down again onto the arm chair. "I want you to tell me who you're working for and what is this plan that Major Bharghav and Major Nair are planning against each other?"

In return she gave him the disbelief look. "Even if I told you, how I can trust you?" then something struck in his words. "Wait a minute, how do you know that Major Bharghav and Major Nair are plotting against each other?"

The room remained quiet with the random squeaks of the chair he sat on. He had to be calculative with his words in order to entirely take her under his spell. Of course he knew he couldn't blindly trust her at all but after a long time he had the upper hand and he was going to succeed. "You told me yourself."

"I don't believe you." She shook her head and waited for a better explanation.

The squeaks continued to an irritating beat as he slightly shifted around onto the chair. Her drained coloured face confirmed how much she was afraid yet desperately tried to fight herself out of it. "Of course you do." He stood up. "We both know you've never been the brains in any of the operations so why don't you stop trying." He reached towards her, almost to an intimate distance. "If you'll help me I'll make sure you get everything you desired. I'm doing all this even when I've got everything you held against me."

A long chain of thoughts ran through her brain as she tried to convince herself that Rajveer was actually on her side. Perhaps he wasn't that bad and could help her get out of the mess. "What do you want to know?"

Rajveer's face lit up with a satisfactory smile. First he went and picked up her dress to make her more decent and comfortable. Then he made her sit and tell him the whole scam that went on.

Definitely his chivalry shook her to some extent. She quickly dressed herself and then sat comfortably but before she could begin they were interrupted by a knock. She shuddered as an unusual panic gradually took over. "You lied to me."

He managed to understand what lines she went on and calmly grinned. "Don't worry, it is totally harmless." He stood in order to open the door but immediately stood in his tracks as he was held on gun point. Something he hadn't anticipated.

"You think I'm that stupid." She aimed at him correctly but slightly shook with anxiety. Anything was possible and she knew he couldn't be trusted at all. "Open the door and send away whoever it is."

At first he didn't even know she would have had a gun and now that she had, it wasn't a wise thing. He tried to come close but she barked back and made sure he kept distance. "Look it is only room service as I ordered dinner."

She didn't believe him. "Just shut up and do as I say." With her gun still pointed towards him she forced him to move along. Of course she remained at a good distance from him to make sure he didn't try any tricks.

Once he had even tried to lure her, but she resisted, and had mimed him with the gun to do as she said. With a big sigh he walked towards the room door and then only half opened it.

It was hidden from her as to what went on and she hated it. She knew he was up to something and on purpose had tried to fool her so she walked up with haste to intercept whatever evil deed in place yet soon stood where she was.

With a pleasant smile, Rajveer stood in front with a trolley full of food. "You see, I told you it was only dinner which I had ordered." He slowly moved the trolley towards where she stood to give her proof. "After all that's what I'd promised and I'm a man of my words." Then he moved the trolley towards the sofas to have a comfortable space.

Even though it was next to impossible to believe him, his continuous kind gestures eventually made her drop all her defenses. The gun was lowered and dropped onto the nearby side table and she trotted over to the sofas and sat down, with still a glitch of hesitation.

He professionally served some things onto a plate and offered it to her. "The deal is pretty simple Sonia." After she held it he leaned back. "I give you what you want and in exchange you give me everything I want."

For the next few minutes the room remained silent with the odd clicks of the forks hitting the plate every time a morsel was taken. She had been famished and the food was delicious. No matter how much she was trained to hate the man in front of her, a gradual foundation of attraction had been laid out already. Perhaps he was the key to her success after all.

Henceforth began her narration as he comfortably sat back and listened with a good ear. She told him how there was an organization called the Black Knights and they operated within the system but hidden. Rio was a part of that organization where he was trained particularly to remove whatever threats came in between their mission. In other words he was an assassin.

Rajveer already knew all that information. What he wanted to know was the identity of Rio. However he let her continue as perhaps there was something which he hadn't been told yet.

Indeed there was a lot. She took out a cigarette and lit it and sat back comfortably. All of a sudden she had felt she was in her own comfort zone. "This all has been happening all around you yet you believed you had everyone tricked." He raised an eyebrow. "Yes you heard right. From the beginning this organization has known your each and every move. They also know who you really are."

It definitely increased his curiosity, even though he had figured out about many spies. "I'm sure they do." He folded his arms across his tight chest. "Now tell me what the big plan is."

She let out a short chuckle. "You really think it is that simple." The cigarette touched softly onto her dark pink lips which had been clad with lipstick. Then slowly she blew out the smoke. "At first they only observed you but after your curious activities they knew that you can't be trusted. That was the reason for why the shootings began."

The right direction was being shown and he felt some satisfaction that he would finally get the information. "Why are they after Naina?"

Sonia blew more smoke as she eyed him as if she still was hesitant in revealing everything. "Why do you think?" She put the cigarette out in the ashtray on the table and stood up. "She is the biggest link in the whole operation." She paced around in front of him. "If she is thrown out of the way then automatically you'll run after her so the path would be cleared."

He frowned and the lines cleared appeared on his forehead. "Then why is there an attempt on me?" Everything looked simple yet he knew she didn't clearly state anything. "I understand the strategy of keeping me occupied by going after Naina but without me how will they succeed in retrieving the triggers?" She gave him a curt smile by which he realized something. "Unless of course that isn't their plan at all."

"You are as smart as ever." She sat down on his lap which took him by surprise. "I'm sure you would want to know more but there would be a price for it." She wrapped her arms around him.

Of course he hardly appreciated and moved her hands off him. "I don't think you're in any position to bargain with me. If I want I can arrest you right here and you'll be forced to tell everything by the methods I use." He tried to push her off him but her stubborn body refused to nudge.

That reaction was expected from him, yet she couldn't help it being the wh**e she was. "All I want is one last kiss." Her lustful eyes tried to seduce him like before. "I want to feel that passion that Naina enjoys so much and I know I won't get that in my whole life."

Rajveer thought over what she said and then that sultry look told him something else. Perhaps she was equally as desperate as he was. Many times in the past he had consorted with women just to get his work done so a lousy little kiss wasn't going to hurt. He was left with less choice. Gradually he pulled her closer and briefly touched her lips and let loose.

However she was disappointed. "Come on captain, you just appeared like an amateur teenager. I'm sure you can do better than that." She wrapped her arms around his neck once again to become more comfortable. "I know you want to know the identity of Rio and I'm ready to give it to you, but first I want this." She tapped his lower lip with her lone finger.

Once again he pulled her closer and that time he prolonged the kiss for a few more minutes and hoped it satisfied her enough as he wasn't going to do it again. He very well knew how much he had betrayed Naina every time he was with someone else, even if it was strictly business.

As she pulled out she absorbed his essence. "I certainly envy Naina." She got off him as if she had lost a big battle. "Now I guess we better head to Goa in order to get all of your answers." She laughed again like a wicked witch. "Just to let you know, the chief knows that there are no triggers in Goa because there is no proper base there. But he wants to see what new game you're playing so then he could intervene and reap its benefits."

By then Rajveer had figured out that the chief was very smart and maybe smarter than him. Yet he wasn't going to give up and already his inner operation had taken place. Definitely Goa was going to be the place where everything was going to come out in the open. He knew that the chief had his eyes on him so it was of great advantage to him. Then again he couldn't just blindly trust Sonia that she would tell him the full truth but for the instance he had to take his chances. Goa was his trap and he was sure all the prey would be caught.

The journey to Goa

Since the six cadets had been officially permitted to accompany the mission to Goa, they all had set out in the bus. Finally their extended fake mission at Delhi was over and then they embarked another fake one according to the officials. They had their mission of course and were prepared to put an end to it finally.

It had days since Naina had seen Rajveer. The last time she had seen him was at the party and then he had disappeared. When she had seen him that morning still clung to the bitch Sonia she just had changed her mind that it was better she hadn't seen him at all.

Even though the charade was over between Rajveer and Sonia, he still had to keep up appearances to make sure none of the spies found out. Then again he was R2 who had to fool around.

Still there had been no contact with Colonel Shakti which had worried him too much. Something was wrong, he could feel it. It was the very reason for why he had alerted all his secret eyes and ears about the situation and all were busy in locating the colonel's whereabouts.

All throughout the bus journey Naina had dwelled how betrayal had been written in her life from the beginning. Almost all the people she had cared for or loved had left her alone but it hadn't made her weak but stronger.

"I know what you're going through Naina." Alekh as usual was able to read her body language. "But you know that I'll always be there for you."

As always she appreciated his companionship. She leaned her head on his shoulder and smiled to have a brother like friend. Many obstacles were about to come and many she was unaware of but she was ready to face everything. She was going to finally end it and was going to get her brother the justice he deserved.

Similarly Rajveer went through the same chain of thoughts during the sixteen hour long drive. He knew it was going to be very long being away from Naina but if they wanted their mission to succeed they had to maintain the distance. Sonia had told him a half baked truth and very soon he had to take it all out of her. To begin with he had to identify Rio, even though he already had his doubts but confirmation was necessary in order to catch out the traitor.

Long time no see of captain ... 😊 glad to have him back ...
Hope Goa trip not only brings in answers to his questions ...but along with gives him chance to have quality "WE" time with his wife ...fun & frolicking on Goan beaches 😛 😆 😆 ...

Woww... After such a long time.. I really missed reading this one.. I don't know when will we get another update for this one but I am so glad that you are not leaving the stories incomplete... That really requires some devotion... So hats off to you for continuing always..
