Part 35
Rajveer wondered why she brought him here in this holy place. He stared at her how she folded her hands in front of the deity and with closed eyes did a prayer. He also followed suite and prayed. He prayed for her happiness and to give him strength to always keep her happy no matter what circumstances.
She prayed for Rajveer's well being and to give her strength to always stand by him and to keep him happy all the time.
After they finished both stared at each other.
Naina: Raj aaj me tumhe yaha laayee hu kyu ke me jaanti hu isse better jaga nahi hosakti tumse yeh maangne ke liye. Kyu ke me jaanti hu yaha tum mana nahi karpaaoge
Rajveer: Naina tum kya kehna chahrahee ho?
Naina: Aaj me tumse kuch maangna chahti hu Raj, mujhe donge na?
Rajveer: (folded arms across his chest) tum maanke to dekho, mera sab kuch tumhaara hee hai to haq hai tumhaara.
Naina: Me sirf ek hee cheez maangna chahti hu or wo hai tumhaara ghussa (he gave her the surprised look) Ha Raj me chahti hu ke tum aaj mujhse waada karo inke saamne (directed towards the idol) waado karo ke aaj ke baad tum kabhi bhi ghussa nahi karoge. Kabhi bhi kisee ke saath haatha pai nahi karoge. Donge mujhe yeh?
Rajveer kept thinking about it and wondered what to say. He couldn't believe that she loved him so much to care so much about him. She knew what anger did to him so she wanted to save him.
Naina: (put her hand out in front of him) donge mujhe ke nahi?
Rajveer: (after a while he put his hand on her head)
Me aaj tumse waada karta hu Naina ke abse me kabhi bhi ghussa nahi karunga. Kabhi bhi kisee se jhagra nahi karunga. Nahi karunga. Or agar karunga to wo meri zindagee ka aakhri din hoga
She hugged him really happy with him agreeing with her and giving her the boon she requested. Now she knew that he was going to be safe.
Next day
The bus had been repaired so all of them started packing their bags to return back to Mumbai. They had had so much fun in the past few days that now leaving was hard. Especially for Rajveer and Naina. He knew that once they returned back then again they would be separated for a week before he got to see her again.
Naina: Raj me jaantee hu ke tum udaas ho per sirf ek hafte kee hee to baat hai, phir to me hamesha ke liye tumhaare hee paas rehne waalee hu.
Rajveer: tum ek hafte kee baat karahee ho, yaha pe tumse ek pal bhi juda rehna dushwaar hai
Naina: (laughed and held him) itnee deewaangee theek nahi. (separated) ab chalo mujhe yeh packing khatam karne do or me jaantee hu ke tumhaaree bhi karnee hogi mujhe.
He prevented her from doing anything and fooled around with her but she pushed him away with a lot of struggle and continued packing.
Then all of them were ready to leave and all settled in the bus. On the journey back they just cherished the last moments they had with each other.
When they returned back they first stopped at the Ahluwalia's residence and Navin, Ritu, Neelu and Naina dropped off. Eveyone got out to see them off and Rajveer held onto Naina's hand until they reached the door. He didn't want to let go and she didn't want him to let go. It was only for a week but still they knew it was going to feel like ages.
Rajveer met her parents and they asked for forgiveness again but he said that they don't need to do that and he was at fault. Then everything was resolved between them and finally he returned back home.
Shekhawat's palace
He found a site which he hadn't expected. The whole house was bustling with people busy in decorating it. Rajveer kept staring at the preparations and he was glad. He just couldn't wait till the big day came. Then he met Gehlot who was happy to find his children back. He hugged Rajveer and felt bad for how he had behaved with him two days ago. Rajveer told him that he was right in his place and he had nothing against him anymore. He just loved his dad too much. He hugged him once again.
Then as he went further inside, he got one more surprise. There were all these people who were decorating but there was one who got his attention the most.
Rajveer: dekho sab kuch barabar karna
Worker: ha sahabji
Rajveer: agar koi garbar ki to phir aadhe paise kaat dunga
Worker: (stepped down and bent down holding Rajveer's legs) nahi sahabji aisa mat karna. Mere biwi bacche bhook se marjaaenge. Meree mehnat ka yeh phal mat dena mujhe. Please sahabji aisa mat karna. Please…
Rajveer: (laughed) abhe saale nautanki, over acting mat kar
Worker: (stood up) overacting? Abhe mujhse better actor tujhe kahi nahi milega
Rajveer: jaanta hu isiliye to har baar nautanki hee karta rehta hai
Worker: kya yaar itne arse ke baad tujhse mila hu or tu hai ke…gale bhi nahi milega mujhse
Rajveer: tu nahi sudhrega (pulled him into an embrace) Varun ke bacche.
(both of them hugged with joy and Rajveer was glad to meet his cousin after sometime. He lived in Delhi. Aswell as being brothers they were also very close friends) kesa hai tu yaar?
Varun: jesa chore ke gaya tha wesa hee hu
Rajveer: (both separated then Rajveer looked up at what Varun was doing) accha bata yeh sab tu kyu karaha hai?
Varun: kyu ke teree shaadi hai or osme sab kuch me hee karunga
Rajveer: (put his arm around his shoulder) ha per yeh sab tujhe karne kee koi zaroorat nahi
Varun: (also put his arm around Rajveer's shoulder) zaroorat or na zaroorat ki baat mat kar mujhse. Mere bhai kee shaadi koi aisee wesee nahi hai. Puree dunya ko dikhaana hai ke shaadi ho to aisee
Rajveer: (grinned) itna pyaar karta hai mujhse?
Varun: of course! Osme koi shaq nahi hai
Rajveer: wese chacha, chachi kaha hai?
Varun: yahi hai.
Rajveer went with Varun to meet them and was pleased. They were also pleased to meet him after so much time and now he was going to get married. It was a great festive moment. Many other relatives also arrived in the next two- three days filling the whole house with noise, laughter and excitement. The wedding preparations were on an uproar. As much as Rajveer appreciated them all coming for his wedding one thing he hated the most was all his girl cousins constantly teasing him about Naina. He didn't get one moment of peace where he was left alone. The most distressing thing had been that he hadn't spoken to Naina yet. He was upset.
Ahluwalia's residence
A similar situation occurred here too with the whole house busy with people rushing here and there getting things ready. Half of the people were busy in decorating and half were busy organizing. Naina's extended family had also arrived annoying her. She didn't like all the elders constantly teasing her about Rajveer and felt terribly embarrassed each time. Whenever she sat down thinking she had the chance to call him, one or two of her cousins would turn up and disturb her or tease her. Many times they ran away with her phone and made her run around the whole house after them. She needed to talk to him as it tore her apart. It had been too long and the distance didn't please her.
A car arrived outside the house and from it stepped out a young woman. She had worn a short black sequined dress revealing her long sleek bare legs. As she made her way inside the main gates the watchguard just kept staring as if he hadn't seen anyone like her. She paid less attention and kept walking inside.
Inside Naina was busy trying to get her own space and others were having fun making her life hell. If she escaped the elders then got stuck with the pack of her irritating cousins. There wasn't one place in the house where she could be alone. Many times she thought of going to Neelu's house but she knew she wont be allowed to leave the house as it was her wedding in three days.
The young woman outside the house had passed through the garden now and had reached the main door. Many passer bys had stopped what they had been doing just to stare at her and her beauty. She opened the doors and entered inside to be invited by a lot of crowd and noise.
Naina sat in the hall discussing with her mother about her wedding dress and then the preparations for the other functions taking place from tomorrow.
Young woman: hello all you beautiful people
All of them stopped what they were doing and glanced over at the newcomer. Naina stood up with excitement and ran towards her.
Naina: Oh my God Shaina aakhir me aahee gayee tu (went and hugged her squealing with joy)
Shaina: Of course, meree best friend ki shaadi hai or me na aao (hands on hips) ho hee nahi sakta
Naina: (hugged her again) thanks for coming. (looked at her from head to toe) sach me London ne to meree dost ko puree tarha badal diya hai
Shaina: Yeh whatever, wese tum bhi kaafi theek thaak lagne lagi ho
Naina: (shook her head and grinned) abhi bhi sudhri nahi. (checked over her shoulder) uncle, aunty kaha hai?
Shaina: wo shaam ki flight se aarahe hai
Naina: theek hai tu jaake aaraam kar or baad me milte hai
Shaina: ha. Oh God all this heat and dust has ruined my skin. (took two to three steps and stumbled on her heels) Ouch! (Naina looked at her with concern) These shoes I tell you (then she walked off with Naina who showed her room)
On the way Navin passed by and she stopped him.
Shaina: (flirtatiously) Hi Navin
Navin: (absent mindedly as was involved in transferring the basket full of flowers) ha hi. (just then he stumbled and the flowers poured out of the basket. Shaina kneeled down to help him pick them up.as she did Navin finally saw who it was and his eyes nearly popped out of the sockets) tum…tum kab aayee?
Shaina: (slowly picked up the flowers on purpose teasing him) Kyu, intezaar karahe the mera (hit one of the flowers on his cheek)
Navin: (nervously) uh…ummm wo me…
Shaina: (laughed) Come on Navin tum to chote bacche kee tarha gabraa rahe ho (all the flowers were back in the basket and they stood up)
Navin: Nahi wo bus tum…I mean tumhe itne….ummm I saw you after some time so…ummm you look…
Shaina: (looked down) are ek phool rehgaya (she bent down to get it and her short dress slightly rised up and Navin was out of his wits of what he saw)
Navin: hoooooo (exclaimed)
Shaina: (stood up again oblivious of what happened) Kya huwa? You scared me. (pushed her long hair back and shook her shoulders)
Navin: I scared (disappointed) you are the one who scared me. I mean yeh kese kapre pehne hai tumne
Shaina: (came closer to him) tumhe pasand nahi to kaho to utaar du
Navin: (he went red with embarrassment and had to leave) you know mujhe bohat kaam hai…uhhh I'll see you later
Shaina: (she held onto him before he left) Sure (came closer and spoke near his ear) and I must say you've become a delicious handsome hunk yourself (laughed and walked away from there)
Navin stood there still staring after her and then he shook his head. He couldn't believe what he was doing. He felt really uncomfortable and hoped he wouldn't run into her again.
Ritu: (hands on hips) ehem…ehem…
Navin: Are Ritu tum?
Ritu: yeh kya horaha tha yaha?
Navin: kya? (then gave a short laugh) are wo to bus aise hee
Ritu: acha? (wasn't convinced) bara maza aaraha tha na
Navin: Oh come on Ritu wo to bus…Shaina kee to aadat hai aise mazaak karne kee or tum bhi na
Ritu: Jaanti hu kitna mazaak kartee hai (disappointed look) ab chalo neeche sab intezaar karahe hai
Next day
Rajveer stepped out of his room and saw the place full of veils of flowers and festive lights and ribbons and draped cloths. The whole house had transformed and it brought a smile on his face. Everyone were there for him, everyone but one. The one person whom he had missed all his life and today when it was going to be the biggest day of his life that person was not present. He tried to push back the tears behind his eyes but they fought their way through and poured out. He missed his mother and wished she had been there with him and had not left him at all.
Then he heard Sameera organizing many things and giving out orders to people. She was so much in form that he felt lucky to have a sister like her. Then all of a sudden his concentration took him to imagine his mother in her place doing the exact same thing. A content smile came on his face to find her taking care of everything as it was her son's wedding. Just like he had always wanted. Soon she turned towards him and gave him a sweet motherly smile. He also retaliated with a smile and a wave.
Sameera: Hey brother! Hello (snapped her fingers in front of him)
He came back to reality and saw his mother had disappeared and Sameera was standing calling him constantly.
Sameera: I've been calling you for so long, kaha khoye huwe ho?
Rajveer: kuch nahi wo bus…
Sameera: aap ki tabiyat kuch theek nahi lagrahee, are you alright?
Rajveer: I'm fine bus halka sa sir dard hai
Sameera: (worried) Brother aap jaake aaraam kijye kyu ke wese bhi aapko kuch nahi karna hai
He left from there back to his room still quite upset. His heart felt heavy and he needed to talk with somebody. Just then his cell rang as if God heard his prayers.
Rajveer: hello?
Naina: Dhoore rehne kee baat kuch seriously hee le lee. Lagta hai bhool hee gaye mujhe
Rajveer: Naina tum yeh…aisa nahi hai wo to me…I mean I'm sorry wo…
Naina: (laughed) are me to mazaak karahee thi baba. Itne serious kyu hogaye tum
Rajveer: (upset) aisa nahi hai wo…(doesn't know how to tell her) kuch nahi
Naina: (concerned) Kya huwa Raj, itne upset kyu sound karahe ho? Kahi phirse kissee ne kuch kehto nahi diya
Rajveer: (tried to dismiss it) aisa kuch nahi hai Naina bus mere sir me dard hai aaj
Naina: Samajh gayee (sighed) to janaab ko koi baat khaaye jaarahee hai or wo mujhe phone pe to bataenge nahi
Rajveer: (smiled) ab to tum hi ho jo mujhe mujhse ziada jaantee ho. Me milna chahta hu tumse
Naina: Raj teen din ke baad hamaree shaadi hai. Milna to dhoore itnee mushkil se tumhe phone bhi kiya hai aaj. (checked over her shoulder to see if anyone was coming) mera to ghar se bahaar jaana bhi band hai
Rajveer: To me to waha aasakta hu na. itne saare log honge ghar me to kisee ko pata nahi chalega
Naina: Are you mad? (panicked) Dekho Raj agar is baar maa ya baba ko yeh pata chalgayee to tum hamaree shaadi ko bye bye kehdena
Rajveer: Ab tak hamne itna kuch kiya or bach hee gaye na. I don't care me tumse milne aane waala hu and that's final
Naina: uffo tumse argue karna bekaar hai (heard some bustling outside her door) acha suno koi aaraha hai to me rakh rahee hu. Baad me phone karungi. I love you.
Rajveer: I love you too.
After she cut the phone someone stood by the door and whistled
Shaina: kisko itna pyaar dikhaarahee hai madam?
Naina: Ab tu bhi shuru mat hojaana dusro ki tarha. (put her phone away) wese bhi I'm tired of them being on my back ke oski photo dikhao na oski photo dikhao na. I mean kal sab ose dekhenge hee na.
Shaina: Wese photo to me bhi dekhna chahtee hu
Naina: not you too (slapped her forehead)
Shaina: I mean itna kuch suna oske baare me to dekhe to zara kesa hai. Come on Naina batao na
Naina: jaantee hu peecha nahi choregi (she fished through her drawer and took out a picture) yeh le
With excitement Shaina rushed over to her and grabbed the photo out of her hands. Then exclaimed when she saw Rajveer and just completely drooled over him.
Shaina: haaaaaaai kitna khoobsurat hai. Kaash yeh pehle mujhe milgaya hota
Naina: ab dekh liya na (became possessive and wanted it back) la de mujhe waapis
Shaina: ab haath aaya hai (mischiviously) itnee aasaanee se thori na dungee
She took the photo and ran out of the room. Naina couldn't believe she did that and chased after her to get it back. Shaina had the intentions of taking it and showing to everyone who had died to see him for days. They had given her the task to go and convince Naina as they knew she would be able to do it. Shaina excitedly began calling everyone to show them the picture whilst Naina desperately ran after her to snatch it back. It created a riot and many things got scattered around. The elders kept scolding the young ones to stop it and take care but they all were too hyper to listen to anything. Naina tried her best to get the photo back before Shaina showed it to anyone and eventually she managed it. She pulled the picture out of her hands which made Shaina loose balance and she collided with someone and landed on the floor.
Shaina: andhe ho kya? (straightened her clothes and massaged where it hurt) Dikhai nahi deta?
It was Varun who had collided with her and he just kept staring at her. She was the most amazing girl he had ever met and was completely bowled by her beauty.
Shaina: (didn't appreciate the way he stared at her) Aise kya ghoore rahe ho, khoobsurat larki dekhi nahi kabhi?
Varun: (hypnotized) dekhee hai but not this sexy
She scrounged her face with annoyance and stood up. She knew how to handle him.
Shaina: acha? Kabhi nahi milee
Varun: (still lost in her) nahi milee.
Shaina: To thore paas aake kaho na
He did as she required and came closer to her not thinking anything else. She took opportunity of his state.
Shaina: (held onto his collar) follow me
She took him with her and he followed like a lamb. He waited to see what she would do with him and then they stopped. He still didn't know what was happening around them and kept smiling at her and she also gave him an exaggerated smile.
Shaina: (whispered in his ear) or paas aao na (he obeyed her and moved forward) Or paas (he moved further) Or… (she kept luring him and he followed and then all of a sudden his foot didn't reach the land and there was a loud splash)
He had ended up in the pond in the garden which brought him back to his senses.
Shaina: I'm sure ab tumhaara nasha utar gaya hoga. (she clicked on her heals and walked off)
Varun just kept staring at her with awe. She surely had strung some strings in his heart and he definitely wanted to know her more. She was beautiful and smart too. Perfect package. He just sighed and laid back on the water not bothering about it being dirty or occupied by frogs and other creatures. He was just too lost to notice.
Naina: (saw what she did) kya Shaina aise hee kisee ke mooh laggayee
Shaina: Excuse me (showing some attitude) me kisee ke mooh nahi lagi balke wo mere mooh laga hai.
Naina: (looked over her shoulder over to Varun climbing out of the pond) ise kahi dekha hai maine (tries to remember then it struck) are Shaina yeh to Raj ka cousin hai. Osne mujhe bataya tha ke kuch kaamse aane walaa hai or tune osee ke saath batameezee karlee
Shaina: whatever! (began to walk off) you know I just hate these men
Naina: (followed her) Yeah right. Mere bhaiya ke saath to openly flirt kartee hai or phir yeh jata tee hai ke you hate men
Shaina: wo to maza aata hai isliye, per these men I tell you none of them are my type
Naina: to tere type ka kese or kab aaega
Shaina: You never know kahi se or kabhi bhi tapak sakta hai
Varun: (from behind) excuse me
Shaina: Tum? Waapis aagaye Shaina ko disturb karne (showed off)
Varun: kya karu aapka peecha chore hee nahi sakta. Ab to lagta hai jeevan bhar saath rehna parega
Shaina: oh really (gave him the sarcastic look as if she was thinking something) phir to tum mere liye kuch bhi karoge na (pretended to sweet talk) Darling
Varun: (out of words) of course
Shaina: sach me kuch bhi?
Varun: bole ke to dekho
Shaina: (thought about it and then smirked) good. (she saw an over weight female servant going by so she stopped her) are Sundri rukh (she stopped) jaanti hai yeh mujhe kehrahe the ke tu onhe kitna pasand hai (Varun was flabbergasted and wanted to refuse) or yeh tujhe baahar bhi lejaana chahte hai
Sundri: (really excited) sacchi!
Shaina: Have fun (waved him as she walked away with Naina laughing)
Varun was stuck as Sundri leeched onto him and he ran from there saving his life. He made the decision that he sure was going to teach Shaina a lesson and make her his no matter what. He kept running around until he reached his car and raced out of there.
