Chapter 10: Meet the Family

Recap: Riddhima agrees to pretend to be Armaan's wife, she meets Padma and Divya.

Padma: anyways beta…..tum kafi thakk gayi hogi…jao ja ker fresh ho jao…(holds her chin)…jao Armaan..take her to your room….

Riddhima: haan…mai kafi thakk gaya hoon…(flexing her shoulder muscles)

Divya and Padma look at her, then at each other and then laugh. Armaan puts a hand through his hair.

Riddhima: (looks around, confused) what…?? Ap log hans kyun rahi ho?? (speaking in broken Hindi)

Armaan: Mom..D…stop it guys…ussay hindi nahi ati…(glaring at them)

Divya: so…sorry Riddhima….(controls her laughter) par tum ghalat hindi bolte huay itni cute lagti ho ke….sorry haan…(laughs again)

Riddhima frowns, but then smiles.

Riddhima: no its okay….i think, ap logo ke saath reh ker, thora thora seekh jaungi….

Padma: haan…dekhna…kuch hi dinnon main tumhari hindi bohat achi ho jayegi…acha ab jao, rest ker lo…phir shaam ko pooja hai na…

Riddhima nods, and Armaan starts walking towards the stairs, followed by Riddhima.

Riddhima: dude….you are filthy rich…I never knew that!!! (putting her arms through his)

Armaan looks down at her and smiles

Armaan: come on..you so knew that…

Riddhima: no I didn't!!! I knew you were well-off…but this rich…I mean, look at this house man…its frikking hugee…!!

Armaan laughs…they both start walking up, talking to each other, laughing…as Padma and Divya look at their retreating backs and then at each other.

Divya: larki burri nahi hai, haina Ma??

Padma: burri nahi…bohat achi hai…shayed Armaan ne waqai mai sahee faisla lia hai….(smiles)

In Armaan's room. Armaan opens the door to his room and Riddhima steps in.

Armaan: and this is MY room…(closing the door behind him)

Riddhima looks around and smiles, nodding appreciatively.

Riddhima: niiicceee…I like it..>!!! So ummm…(turns around) where's my room?? (innocently)

Armaan looks at her confused.

Armaan: what do you mean??

Riddhima: I mean…this is your room…where's mine?? Where am I gonna stay?? (plopping down on the bed)

Armaan; Ragz….THIS is your room….

Riddhima: Huh?? But….(thinks and then understands) YOU MEAN WE WILL HAVE TO SHARE THE SAME ROOM??? (stands on the bed and shouts)

Armaan at once rushes to the bed, puts an arm around her waist and pulls her down, holding her, and puts the other hand on her mouth.

Armaan: sssssssssshhh!! Don't shout…koi sun lega…phir unhain hum per shak ho jayega…idiot…

Riddhima struggles to get free from his hold.

Riddhima: ok fine sorry….(looks around, then whispers) okayyy..fine…we just have to share a room…no big deal…

Armaan: yeah…no big deal…so chill!!

Riddhima: yeah…obviously of course…we are pretending to be married so yeah, we will have to share the room…but…umm….would you mind sleeping on the sofa then??

Armaan looks at her, then grins sheepishly.

Armaan: ummm…I think that wouldn't be possible…..(gritting his teeth)

Riddhima: why??

Armaan: cuz…ummm…there isn't any sofa in this room!!

Riddhima looks around and gulps. Sure enough, there wasn't. It was a guy's room, there were cushions and bunk bags, but not any sofa in there.

Riddhima: Oh well then….(looks at the bed and realizes something) OMG!!! (starts shouting again) WE WILL SLEEP ON THE SAME BED!!!

Armaan : SSSSSSSSSSSHHHH!!! (puts a hand on her mouth again, his other hand holding the back of her head) AHISTAAA!! Kitni baar kahun, koi sun lega…

Riddhima: oooppss…sorry….okayy…(breathes heavily) well….fine…..its just that, this bit, it's a little unexpected and I was just…a bit surprised…

Armaan smiles at her and coming closer, takes hold of her hand.

Armaan: I know Ragz…I am so sorry you have to go through all this….i promise I will help you out in every way possible…

Riddhima nods and smiles. Just then someone knocks the door and enters. Its none other than Aravh.

Aravh: Chachu who Mama…(stops talking as he sees Riddhima) yeh kaun hai??

Armaan and Riddhima look at each other and laugh. Riddhima sits down on her knees and puts her hand forward. If there was something she loved, it was children. Aravh raised his eyebrows at Armaan, who nodded at him. Aravh walked over to Riddhima, who took hold of him around his waist.

Riddhima: hmmm…well…I am Riddhima…aur ap??

Aravh: (puts his hand forward) I am Aravh…

Riddhima: hi Aravh…its so good to meet you finally…your Chachu keeps talking about you…(looks up at Armaan)

Armaan is touched and a tad surprised to find Riddhima so communicative and good with kids. He had only ever seen her with one kid before.

Aravh: hmmm…par ap ho kaun??

Riddhima bites her lips…she looks at Armaan for a question…he mouths 'CHACHI" for her…and she nods.

Riddhima: main…well….lets just say…main apki nayi chachii hun…(looks up at Armaan to see whether she said it right, he smiles and nods)

Aravh: CHACHI?? Ap?? Iska matlab hai ap ne aur chachu ne shadi ker li hai?? (looks at her and then at Armaan)

They both nod. Aravh is shocked but then he smiles.

Aravh: wow!!! Meri koi chachi nahi hai….main apko apne sab doston se milwaunga…..(claps his hands in excitement)

Riddhima laughs at him

Riddhima: yeah sure…..Apke Armaan Chachu aur mai, donon milengi…okay??

Aravh is a bit surprised at her poor Hindi, but ignores it. After all, he was pathetic at Hindi himself. Just then Aditi walks in.

Aditi: Bhaiya…Bhabhi…ye Aravh ne apko bata dia??(breathing heavily)

Riddhima stands up and looks curiously at her

Riddhima: kia bata dia…and why are you breathing so heavily??

Armaan: is everything alright??

Aditi: well ummm…(gulps) not exactly!!! Da-jee is here….

Armaan's eyes widen at her statement. He looks in shock and horror at her.

Armaan: Do not TELL me…!!!

Aditi: yea….and well…he wants to meet you…and Bhabhi…(her eyes flicker over to Riddhima)…NOW!!!

Saying that, she skirts Aravh out of the room. Armaan is standing there in utmost shock and disbelief.

Riddhima: Armaan…is something wrong?? Whose here?? I hope there isn't anything more that could cause trouble….(putting a hand on his shoulder)

Armaan turns to look at her

Armaan: Ragz….if you call whatever happened till now trouble, then lets get down for the real meaning for it…(taking hold of her arm and steering her towards the bathroom)

Riddhima: what do you mean…?? Hey wait….where are you taking me??

Armaan: something wicked this way comes….here we go….

Riddhima looks at Armaan in surprise. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HIM???

Okay...thats it for today!! SORRY again for such a late update. And thanks a lot for putting up with me. I had to update asap, and i did. Well, thanks everyone who was there and swarmed me with pms and comments...you guys are so understanding. I now apologise for the small part i wrote today. I know, it wasnt upto the mark and stuff...but thats the bst i could come up with right now. I know its hard to believe me when i keep breaking my promises, but i PROMISE across my heart that next update WILL be on tuesday. Anyways...Thanks again!! Hope u dont hate this part as much as i did. hehe.
