I am very disappointed with this Fame Gurukul.
The reasons are following:

1) As eveybody has mentioned, it is not as electrifying as Indion Idol. At least, in Indian Idol we could hear those guys sing. In FG, we have to look at a 'Big Brother' kind of program till the end of the week.

2) The contestents are not promising. This is how TV channels plays. They want to make a mix of good and bad contestents to induce some thrill. As was Ravinder Ravi in Indian Idol. He was very besuraa, but publlic voted for him because of his financial background.

In FG, only 4 ppl are worth noticing. Rooprekha, Mona, Shamit and Arijit. Other all are timepass.

3) QAZI : This guy was taken clearly out of context in the show, (like ravinder ravi). He can't sing. I don't care if he can dance or act. What the public is thinking? This is a musical program, and those who can't sing should be voted out.

4) Unnecessary hype : I repeat. This is a singing programme. What the hell is the health instructor and the psychologist needed? Even the contestents are made to sing the songs which are peppy, and don't let the inside singer come out in colors.

Why would anybody sing a song like 'Goli Maro', and 'Yaroo! sun lo jara' in a singing competition.

Please don't take me wrong. I just feel, that the program should concentrate more on singing. Even I am looking forward for the finals of this program.

Cheers

I have to agree that only Shamit, Arijit and Rooprekha r worth noticing, but even they are as forgettable as the others.

Indian Idols contestants were much better, since the FG voting system doesnt really allow as much involvement as II.

As for Qazi, he does belong in the bottom three, but doesnt deserve to be blasted by the judges and teachers (teachers who, themselves, seem unimpressive ).

For once some one like Symb has written something of real substance.

He is absolutely right in his observations. However, FG represents current state of affairs in India. People seldom use their brains and often go by their heart. Our movies, serials, film stars and politicians take full advantage of this weakness and exploit it to the maximum.

Singers like Qazi are disgrace in FG but again people go by looks rather than by singing talent.

Hello,

I do agree with symbionn observation regarding FG that Fame Gurukul is not as popular as Indian idol.

Only three contestants looks promising which includes shamit, arijit and rooprekha. But I think rooprekha is going on the footstep of rahul vaidya, n I fear she cud end the way rahul vaidya ended in Indian idol.

As for qazi , I think third seat is reserved for him, our Indian public are voting for him as they used to vote for ravinder ravi.

The best part of fame Gurukul is tht, the faculty members take major decision and remaining contestants, which is good in a sense, no another Rahul saxena will b out in the initial stages.

N moreover they are not as rude as Indian idol judges were.

Comments are always welcome!!

A concerted effort!

A rap artist, a guitar, two telly wannabes, a jazzy stage…does not maketh a concert! No? Read on.

The stage for 'KYPH': waiting for the stars

Sony's show, Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai, seems to be trying out everything to get its house in order, before the blitzkrieg called KBC II hits on 5 August. The latest gimmick is an hour long concert to promote its in-house rock stars, Angad and his girl, Kripa.

Angad's popularity has soared since the day the character was launched with such fanfare on the channel. Recently, a leading news channel not only profiled a day in his life back home in Kashmir, but also went overboard with promos during regular news bulletins. So much for non-fiction programming on television!

Anyway, coming back to the concert, it was a straight six hour shoot in Jeevan Mills in

Andheri East in suburban Mumbai on 18 July. The one hour episode that features rapster Devang Patel, singer Sonu Kakkar, telly star Chetan Hansraj, Indian Idol finalist Aditi Paul and others, will be on air on 26 July. Sister show, Fame Gurukul's participants were also in attendance and slotted to perform later in the night.

Devang Patel: time to take a break?

As we reached the sets, the only traces of a concert was by the 60-70 odd teens who were gathered around the mill compound, waiting for the stars to turn up - we realised that they would comprise the mock crowd that would be seen cheering Angad and company. The mock concert took ages to get underway - either the crowd wasn't enthusiastic enough, or some other time the stage wasn't clean enough. Most of the time it was the earlier bit that caused major problems - but you can't blame the crowd. At one in the night, it takes a lot of good spirit to shake a leg to a pre-recorded number mouthed by a hip shaking, pelvic thrusting singer…! Fame Gurukul contestants would be a better bet, any day!

Fame Gurukul participants: God knows why we are here!!!

Talking of Fame Gurukul, the participants looked wee bit out of place, (herded in by a lady who seemed more like a class monitor than anything else) in what might be called a 'mock' situation. Now there is nothing staged as far as their own competition is concerned, and they seemed to be taking this performance very seriously. As soon as they seated themselves, they started practicing their numbers and from what we heard, they really are masters of their art!
One person who is making her presence felt in what might be called meaningful television is perhaps Nigaar Khan. She was recently seen in Sony's Rihhaee, but also in Star One's Siddhanth. She will be seen in KYPH doing what we have seen her do before --- an item number!

Well, before we forget about it, the lead couple were conspicuous with their absence in the venue, although we were told that they would be there by 12:30 pm...but the stars failed to shine...and we waited...and eventually forgot about it!

Meanwhile, in the show, Angad, on being enlightened by his cousin that the sorry state of affairs in his life is not due to Kripa's betrayal, tries to help his lady love to become a popular rock star. He decides to rope in his friends from the rock world to sing with Kripa. This mega concert is the result of all these mechanisations.

KYPH was one of those shows that made heads turn due to its very different theme and content, specially after Indian Idol it successfully cashed in on the hysteria created by the reality show. The show was further boosted by the powerful presence of Iqbal Khan as Angad, but with the falling TRPs of Jassi…and now, CID as well, will the show be able to hold its own with Big B close on its heels?

Thanks for the replies.
Further I think, that Rooprekha, has got a major attitude problem. I as a person will never vote for such person. I am sure you guys will remember such ppl in your classrooms, where there are those few always raising hands to answer and complaining about others for thier advantage.

A joke:
This one I thought of. That Deepshikha didn't get any votes from public, because of her name's spelling. Who in this fast commercialised Inidan public, has time to correctly spell DEEPSHIKHA and sms. It is easier to type QAZI and press Send. 😆 😆

Sorry to bother you guys again, but I was just wondering, if any of you could play the videos on
http://famegurukul.sify.com/

I could never play them.
Secondly read this latest news from FG. Very funny. It is about Kirti, one og the guys currently at probation.

Kirti's future in the Gurukul hangs on votes, but despite all this tension he had a touching reunion with his fianc, Rakhee. Did we say touching! Well, it has been one year since they declared their love for each other, but it has only been a couple of weeks since Rakhee declared this love to the world via Fame Gurukul. This has really upset her father who has been hospitalised because of high blood pressure. The two lovers are totally distressed. Kirti confessed to Padma that he was finding it hard to concentrate.

Hey symbionn, I cud play the vdos, but it was getting cracked, coz the line was slow....

Anyway, its easier to feel bad for qazi than someone rude and arrogant, so he'll go his distance based on ppl's sympathy. As for rooprekha, i doubt that the judges will allow the voters to touch her....😉

So here starts the battle between the judges and the voters..... & nbsp; X
