India gets Kashmir heartthrob
Iqbal Khan, an ordinary boy from Kashmir, came to Mumbai with dreams of making it extraordinarily big. His raw intensity, deep baritone and performance as a passionate but arrogant rock star in Sony's Kaisa Ye Pyaar Hai (KYPH) now has millions of girls swooning over him. A college dropout, Iqbal started off as a model in Delhi and went on to do a couple of music videos. He worked as a production assistant in Mumbai before debuting in Fun2ssh. His presence in movies like Fun2ssh and Bullet wasn't much to write home about. But his debut on television made him a heartthrob not only in India but also in countries like USA and South Africa where KYPH is a huge hit. Now Iqbal declares with pride that Kaisa Ye Pyaar Hai is more popular than Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 in Kashmir.

Jodi polls the strings
One half of the Fame Gurukul jodi, Qazi Tauqeer gets full marks for confidence. Even though he was in the show's danger zone eight times, the audience voted him right back. Qazi won't be too happy remaining the new star of the small screen because his dream is to make it big in films. However, when he completes his one-year contract with the TV channel, his family is keen that he continues his studies. The second half of the jodi, Ruprekha Banerjee was the centre of many a joke for her faulty Hindi. Though some felt she didn't deserve to win since she was not a good performer, audience votes proved she had won the day, and hearts.

Foursome is awesome
The awesome foursome of Remix command a huge teenage fan following with their give-a-damn attitude. Youngest of the cast 19-year-old Karan Wahi, who essays the role of Ranvir Sisodia, says, "My father says Remix ne mere bete ki language sudhar di hai. That's because Ranvir addresses people as aap." A state-level cricketer, Karan is crazy about his PlayStation and loves to sleep on his day off.

Shocking red hair is Priya Wal's signature look. She plays Anvesha Banerjee Ray, the rebellious daughter who suffers from an inferiority complex about her filmstar mother's popularity. Priya is an adventure sports freak tomboy in real life too. Incidentally, her dad is the principal of a school and has a strong dislike for students who behave like the on-screen Priya.

Raj Singh Arora, who plays cool dude Yuvi, was a VJ with Zee Music before turning to acting. "I came to Mumbai with one bag, a credit card and a cellphone. My parents are proud of me. I have a law degree, and even now my dad tells me to keep updating my knowledge of law since it may come in handy someday," he says. Shweta Gulati plays Tia Ahuja who is known for her baby voice and angel friends. "I am my sister's idol," she says.
