What about Celebrity FG??

Hi friends,

Was wondering why we are not having any updates for Celebrity FG? Is ther no interest or is there another forum??

i don't think celebrity fg should be spoken about, ITS A HORRIBLE SHOW they killed the best show in the world by these celebritie.....no 1 wants 2 talk about it i guess

it ended.n with a good cause,it was v gud.but may b they cud hav tried sumthing better

its ended in india now...still a week left elsewhere
yes it was a horrible show....but ppl keep forgetting it was for such a wonderful cause....even tho i cudnt vote, the least i cud do was watch it

I'm gonna re-post what i said in another thread bout Celeb FG. It might answer ur question to sum extent, Rangli.

I understand and respect the fact that these stars are doing it for charity . But I wanna make a couple of points:

1. There are other ways to collect money for the Make a Wish Foundation. Firstly, Sony didn't need to do a music show. There are many other ways to contribute to a cause. They cudve done a dance show like nach baliye or sumthing else. I'm not saying dancing is easy or anything, but these celebs being good performers couldve done a decent job, perhaps better than trying to sing. And people would've watched something like that cos it wudve been watchable, and they wudve sent votes and the cause of Make a Wish wudnt have suffered the way it did by the Celeb FG flopping so badly. The point is, if u wanna put a show on TV, u have to make it watchable. Frankly, a lot of people have a heart and would wanna contribute through voting, but if Sony really wanted to reach out it went terribly wrong with the concept of a show that is insufferable to watch. Some may say, fine don't watch it if u don't like it, but then if ppl don't watch it, how is Make a Wish going to benefit? One's got to look at the practical side of things.

2. If they HAD to have a music show, they could've come up with the Dus ke Dus idea much before. At least all those ppl can sing, and people WILL vote cos they are so popular. The votes will pour in in far huger numbers than they did for the celebs. Sony has learnt its lesson. Why else are they ending Celeb Fg 2 weeks early?

2. Yes, these ppl on Celeb FG have taken out a lot of time but they are not those sorta 'celebs'. They are those TV stars who do NOT have hectic schedules, are not doing too much work, so that they cud do this. Its not like Tulsi, Parvati or Jassi are here. Perhaps if they were, the show wudve got many more viewers cos they are actual celebs, though I doubt they can sing either. Sony shudve given this sum thought.

While i am not being harsh on any of the contestants, I do think this show shudve done sum justice to the concept of 'sur' to get ppl to watch it. I have myself volunteered for several causes, and I would be delighted to see a TV show really making a difference. But Celeb FG was just not the answer.

ur lucky that u gotto vlounteer such causes.i wish i was also.but i wud ask dont v all sing.n in auditions many like these cumso whyb harsh on few gudmen,who i suppose wud not hav earned much to donate directly

delphic i agree, it was sonys fault...but mistake kiya to kiya...ab kya kare bechare channel waale...hopefully they learnt their mistake
sony actually got this idea from the UK version called Celebrity Fame Gurukul...which obviousely was done for chairity as well...but that suceeded more than the Sony version
😆 😆 i will agree it was a hillarious show, but i still watched it only keeping in mind what and who the show is for

yeha i agree they wud not have earned much, but the format of the show was such that ultimately they cud not do much. its the cause that suffered in the end. it isnt the celebs' fault, its Sony's. Thankfully they got smart and now r doing a show where ppl can sing! There's a guarantee that viewers will watch it and vote.

yeah that's why even I tried to watch the show but y'know, it isnt fair to expect all TV audiences to only think of charity. sabka dil hota hai, main mana nahin kar rahi hoon, but few ppl will be willing to watch stuff that just doesn't appeal. u guys both have the right spirit but i doubt too many ppl would make the effort to watch the show like u did. even i gave up, though very guiltily 😊

ye i agree....it cant be expected of everyone obviousely.....but just from my side, i tried 😊
