It is very sorry that a discussion forum should be so controlled. There have been many times - that whole topics simply dissappear.....

It should be impartial and nuetral - allowing topics - even highly controversial to be discussed....that is the whle idea of having such a forum....

I agree that those posts/topics which are personal/derogatory/foul language etc... should be censored/cut - but not topics which raise a valid question.......

Does anyone agree?????

Hello,

I am sorry, but I don't agree. India Forums has given a lot of liberty to its members. Posts which are deleted from the forum are the ones which contain personal attacks and offesive language. or the threads which are leading to no where but only to arguments.

If it was liberty of speech, then in this forum, we would have closed all the topics which say " I hate this, I hate that" because we want to make this forum a freindly envirnoment.

We only close those topics, which get to the extreme of arguments.

I hope I cleared your misunderstanding.

Take Care

I agree!!!!

I posted 5 topics, only one on first page and the second went straight to 5th page!!!

The 3 postings critical of Sony have simply disappeared.

Sometimes topics disappear and ten re-appear in the inner pages!!!!!

This happens only with controversial topics. Ad whenever Arpita is in danger and too many negative postings against her the website SLOWS DOWN

Too much of a co-incidence????

God DIDO - you too have the same problems as me....

Every time Arpita is in danger....website crawls slowly.

And even I have had too many "controversial" topics disappear....and return in the 14th-15th page.....

Like you said...some controversial (read Arpita related / channel related) topics appear directly on the 4th - 5th page.....

Glad to have company.....I was thinking I'm becoming paranoid....

I think Dido and malinn, you might be refering to the problem, which we are facing. topics do get disappeared, but simple way is to do search for that username. and it will show your topics.

We mods, have no power to move topics to back pages. they get pushed back, by themselves as this is a very active section of IF.

Sorry Bholi Bhali,

I don't agree with you. If postings have foul, offensive language, or personal attacks then moderators have every right to delete those topics or warn members.

I have myself posted many messages urging members not to do so.

But I have myself seen hot topics especially one very critical of Sony, disappear, re-appear etc.

I may risk being banned or put on warning notice, But I have participated in enough discussion forums to know the spontaneity of discussions and how they move up and down,

Sorry, but I am suspicious too. I am sure there are others out there who feel like me. And I have seen enough postings by members expressing frustration on this issue.

Any way it is just another 2 weeks of FG and frankly, I am not sure if I will return to this forum.

I am sick of all these manipulations!

I am not sure, what you are trying to say. we don't have any power of moving topics from one page of the section to another.
We can move those topics from one section to another, but not to pages.

topics which are pushed back to page 14 & 15 and so on, move beacuse members don't reply to them.

I found this topic on page 4. and I replied. many members just reply what they find on page one or two.

IF doesn't have that strict rules. we only delete, or close topics which are crossing limits.

I also posted a very logical topic about the FJ being
RR title to lose, and it was quite a clean discussion and suddenly after some 20 responses and being quite active it disappeared in 10 minutes. I searched for it for in 20 pages. It was lost.. Is there any system bug in the forum? Please check

yes pages do get lost but i feel it is a system problem so i open 2 tabs in my firefox one for page 1 and other where i search for the topics i had posted on. but it is indeed frustrating for novice users, also the search funcionality can be enhanced with more advance selection - dunno how much the system is capable of doing that.
