I agree with TM's analysis regarding the Ranvi character and what the makers have done to it. The acting is also not up to the mark. In the initial episodes post leap, there were glimpses of the old Ranvi. Then suddenly all that vanished under his Gunjan Ka Deewana act. In that track, sometimes you will see the old strong Ranvi. But the rest of the time he was just going with the flow and taking any abuse coming his way! Very disappointing when you think of what Ranvi as a kid USED to be like!! If we had no point of reference it would be different. But we saw Ranvi as a child and a young kid and we saw what he was like. Now the way he acts is quite contrary to that strong and confident character.

I also agree with other comments that there is no need to make Ranvi under confident so that they can show Veera as over confident! That long as speech she gave the producer was really a bit too much. They could have cut down at least a minute from that speech! I am liking the Veera we are seeing these days, coz she is acting like a normal girl and worrying about her love life and her appearance etc. Trying to impress a guy she likes, trying to tell him he is special etc etc. So I am enjoying that aspect of Veera! This giving speeches business is in Veera's nature, but less is more!!

Baldev as a kid used to get on my nerves. But now as an adult he is adorable. The way Baldev has been written is much better than how they have written Ranvi as an adult. But the acting of Vishal is a VERY big contributor to the charm of Baldev. In the hands of a less talented actor, the effect this character has would be significantly less! Vishal is able to play ALL shades of Baldev to perfection and this has added to the watchability and charm of Baldev. Pretty much everyone is enamoured with him. Not just teenage fangirls! :)

The makers really need to strengthen Ranvi and give him more backbone. Also, he should be made into a villain in the VEEBA love story. This will be a lot better to watch than Ranvi saying "Ha Veerakadi, tu Baldev se hi Shadi Kar, muje koi aiteraaz Nahin"! Come on... He should ask Baldev to show him that he is worthy of his sister, given his sketchy behaviour in the past! THAT is what the old Ranvi would do!

Ranvi should TOTALLY be the villain in VeeBa love story. A major and needed obstacle. The young ranvi would not have let Baldeva anywhere near her. Even now if we think about it in societal terms he is not worthy. Baldeva is a Gem of a Guy, but he lacks education, employment and independent identity- major criteria any parent would expect in a prospective partner for their child. There is also his past history of misdemeanours.
Once Ranvi succeeds he should also contemplate fulfilling not just their father's dreams, but Veera's to study abroad! Yeah another obstacle for Veeba😈

Also, I would like to tashan between Nihaal and Ranvi.

Lastly growth and development of a backbone and confidence in Ranvi.

In terms of acting - Shivin's body language and expressions have to be different for Veera and Gunjan... too often its the same.

I definitely agree that Gunjan needs to return back to being a girl with ambition. What really irks me is that as soon as Gunjan went from negative to positive, they took away her ambition! As if "good" girls can't be ambitious! Maybe it's just the feminist in me, but I was really hurt by that.

@bold- well I want Gunjan to have that ambition but I still wont justify her acts to fulfill her ambitions. Willing to marry a wife abuser just so she can go to Canada, or willing to sleep with a producer just so she can become an actress, I feel that is kind of self-destructive actions. :-)

I think once Ranvi becomes popular and once she becomes celebrity's wife, the real Gunjan should come out again..that will be fun to watch.

When u think of that , what is Ranvi - he is also uneducated, does just farming work , undertook lot of debts and was about to lose his house - no financial management , poorer than the Balwant family , still they got Gunjan married to him .

Then why has Baldev to give any pareekhsha , he is ahead of Ranvi in 1000 ways

You are absolutely right. But Ranvi is not simply Ranvi, he is Mahaan Ranvi, son of aur bhi Mahaan Sampooran Singh.😆 Add to that, the whole of PP are loyal bhakt of SS family (when they are not afflicted by Pendulum Syndrome that is).😆 And Ballu's dad is their no.1 Bhakt.😆😭

So there is literally no comparison.😆

The problem is CVs have gotten confused and have totally messed up the line between being honest and being dumb. Ranvi, in the past has so much strength and strong beliefs that even his mother couldn't budge him if he was convinced about something but today this guy is nothing but a hen-pecked husband. He lacks conviction, has no identity of his own nor an iota of self respect. Shivin needs to improve but the character itself needs some identity grounds and pronto.
The contrast between Baldev and Ranvi is that Baldev never tries to claim something that he's not. He doesn't play bechara... right or wrong he never gives up without putting up a fight... but Ranvi, works on sympathies most of the time. His so-called deeds are turning out as the projection of is low self-esteem and weak character. Ranvi is only a man of words...while Baldev is a man of actions!

If he had lil bit of self respect , instead of neck shaking in the recording studio - he would have told the music director that "kheti baadi" is not a chota kaam .. and would have got out of the studio taking gunveera along with him , if he is really talented then he will be successful , he should have that conviction atleast ...but here he is bearing so much of insult , going on nodding ...

Hey, that's not at all what I was implying. What I believe is people can have dreams, any dreams (even going to Canada for free lol). Dreams are good, but you can't harm people on the way to achieving them and your dream can't be something that will cause other people pain.

Yes, people here thought I was referring to her "Canada obsession" which I was, but I want Gunjan to pursue her dreams without all the evilness and childish stubbornness. I want her to still be actively pursuing her dreams for a better life, however, but just from a more modest/humble vantage point.

Ambition can be a good thing! Especially for women, but obviously I wasn't justifying her actions in the past. There are better ways to achieve your dreams and I hope they show Gunjan taking better paths to follow her dreams. But in the end, I DO want them to show Gunjan following her dreams.

Yes...I agree with this.

Where is Ranvi? the REAL Ranvi??

He has disappeared post leap and has been replaced by a mere shadow of him. Little Ranvi had conviction, confidence, and integrity. He did not stand by when soemthing he knew to be wrong was going down...he even defended Ballu from Veera sometimes! LOL...as a little kid he had more backbone and character in his little pinky than post Ranvi...this is the CV's fault because they seem to have forgotten who Ranvi is...

how you forget who one of your central characters are is beyond me...but they forgot him.

Shivin too needs to step up too...he is so charming as himself, but he loses it all as Ranvi...the stammering needs to stop, the down cast eyes (all the time!!) need to stop...but the fault is mostly the CV"s...the need to write him better-that's it!

Little Ranvi had so much gravitas...his voice had weight, and you could see he was wise beyond his years...the way he would say "Veeeraaa" exasperatedly, or "Beejee" so seriously that Ratan would go mum...was awesome!

The studio scene was so pitiful...it was many of you said, absolutely cringe worthy

What happened to him just sucks!
