I am doing this now 🤣. Just because Veera calls him bewakoof he would not be one!!! Baldev is clever and street smart!!! He is naive, but certainly not a bewakoof!!!

During the Second Challenge of Veera, she was loitering around Baldev to find out what he is doing!!! The so called intelligent girl did not have a clue that Baldev was into bartering!!! She kept on asking "Tu ki kar raha hai!!!" She looked like an educated fool to me!!!

Baldev proved time and again that ideas are no one's monopoly. I totally agree that he manipulated and trapped Veera in the Jungle with the boxes. But he was the one who converted the adversities into opportunities!!! He gathered whatever he could and he did pursue the goal of helping Veera in the face of difficulties!!! In this scenario also I found Veera rather clueless!!!

Let me highlight two individuals who have done extremely well in their lives without the so called higher education. There are many to name but I would just mention 2, Mark Twain did not have any formal education to his credit. But that did not let him stand second to any other author in English Literature. Then here goes an Indian example, Mr Kamal Hassan has done only his primary education, but hear him speak, his command in English makes me ashamed of my education. Not just English but his thoughts too!!!

I hear people complaining that there are no originality these days. Bull!!! Allow your mind to stretch beyond the obvious!!! Education - the buck does not stop there!!! Education makes you literate, I do not disagree but life does not end with that!!!! Education should not make us arrogant, I have seen remarkably intelligent people in my hometown Kerala who are far far better than me, but lack of opportunity to excel in English has tied them down. Never in my life I would underestimate their intelligence just because they cannot converse in Queen's language!!!

I understand education and English do not have to go together. but it is a rare case not in every case where a person is not educated do they turn out to be Mark Twain. Regarding Kamal Hasan I do not know much except he could not make it into the Hindi movies.

If you are from Keral I mean Madrasi then your English must be good . that is what they say. What does it matter if you are from "village" or "city" there are many in cities who do not know that much English. and if you are from village and you paid attention in your English class then you English
"automatically" becomes good. Not because knowing English is "great" but it is a language and when you learnt a language in school like in India you respect it and learn it the right way. for that matter learn any language the right way. southies in mumbai if they have marathi then they should learn it so well even if it is not their mother tongue. the problem is in our minds when we think a certain language is "difficult" it is not . you just have to pay attention and enjoy learning it. same goes for English.

But Baldev is he that "large" hearted to let a girl be better than him in "English" and educated in public school when he Baldev went to the "test" to get into public school and made a mockery of it. Veera too got in by picking up garbage but still...

and then he was spending his time smoking beedis on the sly when Veera was busy studying.

Baldev did not forget to put the blame on Ranvijay and almost got him expelled.

Gunjan is no less. She was fine as a kid. but now she really did a lot of "stuff" to put her parents in trouble.

Only now she is flirting with Ranveer and acts "lovey dovey" (sic)

in all the brother/sister gunjan / baldev make a "real pair" given headache to Veera and her Veerji.

Even as Veera is an illegitimate child the story is around her. Legitimate or illegitimate Veera got adopted by her stepmom. So the rest of the world can mind their business.

I am really sorry to enlighten you that "Madrasi" is a racist terminology!!! I am not from Madras/ TN, please get your facts right that Kerala is a different state in the Indian Union!!!

I feel you were totally unfair in bringing a racist angle to what I wrote, all I did was just to cite an example from where I hail!!! Oh boy!!! you have taken it to a completely different angle by stating this sentence "If you are from Keral I mean Madrasi then your English must be good . that is what they say."

There is a great deal of difference between cities and villages in India. The exposure that you get in a village is really different from what you get in a metro/ a city!!! The most important part of learning a language is to practice it, hear it, speak it!!! Rote learning does not contribute much in having mastery over a language!!! Then by citing the example of Mark Twain & Kamal Hassan I just wanted to make a point that, "If there is a will, there is a way!!!

Kamal Hassan is the first actor to win the National Film Award thrice and his Bollywood career was not a tragical affair as you have pointed out!!! His film Sadma was a box-office failure but it has a cult status in Bollywood!!! Kamal wisely chose to stay in a language where his way of film making and the expectation of the audience match!!! The reason for some actors not doing good in Bollywood has nothing to do with their talent, but the difference in the sensibilities of the audience!!! You have provided yet another yardstick for success in the film fraternity - BOLLYWOOD!!! Bud, let me tell you Rajnikant is not from Bollywood, would you rate him as unsuccessful!!! Then Kamal Hassan, Amitabh Bachan & Mammootty share a record having bagged the National Film Awards thrice!!! In this both the actors except Mr Bachan are not from Bollywood!!!

India is world's largest producer of films and you just cannot ignore the strong regional players here. It is high time we get out the racist stereotypes like Madrasi, Bhaiyya, Ghatti etc. India is a union of different states, religions, communities, ethnicities, castes, colour, creed, customs!!! We need to accept and respect all and go ahead. I really do not understand why we resort to name calling???

oye oye don't fly off the handle. Madrasi is a racial word? really? then why do they use this racial word in tv serials like yeh hai mohabbattein so many times. they keep saying madrasan . tv serials don't use racial words right? right.

I did not mean it as a racial word. I just said that because you are from keral. I understand you are not from Madras. so technically not a madrasi. but what is TN?

as for getting out of racist stereotypes like Madrasi, Bhaiyya, Ghati etc you admit there are lot of "racist" words in use in India. Then they all are wrong.

By saying "madrasis" are good in English I thought I was complimenting you. and you took it all wrong.

all the stats about who bagged national awards how many times it just went over my head. means nothing to me. yeah one thing is sure Indian union is producing films on a large scale. masses ko bewakoof banane ke liye. that is for sure.

Agreed you get exposure in cities in India. But English and good schools where one learns English are not limited to big cities.

and then there are civil service officers who hail from rural villages who pass the civil services wth flying colors. and that is no mean task. same goes for a number of people who make it big from small villages. and when there is a mind there is a way. especially in India even in villages the way a subject is taught is as good as it is taught in a city. as regards exposure depends on what kind of "exposure" you get in big cities. to good things or bad things that depends. and good schools exist in villages too. depends on where you are located too. I bet in Keral where you come from the awareness of what is good education even in the remotest villages. especially in the south and that I mean as a compliment.

my opinion is don't grumble about languages. even if you are from south living in mumbai don't grumble about how difficult marathi is . enjoy it as a language and learn it. same goes for English. as much as you like something you enjoy learning it. then it does not become a difficult task but an enjoyable one.

Ok bud u4tlu please hold on! I think u seem to have lost track of your own argument here. U were the one who pointed out here that how a city educated girl like Veera can land up with a bewakoof village fella like Baldev who can't even speak English. So I came up with the counter argument that village folks are no less intelligent, but lol now you seem to have taken a total U turn from your initial view points & seems to be the supporter of village folks!!!

Ohhh please pal, just because your XYZ serial uses the word "Madrasan" it is no less racist. Small screen & silver screen in India use these racist stereotypes to increase their trp & entertainment quotient, as we love to laugh at others!! Words like Madrasi, Bhaiyya, Ghatti etc are racist whether we use it in popular culture or not!! The social civic sense in India has not grown to that level to move away from racist remarks!!!

Let me cite few more examples here, I have many Gujarati friends none of them say "Snacks as Snakes" but I always see people making fun of their community with such lame topics!! Then TN means Tamil Nadu. I am really sorry to say, the way you had written Keral & Madrasi, it did not look like a compliment to me!!!

If you could kindly pay attention to my posts not even once I have referred to "Marathi" being perceived as easy or difficult!! Comparing English language with Indian tongues is like comparing apples & oranges for me. Indian languages might have a common etymology where as English is a total foreign tongue for us!!!

Then I am truly taken aback by one of your comments u4tlu, if you knew I am from Keral & hence not from Madras!!! Then I kindly request you to tell me why you wrote this, "If you are from Keral I mean Madrasi then your English is suppose to be good that is what they say."

I thought as usual, out of sheer ignorance you might have referred me as a Madrasi, but now I know you deliberately resorted to name calling.

I have no hard feelings but I feel really sorry thinking about the mindset of our own people.

I still remember of a incident doing rounds in the UK dailies how "Prince Harry" third in line of the British Throne had to publicly apologise for passing a racist remark on one of his colleagues from Pakistani origin. One should not be allowed to pass racist remarks and look how even a crown prince was no exception. God has created all of us equally which ever country or race we belong to. I really wonder when our country would get past these racist discriminations & realize that there is no fun in ridiculing someone based on their caste, colour, creed or religion.
