Ranvi's character assassination resulted in him being an errand boy

So, Ranvi should be the main character of the show, but the makers don't seem to think this way.

The problem started when he was dis-qualified from the elections and instead of him, Ratan won. Ranvi is now nothing but a guy who is Sarpanch's son and runs some errands for her, for example - ' Beeji main ye laa deta hun ', 'Beeji main wo cheez market se le aata hun' is heard frequently in the episode now adays. His role is nothing but 'a guy who brings things for his mother'. WOW!, such a likable character he is, a guy who can bring materials from the market, isn't this what every fan girl dreams of, no it isn't.

The other role of Ranvi in episode now adays- is to do a little teenage romance with his wife, thats it. The Cv's are indirectly telling Ranjan fans that ' we dont want to waste time creating stories for this couple, just take this stupid teenage romance and be happy' or 'Take this and get lost'.

Ranvi is supposed to be strong and not a teenager, he should be the decision maker and not an errand boy. Ranvi is my favourite character but not this errand/teenage romance kid.

I really liked Ranjans story before, Infact I consider their Dargah scene to be one of the finest scenes from the show, but now Ranjan is nothing but a teenage couple who can give you diabetes if you watch them.

Tbh, his character has no scope post-leap. He has never been able to do anything for himself. He's either there for his sister, his mother or to be Gunjan's aashiq(which according to the CVs is about romance. No communication, no development. No nothing). that's it. That's what his character is limited to. It immensely disappoints me that one of the leads of this show has been made into a whole new character altogether.

RanJan's story is like one of those saas-bahu crap Ekta shows. I'm gonna be very honest here, RanJan in the starting had the better everything! Better story, better direction and hell! even the focus! But CVs had other plans for them, I guess. They're not even connected with the plot! What is their relevance in the whole story, apart from their love-story?

With grave sadness I have to agree with what you are saying. Ranvi pre leap was my favourite character. I loved Ratan too, but I just adored Ranvi. His self sacrificing brother role was just heartwarming. He also had many shades to him.

Even after the leap, his character had promise. Even the RANJAN story at the start was very good. I remember how Ranvi spoke to Gunjan and told her that he knows that behind the make up there is a different person. He showed her that he SEES the real her. This is even before we knew he was secretly in love with her.

I agree with TM the Dharga scene with the song from Veer- Zara "Aya Tere Dar par Deewana" was one of my favourites. To date I have not seen such a superb scene being given to VEEBA. (Though I am a huge fan of theirs). Then of course we found out Gunjan was playing Ranvi. Things went south. But eventually things picked up. But since then I was NEVER able to warm to their love story. I always felt something was missing.

Now they are truly together, but I am still feeling let down by the story between RANJAN. There really is no depth to it anymore. Just ghissa pitta romance scenes. That is all. Ranvi clearly does NOT understand Gunjan. Gunjan also clearly does not understand Ranvi and how he thinks. She is yet to appreciate the role he plays in Veera's life. She dosen't know what is important to her husband. Actually she doesn't care!! It is all about them "spending time together". What is the use of it, if you don't even know what the other person is thinking??

In contrast, at least Baldev KNOWS Veera better. The CV's showed us he does in that scene where Veera tells Baldev, "do you know what I value, what I most want to achieve "?? He said "Yes, your Mother's love". That was the most heartfelt moment between them to date. Baldev showed then that jokes apart, he TRULY knows Veera!! Truly understands what she values.

Has Gunjan to date EVER shown that to Ranvi? Ever understood him? Has Ranvi ever really understood Gunjan? Yes he loves her. But does he really understand her deep seated insecurities? The fact that she NEEDS to be constatantly validated? She is someone who never got the validation she wanted from her family. She always felt less valued than her brother by her mum. So she is just CRAVING for attention. Now that she knows Ranvi loves her truly, she is just trying to "possess" him. He can't even see that!! CV's have really stuffed up their narration in my view.

It is sad what has become of Ranvi's character, there was so much potential after the leap but I feel after he married everything fell apart. The CVs just don't know where to go with him which is sad because I can think of many things that can be done, including ways to make RanJan a more tolerable pairing.

MrDarcyfan, said it right there is no depth to this pairing at all. I used to love them before they turned Gunjan negative and then I started warming upto them again when Gunjan started falling for Ranvi for real. However since they remarried, CVs screwed things up royally. Instead of showing these teenage romance scenes, why not show these two trying to understand each other more? Stop showing Ranvi to be so oblivious to the fact Gunjan wants some alone time with him. Show Gunjan understanding the importance Veera has in Ranvi's life and helping him maintain a balance. There is much more than can be done to both characters and their pairing in general. CVs really need to wise up here.

Ranvi was my most favourite character pre leap.. I loved him.. I liked Ranvi in the initial weeks of post leap as well.. But uske baad toh CVs have not left one chance to butcher this character.. Its sad to see what the CVs have done with a character which had so much potential.. I would have left the show long back but then Baldev ne maari entriyaan and dil main baji ghantiyaan ❤️ 😆
Ranvi doesn't look like the hero of the show tbh..

And I never liked with RanJan because IMO they never had good chemistry.. So even if they got a good scene I failed to like it because I just couldn't connect with this couple.. Their story was rushed.. They have already married twice in a span of less than 6 months.. Now all they do is romance and that too is soo sugary and cheesy that it has become unbearable to watch them onscreen.. 😳

If the CVs were to add depth to the character instead of inserting the most cheesy romance scenes, then more viewers would warm up to this pairing but instead its become overbearing. They really need to work on Ranvi's character, I feel out of the four leads it is Ranvi who lacks the most progression.

Agree with. Ranvi's character is butchered to the extent that it seems lame and useless.
Forget being strong and important in the story, he is not even entertaining 🥱
He has been shown running behind women in his life. And I think his love story hindered the most to his character. He is a male lead of the show but CVs have given him a story which doesn't suit the character if we look back at chota Ranvi. 😕

He can't take decisions, he don't voice up his opinion (wonder if he has any opinion), he don't know how to balance between his martial life and his family... He don't have any dream, he easily gets influenced... his life is fully dependent and divided between his mother, sister and wife...

For character assassination CVs are to be blame but even actor plays main role in building up a character. Its actor who pumps life in fictional character but Shivin has disappointed to many people like me who were happy with his selection to play Ranvi. I guess actor haven't understood the actor. Lack of efforts are visible from his acting. His presence on screen bores or irritates. Shivin really needs to work hard on his acting skills, I dont know about his previous show but Shivin as Ranvi is unimpressive and lame.

Other 3 young actors with him are better when it comes to their respective character. His actions - reactions seems fake and forced.

Tbh CVs should replace the him for the betterment of Ranvi. He irritates me most.

This is purely my opinion and none should feel offended.

For me they butchered Ranvi's character wen he decided to take the blame upon himself after the vanity van fiasco!
That was so not him... a person for whom his family and the reputation values the most will never do anything after which they wld have to hang their heads in shame.
He saved Gunjan after wat she had done with him and his family.
Even agreed to marry her to save her so called izzat!
That was the limit.
After that his character has just went downhill.
He shld be the decision maker but instead it looks like he doesnt have any opinion of his own.
I remember the childhood Ranvi and how strong a character he was... even Ratan had to bow down infront of his wishes on many ocassions!
Ratan, Veera & Gunjan control him.
He doesnt knw how to balance between his married life & family responsibilities!
And there is absolutely nothing in RanJan lovestory.
Romance is not the only thing left to do after two ppl get married.
I've never liked them but they were atleast tolerable in the beginning!
Now I instantly change the channel wenever they start showing their scenes.
Neither Ranvi at the moment has got any significant role to play in the story... nor RanJan!
They are just useless if you look frm the story point of view... atleast for now!
