Without exaggeration Ranvi was my favourite character pre leap and I looked forward to watching the show post leap for his story though I knew the show is going be about Veera.
But his character has been a disappointment post leap. His selflessness looks like lack of self respect to me. I know these are the traits of most of the lead heroes on SP shows which focus on social issues. So maybe the makers thought along those lines.
To be frank when the leap started, the focus was on Ranvi and he was given the best scenes in the show, especially emotional ones. But the actor failed to make me connect to the the character. I have always felt bad for all characters in the show when they have cried sparing Gunjan and Ranvi inspite of them being given a lot of emotional scenes. I would blame writing as well as acting here. Good scenes failed to make an impact because of below par performances. Now its a combination of both.

Like everybody here I agree that Ranjan were always given the best scenes in the show. Even now, a lot of creativity is invested in writing their scenes. They should have kept Gunjan consistent with her pre leap characterization - a selfless girl. I used to genuinely feel bad for her when she was a kid. Inspite of several scenes to prove her innocence and shed light on her sad past, post leap the character has zilch impact on me. I still think Ranjan are the CVs favourites. But in an attempt to make their love story more impactful in comparison to the other couple, the CVs decided to bring in the hate angle which proved to be a huge failure. I don't understand why the CVs couldn't digest the fact that a love hate story and a couple which is played by way better actors would definitely make more impact. But Ranjan could also have had an LS which viewers like me would have watched because of the interest in the story line especially since they are given the best scenes in the show. Now I change the channel whenever they appear on screen.
Even the reason for Ranvi falling in love with Gunjan was so shallow. When G asked Ranvi what he likes about her, his reply was "Teri kalhayiyaan". It symbolized the fact that he fell for her good looks. Whereas in Veeba's case, a lot of build up and emotional depth has been given to their relationship inspite of them not being friends.
Ranjan seem to share a lust filled relationship. I blame the acting completely for this. When they look into each other's eyes it seems to be lust more than love to me. I can even watch scenes of couples with no chemistry just to follow the show, but I cannot watch it if actors fail to connect me to their characters.
Bansuri is one character I don't like. But when she was given emotional scenes during the Wantsuri engagement the actor's portrayal touched me. So the fault lies with both the actors and writers here.

P.S: I am not being biased against the couple because I am not their fan. This is purely an honest opinion. I just cannot tolerate below par acting. But shoddy writing can be compensated for by good actors.

I agree the post-leap writing for Ranvi has been pathetic . But to be very honest Shivin is a bigger reason why Ranvi post leap is an epic failure .

From the initial episodes post leap , in an effort of acting shy , he made Ranvi look like a mentally retarded person with all his mannerisms like the wide smile , always open mouth , tongue out , nose flaring , the way he claps dropped head etc etc

To add that zero efforts and energy from him to the scenes. He hardly looks interested .

Truth is that CVs should replace him with some other actor that too asap . That is better for the show .

Yes, I agree with everyone here.

Ranvi's character has been butchered beyond recognition! He was such a bad ass pre-leap...it's sad to see that as a little boy he had more depth and maturity then he does now...it may be the acting as some of you have said, but I don't know, not all actors can turn crap into gold...and the writers have been giving Shivin a whole load of crap to work with!!!!

I have absolutely never liked Ranjan post leap (but I liked them as kids...and I had hoped to see how their story progressed...colour me disappointed🤢)...I only just started warming up to them when for a brief period of time it looked like Ranvi's backbone was growing back, but that was just a mirage really cuz he went right back to his womp womp womp mode...and Gunjan was back to being annoying as hell...put those two together and no matter how many "romantic" (seriously the CV"s suck at this romance business when it comes to these two) situation you try to give them they just fall flat...every freakin time...Ranjan have no chemistry, and the writing that surrounds that is sub par...so what more can we expect from them😕...I forward their scenes.

Its not like I hate RanJan and Like Veeba, I like RanJan, but only when they have some story, they had it for a while even after marriage but after they fell in love- the same old boring teenage romance started, which I think no mature fan would like.

Other than romance- the only work Ranvi has to bring thing/materials for his Beeji/Sarpanch, cmon grow a spine. Not be rude or anything but his work is equal to a puppy who does what he is told. ( please forgive me if this hurts any fan, let me know if it hurts you, ill edit it ).

RanJan fans have to understand that this kiddy romance wont be for too long, a story stays and garners audience while this kiddish romance will loose them.

Its sad to see what the CVs have done with a character which had so much potential.. I would have left the show long back but then Baldev ne maari entriyaan and dil main baji ghantiyaan ❤️ 😆
Ranvi doesn't look like the hero of the show tbh..

And I never liked with RanJan because IMO they never had good chemistry.. So even if they got a good scene I failed to like it because I just couldn't connect with this couple.. Their story was rushed.. They have already married twice in a span of less than 6 months.. Now all they do is romance and that too is soo sugary and cheesy that it has become unbearable to watch them onscreen.. 😳

They never had a gud chemistry? they r one of the best couples in recent times whom many r dying to watch here

Didn't I say 'IMO' meaning In My Opinion!! And why dying? Don't these people get RanJan scenes almost everyday to drool upon? 🤔
And even after getting so many scenes they have failed to have an impact on me.. I actually dont find any chemistry between them!

Smita-You're better then me...I didn't say "IMO" because I believe that chemistry is not a matter of opinion...it's either there or it isn't...no matter if anyone is offended by what I'm saying, it doesn't change the fact that Ranjan lack chemistry. You can love Ranvi and Gunjan, and love Ranjan because of how they look together onscreen or how they deliver their dialogues (I don't get it, but that part at least is to each their own)...but saying they have chemistry when they don't is lying.

There are couples on shows that my mom watches (she has her shows on whenever I'm over LOL), that I cannot stand, but they do have chemistry that shoots through the screen! I may not like them, but I cannot deny that there is chemistry...it is something that just crackles on screen...you either have it or you don't...it isn't something you can create...with really good actors it isn't a requirement because they can make it work, but if you have great actors who share the chemistry then it's ON baby!!!

I don't know what other shows you guys watch, but I here are some examples of chemistry versus no chemistry:

SRK-Katrina in JTHJ= no Chemistry (SRK is an amazzzing actor but even he couldn't revive this pairing🤢)
SRK-Anushka in JTHJ= Chemistry (Anushka annoys me...but she shares great chemistry with SRK)

SRK-Kajol in anything they've ever done together=chemistry through the freakin roof!!! why? because here you have two immensely talented actors who share chemistry...when they're on screen it crackles!!!

An example of great actors, but no chemistry: SRK-Manisha in Dil Se. They had no chemistry, but because they're kick ass actors they made it work...all you have to do is compare them to SRK-Preity in the same movie, the latter had chemistry in spades.

Abhishek-Rani=Chemistry (again don't like Abhishek, but with Rani the chemistry was crackling)

Abhishek-Aishwarya: no chemistry, and they're not the greatest actors so it never really clicks between them...despite the fact that as a couple off-screen they're amazing together.

Hrithik-Aishwarya: Chemistrrry!

Aishwarya-Akhsay Kumar: both super good looking, but zilch chemistry...and coupled again with the fact that they aren't the best actors, they weren't able to make it work.

A great example of two not so talented actors who have chemistry together:
Katrina-Akshay Kumar...they've made some serious bank on their chemistry alone, because lord knows their acting chops are kind of meh😕
