But his character has been a disappointment post leap. His selflessness looks like lack of self respect to me. I know these are the traits of most of the lead heroes on SP shows which focus on social issues. So maybe the makers thought along those lines.
To be frank when the leap started, the focus was on Ranvi and he was given the best scenes in the show, especially emotional ones. But the actor failed to make me connect to the the character. I have always felt bad for all characters in the show when they have cried sparing Gunjan and Ranvi inspite of them being given a lot of emotional scenes. I would blame writing as well as acting here. Good scenes failed to make an impact because of below par performances. Now its a combination of both.
Like everybody here I agree that Ranjan were always given the best scenes in the show. Even now, a lot of creativity is invested in writing their scenes. They should have kept Gunjan consistent with her pre leap characterization - a selfless girl. I used to genuinely feel bad for her when she was a kid. Inspite of several scenes to prove her innocence and shed light on her sad past, post leap the character has zilch impact on me. I still think Ranjan are the CVs favourites. But in an attempt to make their love story more impactful in comparison to the other couple, the CVs decided to bring in the hate angle which proved to be a huge failure. I don't understand why the CVs couldn't digest the fact that a love hate story and a couple which is played by way better actors would definitely make more impact. But Ranjan could also have had an LS which viewers like me would have watched because of the interest in the story line especially since they are given the best scenes in the show. Now I change the channel whenever they appear on screen.
Even the reason for Ranvi falling in love with Gunjan was so shallow. When G asked Ranvi what he likes about her, his reply was "Teri kalhayiyaan". It symbolized the fact that he fell for her good looks. Whereas in Veeba's case, a lot of build up and emotional depth has been given to their relationship inspite of them not being friends.
Ranjan seem to share a lust filled relationship. I blame the acting completely for this. When they look into each other's eyes it seems to be lust more than love to me. I can even watch scenes of couples with no chemistry just to follow the show, but I cannot watch it if actors fail to connect me to their characters.
Bansuri is one character I don't like. But when she was given emotional scenes during the Wantsuri engagement the actor's portrayal touched me. So the fault lies with both the actors and writers here.
P.S: I am not being biased against the couple because I am not their fan. This is purely an honest opinion. I just cannot tolerate below par acting. But shoddy writing can be compensated for by good actors.
