VeeBa FF: Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya Part 1
It was a beautiful night in Pritampura, with all the villagers gathered outside Balwant's house, where everyone was sitting around a bonfire.
Veera was there along with Ranvi, Gunjan, Beeji, and Chaiji.
Baldev was sitting with his chamchas, and his parents. Baldev kept looking over at Veera, with a victorious smile.
Baldev (thinking to himself): "Aaj toh main tenu sabke saamne apne pyaar ka izhaar karunga Veera!"
("Veera, today, I am going to confess my love for you in front of the whole village.")
Veera was under a lot of stress and worried. She had had enough of Baldev's constant reminders of their marriage. She viewed his constant reminders as harassment.
Veera (thinking of herself): "Pata nahin yeh Baldev mera peecha kyun nahin chod raha? Usse kaise lag sakta hai ke mainu usse pyaar hai. Ab bas, bahut ho gaya! Mainu Baldev se baat karni hogi akele mein aur use samjhana padega ke main usse pyaar nahin karti."
("I don't know why Baldev is not leaving me alone? How can he think that I love him. Thats it, I have had enough! I have to talk to Baldev alone and make him understand that I don't love him.")
Veera got up to go speak to Baldev. Baldev noticed and began to smile. His chamchas, Jaggi and Billa also noticed and nudged him with their elbow, smiling upon seeing Veera coming towards Baldev.
Jaggi (whispered to Baldev): "Paaji, lagta hai aaj Veera aapse apna pyaar izhaar karegi."
("Paaji, looks like Veera will confess her love for you today.")
Baldev (smiled): "Oye chup! Dekh ab main kya karta hoon."
("Oh shut up! Look at what I will do now.")
Veera: "Baldev, mainu tujhse bahut zaroori baat karni hai. Please yahan nahin, akele mein."
("Baldev, I have something important that I need to tell you. Please not here, somewhere alone.")
Baldev smiled, and looked over at his chamchas, unable to believe that Veera was that desperate to spend time alone with him.
Baldev: "Ek minute Veera! Mainu bhi tujhse kuch zaroori baat karni hai."
("One minute Veera! I have something important to tell you as well.")
Veera tried to protest and explain, but there was no use. Baldev held her arm and pulled her to the center of the bonfire area, to stand in front of everyone.
Veera was confused, at first, not understanding what Baldev was about to do.
Veera: "Baldev, please meri baat sun..."
("Baldev, please listen to what I have to say...")
But Baldev cut her off and didn't listen to what Veera had to say.
Baldev faced the whole pind ...
Baldev: Sabhi pindwalon, aaj mainu aap sabke saamne ik zaroori baat karni hai. Aaj main Baldev Singh sabke saamne yeh kehna chahta hoon ki main Veera Sampooran Singh se pyaar karta hoon, aur voh meri votti banegi!"
("To all the villagers, today I have something important to tell all of you. Today, I, Baldev Singh confess to everyone that I love Veera Sampooran Singh, and she will be my wife.")
The whole pind suddenly became silent on hearing the news, and then suddenly they all began to chatter. Many were expressing their surprise at two childhood enemies now having fallen in love with each other. While others were happy with this news.
Balwant was very surprised but happy that his son had for once made the right decision of being with a good girl like Veera. Bansuri was shocked and furious. She couldn't believe that her son would do such a stupid thing of falling in love with Veera, the girl whom Bansuri couldn't stand.
Veera stood there in shock. She wasn't alone. Ranvi, Ratan, and Chaiji were very shocked and upset. They couldn't believe and understand how Baldev and Veera could love each other. They were all wondering the same thing: how could Veera not have told them about being in love with Baldev.
Veera was pleading now and whispered: "Baldev, yeh tu kar kya raha hai? Mainu tujhse koi pyaar vyaar nahin hai. Hum dono sirf dost hai."
("Baldev, what are you doing? I don't love you. We are just friends.")
Baldev refused to believe Veera.
Baldev (whispered to Veera): "Veera, mainu pata hai ki tujhe sharm aa rahi hai saare pind ke saamne maine humare pyaar ke baare mein sab keh diya. Lekin mainu pata hai ki mujhse bahut pyaar karti hai."
("Veera, I know that you are embarassed because I confessed about our love in front of the whole pind. But I know that you love me very much.")
Baldev then held Veera's hand, and this time Veera realized that it was not in his usual angry, way when they would fight with each other. Instead, this time, Baldev held Veera's hand with care, and love.
Veera had had enough. She couldn't take it anymore. She pulled her hand free from Baldev's and turn to SLAP him in front of the whole pind.
Everyone in the pind was shocked by Veera's actions. Baldev himself couldn't believe what just happened.
He touched his cheek, where Veera had slapped him, feeling the burning and redness there. All that love, and happiness he had felt towards Veera now converted into anger, and rage, and revenge.
Baldev grabbed Veera's wrist tightly, and pulled her towards him. Veera realized what she had just done and couldn't help but feel a little guilty for having slapped Baldev, which might have been an extreme reaction on her side.
Baldev (in his angry sher mode): "Veera!! Teri itni himmat! Tune aaj pind de sher se panga liya hai. Tenu iss thapad ka jawaab bahut jald milega."
(Veera!! How dare you! Today you have messed with the lion of this village. I will give you an answer to this slap very soon.")
Veera saw the burning rage, and anger in Baldev's eyes and actually couldn't help but feel a little afraid of Baldev.
Baldev stormed off from there in anger. His chamchas, Jaggi and Billa followed, giving Veera an angry, disappointed look as they walked away.
