Part 3

While Baldev and his chamchas were plotting on how to get revenge from Veera for having slapped him, in Pritampura, a young, handsome guy, named Puneet was plotting against Baldev along with his two sidekicks.

Sidekick one: "Paaji, suna hai uss Baldev ko sarpanch banna hai. Aur usse Pritampura ki kudi, Veera se pyaar ho gaya hai."

("Brother, I have heard that Baldev wants to become sarpanch. And he is supposedly in love with Veera.")

Sidekick two: "Aur paaji, uss Baldev ko Veera ne aisa thapad maara, woh bhi saare pind ke saamne, ki ab voh badla lena chahta hai."

("And brother, apparently Veera slapped Baldev in front of the whole pind, and now he has vowed to take revenge.")

Puneet gave a victorious smile.

Puneet: "Yeh sab bahut changa hai! Bachpan mein uss Baldev ki ladai ki vajah se, papaji ne mainu sheher bheja padhai karne ek boarding school mein, poore parivaar se door, aur iss pind se door. Lekin ab main vapis aagaya hoon. Mainu ab uss Baldev se badla lena hai. Aur mainu pata hai ki main yeh kaise karoonga."

("This is great news! In childhood, because of my fight with Baldev, my father had sent me to boarding school in the city, away from my family, and away from this village. But, now I am back. Now, I want to take revenge on Baldev. And I know exactly how I will do it.")

Puneet gave an evil emile, looking at his two sidekicks who nodded their heads in agreement.

The next day...

Baldev, Jaggi and Billa were in the market talking and commenting on the people passing by. When Baldev saw Veera, his face brightened and he decided to trouble her.

Baldev started to walk towards Veera, when suddenly he saw a guy going to speak to Veera, and saw how Veera looked confused at first, but then she smiled and happily hugged the mysterious guy.

Baldev: "Ae ki ho raha hai? Woh munda hai kaun? Pehle toh kabhi iss pind mein nahin dekha hai? Aur meri Veera ke saath kya kar raha hai?"

("Whats happening? Who is that guy? I have never seen him in this village before? And what is he doing with my Veera?")

Jaggi: "Paaji, shayad koi sheher dost hoga."

("Brother, maybe he is Veera's friend from the city.")

Baldev: "Arre nahin, dekh uske kapde! Woh iss pind ke logon ki tarah hi dikhtha hai."

("No, no, look at his clothes! He is dressed just like us.")

Billa: "Paaji, aapko nahin lagda ki voh munda thoda jaana pehchana lagda hai?"

("Brother, don't you think this guy looks familiar?")

Veera (smiled): "Puneet, tu? Kitne saal ho gaye! Tenu ab pind ki yaad aagayi!"

("Puneet, its you? Its been so many years! You finally remebered your village!")

Veera hugged Puneet, happy to see her childhood classmate. Puneet was happy to see Veera as well and hugged her back.

Puneet: "Haan Veera! Tenu toh pata hai na ki uss Baldev ki vajah se bachpan mein papaji ne mainu boarding school bhej diya tha! Lekin ab mainu pind di bahut yaad aa rahi thi, toh main vapis aagaya! Mainu teri bhi bahut yaad a rahi thi."

("Yes Veera! You know how because of Baldev in childhood, my father had sent me to a boarding school in the city, away from everyone here! But I was really missing this village, so I am back now! I thought of you a lot!")

Veera couldn't help but feel awkward and uncomfortable around Puneet when he said that.

Veera (thinking to herself): "Mainu Puneet se milkar kuch accha kyun nahin lag raha? Mainu aise kyun lag raha hai jaise kuch bura hone wala ho."

("Why am I not feeling so good after meeting Puneet? Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen.")

Puneet: "Veera, tu theekh tho hai? Kis soch mein kho gayi tu?"

("Veera, are you okay? What are you thinking about?")

Veera snapped back to reality.

Veera: "Woh kuch nahin. Bas aise hi. Mainu na veerji ki madad karni thi. Main tujhse baad mein milungi."

("Oh nothing. Just like that. I have to go help my brother. I will see you later.")

Puneet: "Changa!"

("Sounds good!")

Veera was walking away, when she suddenly felt someone pull her into the bushes behind a tree. It was Baldev. Veera got furious.

Veera: "Tu? Baldev chod de mainu!"

("You? Baldev, leave me alone!")

Baldev (angrily): "Nahin chodunga tujhe! Kaun tha voh munda? Tenu nahin pata ki tu meri hai, aur sirf meri votti banegi."

("I will not leave you! Who was that guy? Don't you know that you are mine, and you will be my wife.")

Baldev held Veera's wrist tightly to the point that Veera's wrist began to hurt.

Veera (in pain): "Baldev, chod de mera haath! Mainu dard ho raha hai."

("Baldev, leave my hand! You are hurting me.")

Seeing Veera in pain, Baldev couldn't help but feel bad and actually got worried seeing her in pain. He let go of Veera's wrist.

Baldev: "Woh, chot toh nahi lagi? Mainu dekhne de?"

("Oh, did you get hurt? Let me see?")

Baldev took Veera's wrist to examine it for any bruises. Veera was confused by Baldev's change in behavior.

Veera: "Yeh tu ki kar raha hai? Pehle mainu chot pahunchata hai aur phir mera khyaal rakhtha hai."

("What are you doing? First you hurt me, and then you want to take care of me.")

Baldev let Veera go. Before Veera left, she turned to face Baldev.

Veera (angrily): "Tenu jaan na hai ki woh munda kaun tha? Woh Puneet tha. Puneet Pritampura vapis aagaya hai. Bachpan mein teri vajah se uske papaji ne usse pind se nikaal diya, aur boarding school bhej diya Mumbai mein."

("You want to know who that guy was? It was Puneet. Puneet is back in Pritampura. In childhood, because of you his dad had kicked him out of the village and sent him to Mumbai to atttend boarding school.")

Baldev was stunned. He felt like Veera had just slapped him by giving such news.

Baldev (thinking to himself): "Puneet iss pind mein vapis aagaya?! Zaroor voh mujhse badla lena chahta hai! Isliye Veera se baat kar raha tha!"

("Puneet is back in this pind?! I am sure he wants to take revenge from me! Thats why he was talking to Veera!")

Baldev was fuming. He couldn't believe that his childhood enemy Puneet was back in Pritampura to get revenge from him.
