But the writers have done a fine job showing the layered and complicated man that Baldev is. For example, the way he is horrified when Veera tells him that her husband will make rotis after marriage and his dream:-D But we also have a man who despite his conventional views about women supports Veera unconditionally in her time of need. He offers to buy her kulfi to cheer her up! His discomfort was so endearing:-)

The real fun will start when Veera's progressive views and Baldev's rather patriarchal notions clash.

How he will reconcile his gruff exterior and his growing feelings for a woman who challenges him at every point...there's a lot of potential to this character that makes me love him;-)

I loved the way you said it. I adore how Baldev, despite having patriarchal views, loves Veera the way she is - wearing jeans, riding bike with modern mentality. He never expects her to change herself just because she's the one he started falling for.

I just wish Veera does the same - likes him for the way he is, rather than expecting him to be modern and educated for her. Baldev will try to learn her ways for sure, but I want her to tell him that she loves him the way he is. 😳
