Hi, only started watching this show. Had a few questions:
Are Veera and Ranvijay half siblings? Is Ratan only Ranvijay's mom? Who is Veera's mom? Did Veera's mom and sampooran(their father, dunno the correct name) have an affair? Did Ratan know about it?
Yes, Veera and Ranvi are half siblings. Ratan has one son only, Ranvi. Veera's mom is called Amrita- a woman who slept with an unknown married man (her fiance's best friend) after running away from her wedding.
Ratan never knew about Amrita and Sampooran until Amrita turned up on their doorstep with her kid, on the day where Ratan was celbrating her pregnancy. It was the same day she found out that Sampooran had cheated on her and has a daughter.
2) Was Ratan mean to Veera before this getting locked in school fiasco? I mean did she treat her indifferently and was it because his husband had an affair with Veera's real mom?
No, Ratan was never mean to Veera. She let Veera stay with them, fed her, clothed her, gave her shelter and let Ranvi develop a sibling bond with her. Ratan -just like any other woman could not give motherly love to the child of her cheating husband. But she cares for Veera because Veera is a child.
3) Who is Nihal? Is he related to the family? Is he in love with Ratan?
Nihal might be Sampooran with different face (I am hoping that is NOT the case). He claims to be a friend of Sampooran. But several hints have indicated that he may be Sampooran. I don't know if he is in love wih Ratan. (It's a strange kind of love if he does, his logic is to sleep with dying women despite loving his wife.)
4) Where is Sampooran? Is he dead or has disappeared? He can't be dead, can he? I mean Ratan still wears sindoor. So where is he?
He left because he couldn't face the music of his cheating. The village wanted to make a band baja out of him for cheating on a loyal kind wife like Ratan. He left his 2 kids and tormented wife (who just had a miscarriage I might add) to fend for themselves. Ratan wears Sindoor because the writer wants her to stay as Sampooran's wife rather than move on. It's unheard of that a indian housewife moves on despite her husband cheating on her. He's probably back in the village as Nihaal or out there in a ditch, crying somewhere or getting another dying woman pregnant.
5) Who is Amrita?
The woman was Kartar's (Sampooran's best friend) fiance but she ran away from the wedding because she was dying of stomach cancer (Makes me think how could she even have a child in the first place?). She didn't tell her parents about it and was that kind of person who would sleep with a man who was a stranger and married just to know the intimacy of lovemaking and having a baby. She wasn't afraid to face God after doing such a dirty deed. That's the kind of woman she was.
