16th May,2016:Written Update:Ek Tha Raja Ek thi Rani

Rani holds the frame and Bari Rani Maa isn't able to see it. Outside, a lady holds Rani in her arms inquiring if she had food in time. Bari Rani Maa thinks her to be Rani's mother. Raja takes Bari Rani Maa away as he didn't want Rani's secret about working in palace to be disclosed.

Bari Rani Maa, in her room, wonders when would Kaal get old. Kaal comes in and considers Bari Rani Maa's raising being responsible for change in Raja. He assures to become a good father for him now. Bari Rani Maa thinks its Rani's company that is spoiling Raja.

In the kitchen, Rani comes to the other maid Gulabo who felt dizzy. Gulabo says she is really hungry. Rani offers her peanuts and helps her in cleaning of the floor.

Raaj Mata apologizes the manager not being able to work anymore. The manager tells Raaj Mata she is about to win the gift, and must not back out. She can get a gift worth 300 at the end of the month. The other ladies hear about this.

Rani serves food to everyone. Kaal calls Raja towards him. Rani is happy. Kaal asks him to read the English poem. Rani nods at him. Raja smiles and reads the poem about appreciation of love. They all clap fascinated. Kaal appreciates Raja, and boasts about his son. He gifts money to Raja. Rajeshwari slaps Jeewan and takes him inside. Amrita comes to Raja and caresses him. Gulabo comes and falls down nearby. Rani and other servants come to help her, Bari Rani Maa says she just fell down. Rani tells her she hasn't eaten since morning. Bari Rani Maa says servants here only eat once in this palace, she must only bring water for her. Rani argues. Bari Rani Maa comes to her and tells her that masters are masters and servants are always servant. She takes Raja along.

In the room, Rajeshwari tells Jeewan that now he has become the second brother, he has to become better than Raja in everything.

A servant gives a file to Kaal saying it contains the thumb prints of all the people who have mortgaged their lands to Amirkot's govt. He is safe if this file is save. Jeewan watches this. He comes to be friends with Raja. Jeewan challenges everyone to keep hand over burning candle for the longest. The girls back up, but Jeewan challenges Raja and shows him his turn. He gives Raja his turn, Bindu stops Raja but he accepts the challenge. Rani also forbids Raja, but Jeewan calls him coward. Rani leaves with Bindu. Raja insists he isn't a coward, Jeewan burns the candle. Kaal is coming towards the room, Raja holds his hand over the candle. Jeewan stares at him for a while, then drops the candle over the file and runs away. Raja tries to blow out the fire. Kaal reaches there enraged over Raja. Kaal beats him with his stick. Rani puts ointment over his bruises, and asks if he can't think with his brain? Jeewan can never be better, why he didn't tell Kaal about it? Raja says its of no use. Rani is determined not to stay silent and leaves.
