Jags, amazingly written update, loved it.
Loved the convo between RaGa, they truly understand each other better.Felt bad for Subharna, Subharna wants to talk with Ranaji but what is it that she wants to talk with him, is it about BRM behaviour or that she wants to become a mother, BRM is evil i suppose.Waiting for the next update.
Poor rani...BRM is evil. Hope Gayu teach her a lesson
Jags gayitri should stop fidgeting around ranaji
And be confident. I really want them to have a well structured relationship. And that bado rani ma whats wrong with her.Is she really want to make ranaji close with subharna. Subharna deserves the best but i don't want them to get closer as she would be a spike bet raga n would live to see ragas child and plz geet gayu away from dadis taunts.
Chapter 39
The conversation had now moved from Subharnas failure to Primavadas rude behavior for those older than her but it was something Raj mata could handle well. Badima soon left feeling insulted and revengeful but gone.
Subharna on the other hand as Rajmata turned to her was just silent. Too silent as Rajmata looked towards her daughter in law with sympathetic eyes and a motherly touch she saw that Subharna was disturbed in a way that she had never seen her before.
She wiped away a tear but couldn't steady her emotion, it was far too much to tolerate now she had to see Ranaji she said under her distressed tone.
Trying to stop her Rajmata tries to calm the queen but is unsuccessful ...
"Nahin rani.. abhi toh aap ke aur Ranaji ke beech dooriya kam ho rahin hai" (No Rani, things have just started to get better for and the king don't .. )."She did not listen and Rajmata could only watch her walk away briskly, discomposed, emotional and hurt in search of the king.
...
The guard stood tall outside the political suite following his masters orders of not letting anyone disturb them within but also conscious of his queen who was striding t towards the room without a care in the world in a way no servant would have ever seen the queen. Her full to the brim of tears and distress the guard could not put up a front before the queen although he tried non of his words were taken into account. She pushed open the doors of the room herself and stepped in regardless of the people in the room.
The British, the kings men, the village councils, other neighboring kings or his younger wife. Today she had broken beyond what others would think she had no care because her heart was beating too fast in fact it was bleeding in a way she had no way to tend. So spoke her eyes, her discomposure and her recklessness.
When all eyes turned to the rude interruption of an extremely prestigious and important meeting where the king himself was in the middle of talking he didn't appreciate this one bit.
"Hame aap se baat karni ("I need to speak to you..") she spoke through her tear filmed eyes overlooking all other eyes, the state of affairs and how inappropriate it was by royal standards to bring personal matters into a raj sabha this way.
It wasn't as if he didn't see she was distressed, but he was a king he saw how his instructions had been broken, how this room of royalty was seeing something they had no matter in seeing. He was infuriated by the way his queen had disregarded all royal mannerisms.
A king had to prove durable to all around him to maintain his respect but this wasn't just the king speaking this way because he had to he was speaking from his mind. His eyes cold and stern at the way his queen had barged in this way. It was improper.
Whatever It was it wasn't an emergency enough to disturb this because when the king asked her some key questions as whether they were under attack, or whether one of his family members was on death row for her to interrupt them this way the queen was able to answer either of them.
He asked her to wait for him in his study should she wish to speak to him and went back to continuing the meeting, apologizing for the interruption .
Indravarden may have treated the matter like a king but Gayatri who was by his side failed to see it any other way than a lady. A wife. She felt bad for Subharna, she could see her distress, her tears, her pleading eyes. Even after Subharna had left and the meeting was resumed she was disturbed by the matter like other more compassionate souls in the room.
...
Entering the kings study which was the closest room to the court as Subharna staggered into the empty room which spoke of the king in every way she just about got to the back of the armchair at his desk which had draped over it one of his blazers and broke down into a uncontrollable cry.
She did not know why but she felt the most weak and the most hurt in this moment. Taking the kings blazer into her hands she sobbed uncontrollably into the material. This was closest she allowed to be to him and she had nowhere else to go.
...
Gayatri weighed up what had just gone on in the room and what could have possibly happened that had the older queen so upset.
Not sure if he would see it her way Gayatri when given the opportunity discreetly whispers wishes to leave the room into Indravardens ear. He was a sharp man he knew why it was and allowed for it.
...
When Gayatri walked out in search of Subharana she was careful as not to breech any privacy yet when seeing Subharna quiet and alone in Ranajis study it was concern in Gayatri that led her towards her.
The queen had controlled her emotions a great deal by the time Gayatri had walked into the room. "Agar aap chahe toh ham Ranaji se ek baar darkwas kar sakte hai.."
(If you like I could try and )
She nodded a no in return to Gayatris kind gesture.
"Ham unhe kehenge bhi kya is baat ki hame koi khabar nahin hai "
("I wouldn't know what to say to him anyway.")
"Ham talkeef mein they aur maharaj ke siva is mehel mein hamara koi nahin toh bina soche samaje chale ayey."
("Its okay I guess I was looking to be comforted, I was hurt the king is the only person in the palace I have to turn to so I ran to here without giving it a second thought.)
Gayatri could see that whatever the matter was it had to be something painful and disturbing for it to shake Rani Subharnas tolerance but if there was one thing Gayatri felt she could address was the loneliness the older queen had mentioned.
Before leaving the room she wouldn't leave without making sure Subharna know that the king wasn't the only person in the mehel she could turn too.
Aap akeli nahin hai Raniji ..ham hai, Rajmata hai, Swarnalekha hai. Aap ham par bharosa kar sakti hai. (You can trust us. )
Gayatris consolation was appreciated by Subharna.
...
Gayatri just didn't understand the sudden change of atmosphere in the Mehel. It was tense unhappy and just so restrained in so many ways. The encounter with Subharna this morning Is what left Gayatri in the most thought. Something was wrong, something needed attention but what?
The only person that was well aquatinted with the secrets of the Mehel and who would surely know was Swarna!.
Setting of in search of her around the mehel Gayatri is determined to fix the cause of everyone's unhappiness if she could what was.
...
Meanwhile as Ranaji walks out of the concluded sabha to his study he finds the room vacant. Subharna was no longer in the room. Unbuttoning the collar of his traditional suit he gives a frustrated sigh.
...
BADI MA..!
Une galat cheeze bolne ki adat hai Gayatri aur khaas kar is ghar ki bahuon ko.
("She has an habbit of speaking horribly Gayatri and more so to the women of the house.")
Swarna was as unhappy as the rest as she made tea for Badi ma because nobody else wanted to be around the kings Grandmother. Swarna in the end after a little pestering told Gayatri exactly what it was that that Badima upset Subharna over every time.
Gayatri who would not stand by like the rest of them and watch it all happen didn't see why nobody had thought to do something about it.
She understood that It would be difficult speaking up against the kings grandmother granted but one could and should stand up for themselves.
The implications of Badimas comments were horrible. "Yey kis ke liyey hai" (Whos this for? ) Gayatri said randomly looking at tea Swarnlekha was making, Badi ma she answered wondering why it was that Gayatri was asking her this.
Watching put her hands on her hips Swarna was sure that Gayatris mind was up to no good. ..
Hame karne ne doh Swarna ham badi ma ko ek atchi si chai pilayenge! (Let me Swarna I'll be sure to make this cup of tea one to remember!)
She was right Gayatris mind was up to no good ..
Gayatri ...aap kya karne jaa rahin hai (What are you up to Gayatri?)she said as she watched Gayatri open up various drawers in the royal kitchen looking for things.
Turning to swarna with an adamant but mischievous glow in her eyes Rani Gayatri was ready to give Badima a taste of her own medicine.
"Gaun mein jab koi sarurat se shyada bolta tha na toh ham ise aisi hien chai piladete they"! (Back home when someone spoke more then necessary then this is what stopped them from opening their mouth)
Swarnlekha could not believe her ears, or her eyes for that matter she watched Gayatri stir in a mix of different things together and then stir them into the cup of tea.
This was not good thought Swarna but at the same time Badi ma was also causing to much trouble.
Gayatri would take this herself and she wasn't the least frightened in doing so the old lady deserved it. As Gayatri walked to exit the kitchen Swarnekha was about to warn her to change her mind one last time but before she could another more royal voice interrupted.
Une jana dijyey Swarna (Let her go Swarna) it was Rajmata both of the girls shocked for a moment soon it is apparent that Raj mata is on their side and a smile converses on Gayatris face as their eyes share mutual understanding as she walks past her mother in law.
Swarna who could not believe the on goings watches from behind a pillar as Gayatri acting as the quintessential new bride innocently serves the tea to badi ma and leaves. There was something satisfying about this even if it seemed a little wrong.
...
It could be said that the right moment had passed. When Subhara helped the king out of his blazer from the back that evening in the royal bedroom she had obviously avoided him after this morning.
He turned to her and as he did she dropped her eyes in respect of him either that or she did not wish to interact with him, there was regret in the kings silence as he watched Subharna. He thought about todays incident throughout the day the king in him was adequately satisfied that he was being proper to his idea of conducting ones self in a rajput manner but the man, the husband wasn't so sure. He had yet again let down this lady when she needed him.
"Aap hamara vakt chahti thi.." (You asked for my time) how insufficient this was now he realized as he spoke to her but he was doing his bit.
The silence was awkward, both could feel one and others regret and Ranaji was able to see a weight of grief his queen carried on her shoulders.
"Woh lama ghuzar gaya sahib.." (That moment has now passed sir)
She said avoiding his eyes a little of that wifely dismay, a complaint but what was on her lips didn't match her heart.
He could feel that distinctively whatever was troubling wasn't easy to say.
Watching him walk past her Subharna watched whilst Indravarden walked to the writing desk at some distance.. pulled out some writing paper from a drawer and placed ontop of it a pen.
"Keh nahin pa rahin hai toh likh dijyey.." (If you are having trouble speaking of it then write it down.)
That one share of a glance at that time told the queen that the king wished to know.

Next chapter'/s
Badi ma had lost her voice, a doctor was called a diagnosis was made and in the end it was concluded that a mix of strange concoction is what had resulted into this.
The king was not impressed, least so when he happened to walk by a room where women of the mehel were in laughter over the incident. Rajmata, Gayatri and Swarnlekha, slowly from the womens conversation and fun of the matter it was apparent that non other than Gayatri was responsible. When making his presence known in the women went silent but it was too late.

Okay guys thank you for waiting there will be more on Ranaji and Gayatris relationship with the coming chapters bare with me in the mean time I hope there was at least some element of this you enjoyed. Thank you all again love you all!
