So pretty! Thanks, shwets. Missed 2 episodes in a row.
Avdesh turns out to be pretty interesting actually. Saw a bit of the beating up scene. He really looks depressed. Does he commit suicide and his sister avenges?

Avdesh is doing well from what I read. Always loved St's villains. Very straightforward they seem to be. Not much of mind games. 😉 ofc, this guy comes nowhere near sultan of mb. Story seems to be interesting. Good going, cvs. 😃

Much has been said about RNJ's actions y'day...
I was thinking about two things with regard to G. The first was her interaction with Avdesh. It very clearly established that she was aware of his intentions towards her. Her telling him that RNJ and she would be together always was significant. Her point was that she was never going to leave her husband's side whatever the outcome of the game. Of course, Avdesh never made any attempt to conceal his intentions from her,

I was wondering if things could have played out very differently if she had directly told RNJ that she was uncomfortable with the way Avdesh behaved with her, that it was inappropriate and indecent. While RNJ is a fair man, he is a possessive husband too. He would never have accepted another man harboring malafide intentions towards his wife. Instead of talking about feeling weird or odd, if she had got into specifics, maybe things might have played out differently.

The second point was when she gave her consent for him to bet. She did so because she was afraid to hurt him like she had when she had not backed him during the duel. To me, it seemed like she let go of the opportunity that was in her hands. Of course, Avdesh may still have found other ways to lure RNJ into the game.

This is where I think G should learn a bit more about the ways of the Rajouts, Even if RNJ had been killed in the duel, he would have gone down in a blaze of glory. Instead, he would now be going down in history as some kind of modern Yudhistr, although it did not go that far thankfully. The point is she feared Avdesh's unscrupulous ways and asked RNJ not to fight. Now, having realized how that had hurt him, she was consenting for him to play dice with the same unscrupulous Avdesh. The bottomline being that the fear of a wrong decision and the pain that it brought to her husband was pushing her to make another wrong choice. The context is as important as the decision is what she needs to learn from it.

Interesting story telling over all! If only Avdesh had not been made so obvious. He is still sly but he is obviously sly. He could have been written better and then maybe he would have been played better..!

Good show over all...!

Honestly Bertie, she rather let him play dice and loose Ameerkot then the possibility of him getting killed. That is what i saw personally.
CV has not really covered all possibilities because they had to make a choice. Ranaji dying was not gonna happen anyway.

But yes i also wonder what kind of other reason they could come up with, but they took the easy way out.

Bertie, when G told RNJ not to fight in a duel, did she also tell him that she suspects Avdesh is unscrupulous and will not fight fair?

Or was that not revealed to RNJ just as Avdesh hitting on her was hidden from him? How else will these twists come in?

She did.. in many ways actually.

Point of this s/l is that Avdesh is not worh Ranaji's time and effort. He is not a worthy opponent, he lies, he cheats to win. He is nothing.. Why gamble with that?

@Nandy- G didn't tell RNJ abt Av. He asked her specifically , "Kuch kya ka?" when she spoke of her suspicion abt A & fire., after the SR interrupted epi.

Probably she was embarrassed of her hugging Av by mistake & didn't want to tell him or was wary of RNJ's anger.

He tried it when she tried to surprise Ranaji with diner. He has not gotten the chance to be aggressive yet. But no she has not told him yet. Timing is not correct for it now.
There is a particular written strategy for that 😆.

@Nandy

G never ever told RNJ that Avdesh had tried to hit on her...his flirtatious behaviour had started from the very moment he set eyes on her...when he told her that she was saved but he was dead...and then, even post the duel when he was befriending RNJ...the looks that he kept giving her...and so it went on...

If G had revealed to RNJ that Avdesh's intentions were malafide towards her, there is no way he would have kept silent...

But yes, all this drama would not have unfolded and so they had to make her keep her silence..

However, going by the same logic, RNJ had to do what he did for the drama to unfold as well...so why come down on him like a pile of bricks..?

The outcome would/ could have been different if they had both acted differently...but since the outcome was predetermined, they had to do what they did...

@GRabit

RNJ was not upset about her not backing him in general...he had a specific issue with her not having enough trust in his valour...he saw her attempts to stop him from fighting as her reservations about his warrior skills...the point is a Rajput cannot back away from a challenge simply because the opponent is unscrupulous...and Avdesh did have the right to challenge him...because RNJ's grandfather had won Amerkot by duelling with Avdesh's grandfather..so Avdesh was challenging him to defend his right...and RNJ would have looked mighty silly and a coward if he had told him that he would not fight him because he suspected he was unscrupulous...what grounds did he have to say that?

To a Rajput, his valour is his pride...while G was rightfully concerned as a wife, she did not realize what a sensitive topic she was broaching..and while she had a right to want her husband to be safe, she had no right to prevent the King from defending his throne from a challenger...this was exactly what RNJ told her...duels and sword fights were still the norm back then..!

Death before disgrace...isn't that their motto and how they live their life? G needed to understand and appreciate that...that is all my point is..

She was still thinking like a wife...she needed to start thinking like a Queen...! If a King has to sacrifice his life in defense of his throne, then so be it...!

I am terribly confused by Avdesh's characterization...

Okay...so he wanted Amerkot...and then he saw G and he wanted her...

But even after having seen G, he still wanted Amerkot...

So he fought a duel for it...

But he lost it because he wanted G more...

And then he slyly befriended RNJ..

He tried to win G in the game of dice but that did not happen...

But he won everything else...

He offered to return Amerkot to RNJ if G would be willing to be his..and she said no deal..

So he gave everything back and walked away...

So why did he fight the duel for Amerkot in the first place?

Frankly this track was both convoluted and contrived...

But there was a lot of drama...

And that was that!
