Shweta...there were some gorgeous expressions of Sid today...hope we'll get a collage ...!
Okay, first things first...I really wonder if Sid had downed a peg or two...that glazed look in his eyes when he was arguing with G in their bedroom...if that was just acting, am amazed...!
The epi proceeded along expected lines...but, just maybe, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...
RNJ did lose...but to begin with, he took G's consent ...which she gave him because she felt guilty that he was hurt over her refusal to support him during the duel...sigh!
Anyway, he lost everything right up to the contents of his treasury..the last because Avdesh mocked him over its meager contents...that is the problem with these Rajputs...proud to a fault...and in order to protect his royal pride, he gambled and lost it all...
And when Avdesh stooped low enough to urge him to gamble all including his wife next, RM was righteously indignant...and so was RNJ...he would have walked away and saved the day but again he was reminded of his promise and the fact that a Rajput did not walk away from battle...so what if it was a game of dice...pretty much the same kind of lines that pushed RNJ to fight the first duel..and once again he was pushed into a contest!
I personally felt this whole bit was scripted and executed well, the drama was taut and somehow not as ugly as one anticipated it to be.
The precap indicates that Avdesh cheats...what else is to be expected of him after all!.RNJ is going to lose his palace and his kingdom but not his wife...since he will refuse to bet on her...!
Go ahead and call me biased...but once again, without shouting or resorting to obvious histrionics, Sid stole the show...RNJ's actions maybe right or wrong, but not a false step in Sid's performance...be it the glint in his eye as he was drawn into the game, the teasing grin, the victorious gleam when he won his first game, his stubborn pride to wager the contents of his treasury even to protect their pride and finally, his quiet and controlled fury after Avdesh proposed that ugly wager...he did not shout or scream and yet he exuded power...! When he told Avdesh that his head would have been off but for the fact that his mother had called him her son...he bit out the words but there was no need for him to raise his voice even for us to sense the degree of contempt he felt...!
In contrast, Avdesh was back to his screaming and full on dramatic self...! Somehow his performance is ceasing to have a significant impact now that the newness has worn off..!
Drashti is very good with confrontational scenes and she scored again in the scene with Avdesh...
When she told him that win or lose, RNJ and G would always be together.
RM was impressive when she asked Avdesh to stay within his limits, with eyes that flashed her fury.
Kunwar was his usual slimy self...Kokila would benefit from some acting lessons from her husband...!
Laskh did not have much else to do except look smug...and Swarna alarmed..!
So, all in all, a pretty good epi...but am so looking forward to the hiding that Avdesh is going to get at RNJ's hands!
