In this Mahabarat being played out for the Amerkot throne, the battle lines are clearly drawn. Like in the original epic, it is kin against kin, blood against blood! On one side there is Rana ji, the rightful heir and on the other side there is Badi Rani Maa and Kunwar, the challengers! Rana ji here is like Yudhistir except that instead of the dice, they are using a pawn in the form of Sulakshana to bait him. They know that she was his Achilles heel and they believe that she still is!
Badi Rani Maa thinks Gayathri will run away when faced with Sulakshana and Rana ji's obsession with her. She thinks that Govind Seth will then rise against the King and weaken his control over his kingdom. So she is going to try and emotionally weaken Gayathri to a point where she will be forced to leave the palace. She is also going to play on Rana ji's conscience by reminding him of his first love and his responsibilities towards Sulakshana.
Thankfully for Rana ji, he has a Krishna in the form of Rajmata by his side. And she is going to turn Rana ji's wife Gayathri into his Arjun to fight the war for him. She is going to investigate the sudden reappearance of Sulakshana and she is going to help Gayathri understand the kind of conspiracies that are hatched in palaces.
Once Gayathri knows that Rana ji's interests are at stake, she will fight for him because she believes that her cause is righteous.
Badi Rani Ma's intention is not to return Ranaji's first love to him, We don't even know for sure if she is indeed Sulakshana.
Besides, the actress playing Sulakshana is not the typical vamp material that appeals to the TRP crowd. She does not have the histrionic ability or the screen presence to play a negative lead. They have cast her for a reason. My guess is that she is a pawn in the larger game that BRM is playing...the pawn is always among the first to be sacrificed...!
It appears a battle of wills between Rajmata and Badi Rani Maa at the moment. Who blinks first is going to be important here. The Swarna track can also be a game changer in this context because it is going to give Rajmata a lot of ammunition against the Kunwars!
Anyway, the fact of the matter is that war has been declared. Kurukshetra lasted eighteen days! This one will go for longer, I suppose!
