HOC is a great show. Yes it has gray characters and the dark can really stun you with its viciousness but it is intelligent and very well played by the actors. Try and watch the UK version which is just four episodes before the US version. It is subtle and all the more bleaker for it. The UK version was based of a novel by Michael Dobbs who worked for the Conservative party.

If you think you would like HOC or like HOC you might also like State of Play (BBC). if you have not caught West Wing yet, you might like it. More light hearted. It petered out in the last two seasons as more long shows tend to do.

Ooo...la...la. I read the last few posts and am elated that the passion would be in full swing this week and I can finally see the actor in Rana Deo speaking with his eyes. High time. I hope he doesnt go overboard for TRPs. I am not into spoilers, so would see the episodes this week and comment by the weekend. I don't mince words when I give my views, but I agree that its quite a mystery why Rana Deo is suddenly so passionate in the precap and after! Maybe, he realised that life is too short and needs to be enjoyed to the fullest, so holding back has no reason whatsoever! 🤣 Phir mauka mile na mile!!!

The two angles which need to be addressed is Swarnalekha and Gun firing. I hope that is also done this week, so viewers get an inclination of who is winning the Deepawali challenge or if its buried forever! 😃

Of course, if there is absurdity in the show till Friday, then I would be trekking around to giv my views. Else, lets enjoy the moments.

RNJ's conflict is not addressed at all after he started falling for G. His inner dilemma that he could easily let someone else into his heart,he thought he had closed forever ,will be interesting.

I don't know how many takers will be there for the protagonist as the souten. G as a second wife,who is just getting accepted by the husband lacks the legitimacy of the much loved first wife,coming back after some unknown ordeal.

Anyway, i don't watch bigamy and would never have watched this show,if they had this planned all along.

I have decided am going to enjoy the romance of this gorgeous couple while it lasts...will deal with Sula if and when she comes...worst case, I have the remote ...so no worries...

Nod 1 - When G arrives along with RM -

"Hello again...are you weak kneed still...trust me...I am having trouble holding my posture...!"

Nod 2 - After he's pulled the chair out for her..

."Trust me...that's the way its going to be from now on"

Nod 3 a - To the steward..

"Are you kidding me...one more spoonful of that ...or I'll have your head!"

Nod 3b - After food is served..

"Now that's better...!"

Nod 4 - After G looks at the food and back at him..

"I want to see that plate empty in the next five minutes...now get on!"

Nod 5 - As G picks up the spoon...

"That's not the way its done...!"

Nod 6 - After he picks up the napkin and opens it with a flourish...

"Now that was easy, wasn't it?"

Nod 7 - After she picks up the spoon again..

"Oof...not that one silly..!"

Nod 8 - After she picks up the fork..

"Yes..good...you're getting there...!"

Nod 9 - As she looks at him after picking up what looked like a carrot piece to me,.

"What are you looking at me for...I'm not eating it for you...

Nod 10 - As she looks on reluctantly..

"come on, put that into your mouth..!"

Nod 10 - After she bites into the piece

Now how was he to say all of that with a single nod😆

@BertieWooster : I felt the actor /writer went overboard. 😡 But, it could hav been Rana Deo's way of making amends and apologising to Gayatri for his earlier dining table manners before the staff and family. A nice way to say, "I am sorry, dear Queen!" Even in a corporate world, there are induction programmes wherein an employee is familiarized with the culture and ethos of the new company. Today we also hav image consultants to teach u several finer points like dining etiquettes/party etiquettes etc. So, ideally, a Queen needs to be inducted too, right? Then the King doesn't need to nod all the time, no matter how subtle and gracious it is!!! 🤣
