Doesn't that point to a desire to establish her as innocent...or a desire to unmask her...from the part of the writers...so they can generate drama...!
As I see it, unmasking her would have the greatest impact if G were to discover the truth and probably keep it to herself, even at the cost of personal harm or threat...so he can fall even more in love with his self sacrificing and noble wife...
And have the blinkers off in terms of Sula...
Of course it is important that he has fallen in love despite Sula...but how does that contribute to drama I wonder...except as a trigger for Sula or her co-conspirator to harm G or to reveal themselves...!
